3. Ronald (and Sven) did their utmost in digesting 4 days of Teched knowledge,
staying awake through some presentations, watching Designated
Survicor@home and making notes of the presentations they found worth
taking back to all of you.
The following slides contain interpretations of the stuff said on the TechEd and
do not necessarily represent the way it was intented by SAP.
Please don’t blame us if our interpretations might be off track as, in the end,
we’re only human.
Ronald and Sven assume no responsibility for errors or ommisions in this
document, except if such damages were caused by SAP intentionally or grossly
negligent.
21. Real ML in B4(?) DAT369
Installed as part of an SAP Predictive Analytics client-
server configuration, Predictive Factory is a thin-client,
Web server-based application. Predictive Factory lets
you automate the management of predictive models
created in SAP Predictive Analytics Modeler. All users can
automate much of the predictive lifecycle such as
retraining a model, applying a model to new data sets,
and detecting model deviations.
39. Data Hub = Docker Image DAT109
Corporate Memory ;-)
Operating-system-level virtualization, also known as containerization, refers to
an operating system feature in which the kernel allows the existence of multiple
isolated user-space instances. Such instances,
called containers,[1] partitions, virtualization engines (VEs) or jails (FreeBSD
jail or chroot jail), may look like real computers from the point of view of programs
running in them. A computer program running on an ordinary operating system can see
all resources (connected devices, files and folders, network shares, CPU power,
quantifiable hardware capabilities) of that computer. However, programs running inside a
container can only see the container's contents and devices assigned to the container.
Kubernetes (commonly stylized as K8s[3]) is an open-source container-orchestration
system for automating deployment, scaling and management
of containerized applications.[4] It was originally designed by Google and is now
maintained by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. It aims to provide a "platform for
automating deployment, scaling, and operations of application containers across clusters
of hosts".[3] It works with a range of container tools, including Docker.
Ok…
Vmware ;-)

So how many do we really have? 7! No not really, we have 4, but in SQL loosely coupled tooling. Powerdesigner? We have EA
Integration with the SQL NDSO as a data source
The data lake is back
Lets just store everything, including enterprise data??
HADOOP is the corporate memory??

Parallell joins when using HANA
Calculation View Model results in execution plan with parallel joins in contrast to Composite Provider Modeldata volume is reduced / aggregated earlier in the planfaster execution
BW/4HANA works in the direction of adapting QO execution (first version in BW/4HANA SP8; also for external view)
BEx is back
Conversion still not released to partners
On prem seems ok
Limited options
ABAP in the cloud, they did it all for us!
Dwaas
Same codeline so yes
Start over again on SCP
Predictive analytics is still alive!
So what exactly happens in B4 directly? Then I need to use HAP..
Lightweight my ass
Simple
BRUG: but why is it simple…

Ok, that’s pretty cloudy news…
Runs in a docker image with a small HANA
Read metadata from sources (find customer in all my data)
Complementary not replacing (ofcourse)
SDI I can understand: HANA as a target versus multiple systems
SDI I can understand: HANA as a target versus multiple systems
HANA DMS = Magic
Its not simple but at least there are solutions across the board
