 Verify your Sage 100 version
 Process all 1099 vendor payments/or Invoices for 2020

 Run NonEmployee Compensation Conversion Utility
 Download and install Federal and State Tax Reporting
 Download and install 2020 Tax Forms using Aatrix
 Test Drive 1099 Forms and Validate Data

5.  Verify your Sage 100 version – must be:
 Version 2018 Product Update 10
 Version 2019 Product Update 4
 Version 2020 Product Update 1

If not on one of the above versions/update levels, please contact your RKL
Customer Success Manager to arrange for an upgrade and/or product update.

 To Determine your current version of Sage, go to Help > About Sage 100

7. 1099 Preparation
Version 2017 and lower – or –
Higher with third party software that is not compatible with the required product
updates
 1099 forms will not be able to be printed from Sage 100
 To export data to merge onto printed forms or to forward to a third party, please reach
out to support@rklesolutions.com.

8.  Process all 1099 payments for 2020
 Payment History Report
 Correct Vendor 1099 amounts on the Vendor Masterfile
as needed

 Verify Federal ID Number
 Library Master > Main > Company Maintenance

10.  Install 1099 Hot Fix
 Back up Sage 100 MAS90 folder
 Download and install AP6001T

11.  Run 1099 NonEmployee Compensation
Utility
 Export 1099 2020 data from each 1099-
enabled live company
 For each of the above companies:
 Log in to the live company
 File > Run
 Type “syzcon” (without the quotes), click OK
 Type run “../Utility/AP_Update1099s_utl”

 Click Yes

13. NonEmployee Compensation Conversion
The utility will do the following for all 2020 MISC records:
NEC Record Changes:
1. Copy MISC box 4 to NEC box 4 (Federal Income Tax WH; this amount will be on both the MISC and NEC
form)
2. Move MISC box 7 to NEC box 1. (Nonemployee Compensation)
3. Copy MISC box 16 to NEC box 5. (State tax WH. This amount will be on both the MISC and NEC form)
4. Copy MISC box 17 to NEC box 6. (State payer state no. This amount will be on both the MISC and NEC
form)
5. Copy MISC box 18 to NEC box 7. (State income. This amount will be on both the MISC and NEC form)

14. NonEmployee Compensation Conversion
The utility will do the following for all 2020 MISC records:
MISC record changes:
1. Move MISC box 10 to MISC box 9. (Crop insurance proceeds)
2. Move MISC box 14 to MISC box 10. (Gross proceeds paid to an attorney)
3. Move MISC box 15a to MISC box 12. (Section 409A deferrals)
4. Move MISC box 16 to MISC box 15. (State tax WH)
5. Move MISC box 17 to MISC box 16. (State payer state no.)
6. Move MISC box 18 to MISC box 17. (State income)
7. Delete MISC box 15a
8. Delete MISC box 15b
9. Delete MISC box 18

15. NonEmployee Compensation Conversion
The utility will do the following for all 2020 MISC records:
SY_1099Setup changes:
1. Delete MISC box 15a, if it exists in the setup file
2. Delete MISC box 15b, if it exists in the setup file

3. Delete MISC box 18, if it exists in the setup file
AP_Vendor changes:
1. Change Vendor Default Form and Box if MISC Form, Box 7 will change to NEC, Box1.

 Click Autorun
 Choose “Install Federal and
State Tax Reporting”
 Follow the prompts to
install
Must be performed on each workstation running 1099 forms

17. Preparing for Calendar Year End
1099 Preparation
Go to Accounts Payable > Reports > Form 1099 eFiling and Reporting
1099’s are processed through a 3rd party product called Aatrix
Test access to Aatrix before year end and apply all required updates

18. 1099 Test Drive
Version 2018, 2019 and 2020
Go to Accounts Payable > Reports > Form 1099 Tax Reporting

 1099’s are processed through a 3rd party product called Aatrix
 To download 2020 forms, choose Automatic Update and follow the prompts
 If Automatic doesn’t work, choose Download Update and browse to the Aatrix website for
the download
