Linear
narrative
Develop I used a linear narrative in my film
opening as there are no jump cuts
and it is using continuity editing.
By using this technique the audience
can follow the story line and not
become confused, and they will
want to watch the rest of the film in
order to find out more.
Introducing
characters
Use I used the conventions of a film
opening by introducing my main
character. She plays the main role
throughout the whole film so the
audience connects with her right at
the beginning of the opening, in the
second setting.

Titles Developed During the planning of my film opening I
wanted to include people who helped
me in the production and filming.
However, not many people did help me
except from Karolina Telicka who was
my actress, this meant I had to make up
names for the titles. I gained inspiration
from my title sequence from Taken. I
had to change the first 3 titles to red
font because when they were white it
contrasted with the sky.
Music Use I used 2 different songs for my film
opening, this creates more of a
dramatic effect and creates a build up
for later on in the film. The music
becomes quieter during diagetic sound.
4. How does your Media Product represent
particular social groups?
Gender – my film opening represents women as brave as my main
character is walking around the house not scared, looking for
someone. There are not any other characters in my opening, but if
there were I would have other people more nervous to highlight
how brave my main character is.
Age – my media product portrays young people/teenagers as
courageous and independent. This is because Karolina is walking
around the house alone and does not seem nervous of the fact
that she is alone.
Ethnicity – the only ethnicity that is displayed in my opening is a
white British citizen.
Class – the class of my main character is middle class, this is
because she is from London in a nice large house. From her attire
you can see that she is middle class as well as she is wearing nice
clothes and does not look like she is wearing cheap clothes.
