- 2. ECONOMIC SECTORS There are 3 economic sectors: Primary sector: in this sector, people work with matter from nature. Secondary sector: in this sector, people transform the natural materials to elaborated. Terciary sector: in this sector, people offer a service
- 3. ECONOMIC SECTORS Examples of jobs in each sector: PRIMARY SECTOR: farmer, miner, fisherman SECONDARY SECTOR: builder, shoemaker, carpenter TERCIARY SECTOR: teacher, doctor, driver, waiter
- 5. FISHING There are two kinds of fishing: Deep sea fishing: with big boats and in the ocean. They have to freeze the fish in the boat and they sail for more than one day. Coastal fishing: with small boats and in the coast. They sail only for one day
- 6. AGRICULTURE - FARMING There are two kinds of crop: RAINFED: It is only necessary the water of the rain. For example: olive tree, grapevine, cereals IRRIGATED: It is necessary to water frequently. For example: fruit trees, vegetables, corn.
- 7. LIVESTOCK There are different kinds: PIGGERY LIVESTOCK SHEEP FARMING AVIAN LIVESTOCK GOAT FARMING COW FARMING SHEEP COWSPIGS AVIAN LIVESTOCK GOAT
- 8. QUESTIONS In which sector people transform the natural resources in elaborated products? In which sector people give services? In which sector is a shoemaker? In which sector is a teacher? In which sector is a farmer? What is a rainfed crop? What is a deep sea fishing? Can you tell me different kinds of livestock?
- 9. ACTIVITIES 1. Taboo game. Oral exercise in which the students play in two teams. One person have to guess a word by the definitions given by the rest of the members of his/her team. But, there is one problem: YOU CAN’T SAY SOME WORDS!!!
