2. Analysis of Other Album Covers!
For my research I looked at a few different album
covers for indie/rock bands, including The Foo
Fighters albums, ‘Wasting Light’ and ‘One by One’
and The Killers ‘Battle Born’. I looked at the
layout, the image, the colour scheme and the
back of the album. I looked at Foo Fighters album
‘Wasting Light’, the colour scheme of the font and
the background matched the conventional colour
scheme of indie/rock bands. The image usually
relates to the album name or just features the
band members. The name of the band is
conventionally on the front of the album so fans of
the band can recognise the bands album. I
looked at the layout to see if it followed the line of
sight, most of the albums I looked at followed this
line of sight which makes it stand out from other
albums.

3. Analysis of Back and CD!
The back covers colour scheme is usually
the same as the colour scheme on the
front cover. The albums I have looked at
usually follow the conventional colour
scheme for indie/rock albums. The actual
CD usually has the same image on it as the
front cover, the album for Foo Fighters
‘One by One’ has the same image of the
heart on it as it has on the front cover. The
song list on the back is usually laid out in a
conventional way, down the left hand side
with an image relating to the image on the
front behind it.

I think this is good to use this layout I thought this was good but the words
as it is spaced out and all the words are all too cluttered together
aren’t cluttered together. therefore it doesn’t look professional.

6. Album and Band Name!
• The Album name usually has something to do with
the band, either to do with their own life. I therefore
took into account this convention and thought of an
album name which had something to do with the
band’s life. I decided on ‘evolution’, because the band
had to evolve in the music world to be successful.
• The Band name I thought had to start with ‘The’ or
have ‘The’ in the name, because a lot of successful
bands have ‘The’ in them, e.g. ‘The Killers’, ‘The
Kooks’ and ‘Florence and the Machine’. I thought of
the following band names:
• The Presidents
• Calvin and the Presidents
• Michael Jackson Memorial Band (MJMB)
• The Komodo Dragons

8. Images, front and back!
All four bands members in the process of evolution,
but instead of them being the evolution of humans
it relates to the evolution of music and how the
band has adapted to the change. The background
will be white.

be the same as the one on the
front but from the other side.
