Not listed here is Todd Wingen – Todd is our Sales Representative from Ashdon Frams & QSP – he is the GSEM support – if we don’t have the answer we ask Todd– he is our partner in this
Training is broken into two parts: First will be the Sale -- Second part – Travis will be doing a live demo of nut-E. Feel free to leave if you can’t stay.
PST
Why are we here ?
picture says it all – THE GIRLS!
How can they have fun while earning funds for the troop
How the troops participate
How to earn proceeds
Also to talk about Fall Sales and how you as A SUFSM can help troops accomplish this.
We want to give you the tools and knowledge to accomplish this.
We have enhanced the SU Manual and added a troop guide.
PST
When troops participate
The girls are learning and building on the 5 key skills
Who can tell us what the 5 Skills are?
1.) Monday Management
2.) Business Ethics
3.) Decision Making
4.) People Skills
5.) Goal Setting
The girls are earning patches and recognitions
The troops are earning early proceeds and incentives
Money earned by GSEM is going toward sustaining and developing more programs for the girls
PST – ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FROM TODD
The economy is coming back – people are not just buying items to support anymore – they are buying practical items that can be used for practical purposes
Families are buying nut and candy items as teacher gifts
People are renewing their magazines with GSEM – year after year
With the successful introduction of the “direct ship” people were shopping from home when they could in a relaxed environment, thinking about their purchases and possibly purchasing more
The over all sale was up over 6% pretty good – great job
PST
Increase the sale by 3% - we can do better – we can double that –
we have an amazing group of people here in this room –
we have amazing strong independent girls who are go getters – they can utilize all the tools and exceed their goals
Don’t worry so much about the numbers - we want you as a SUFM to focus on encouraging the returning troops to increase their sales –and encourage new troops to try fall sale and
encouraging troops who say no – to give one aspect a try
If every troop increased a little
If every town had one or two more troops selling
If every girl sends out 12 emails.
The total of all of us together would make a huge impact
There are troops out there who do not know that fall sale exists – that is an opportunity missed for them
PST
The theme this season – “Reach New Heights”
We want the girl(s) to REACH NEW HEIGHTS and “be Spotacular” in all that they do –
the girls we have here in GSEM Reach New Heights every day – because they are strong, they are motivated and because they have you as a support – you are encouraging them to create their own path.
We want to introduce you to Ginger the Giraffe and her little girl Ginny who you have to take home with you in your sample bag that you will receive at the end of training
PST
The Program starts on Friday 9/25 – and ends on 10/27
The online programs starts on the same day and end on 10/26 (so all of the online sales can be transferred over to nut-E for credit
Encourage the girls to work on the online part the first weekend – that way the online portion can be working for them as they talk with local friends and family

EXPLAIN SERVICE UNIT EDITS IF THERE ARE NEWBIES

TODD
The online store has 25 traditional items plus and additional 5 items that are slightly more elegant or larger sized items (corporate items)
Customers select items and pay for items plus shipping and receive everything at their home within a short period of time
TODD
QSP has a huge variety of magazine titles –
Traditional paper form and also digital magazines
TODD
Ask the questions on the screen – give time between questions
TODD
Anyone who has a four digit number – you are not longer allowed to be a Fall Sale Service Unit Manager – you either have a huge issue with chocolate or you need to be relaxing on a beach as you have volunteered enough time and it is time to retire
Answers = they don’t need to share
TODD
Two ways for girls to sell
Utilize the online options – creating a girl webpage – she can send a text to mom or dad phone and they can forward to friends and family
She can send emails from her site with the links for nuts and candy and magazines
Paper order forms – the girl can go talk with people one on one and those people can order from her directly – she will collect the money and deliver the product at the end of November – and if the do not have the time to sit an chat that that time – she can give them a business card – which she created when she set up her online store with her personal code and they can also go online, shop from their seats and have the product direct shipped to them
TODD
QSP and GSEM recommend – setting up the Girl Webpage first and them sending emails and then if they want working the face to face option with the order card – this way – it is possible they could be generating sale online while collecting orders on paper
TODD
Girls will supply their Troop Chocolates & Magazines Program Manager with their complete order totals for each variety by the given deadline.
Upon delivery, girls and parents should collect money due for all products ordered and submit ALL funds to the troop by the determined deadline.
TODD
Each night the online completed orders will be sent over to nut-E to the troop and posted for proceeds and the girl for recognitions
The fall sale troop advisor does not need to worry about entering the girls online sales number – as they did in the past – this will happen automatically –
On October 26th – the online sales system will be closed for additional orders – this will be the last evening sales will be transmitted over to nut-E for troop and girl credit
If a girl set up an account last season – all of her email address’ have been saved – and all of the customer ordering information from prior years is also available
TODD
When talking with the troops – encourage them to encourage the families – if they are opting to sell online to set up the online sites first and send out the emails the first week the sale is happening – and send out the texts
The advantage of setting all this up the first week – is 1.) sales can be generating while the sale is going on 2.) if the girl send out the 12 emails in the first week she earns the online email patch
TODD
First steps is for the girl and her parent/guardian to register
TODD
The online sales goal will be set at $150 per girl - Council has set this as the goal for each girl – we will talk more about that in a minute
The icons across the top are the icons that very easy to use
Compose message – this is email message that will be on the main page of the webpage of the girl
Manage contacts – email address
Text & share – all about the texting option
Welcome supporters the page the shoppers will enter
My creation – the place the girl can make her own giraffe patch
TODD
There are step by step instructions within nut-E on how to assist a girl/parent/guardian on how to record and post a video
TODD
We pulled the imbedded video from this page on the girls pitching sale –Share the stat of 72% of customers are more likely to purchase if a video is used
we should play it to show a video
TODD
Recommend sending the emails and testing the first weekend the sale is open – this way they emails can be doing their magic while the girl is selling to friends and family close by
Sample of the email that will be sent –
TODD
TODD
For the friends and family – who don’t check their emails – there is now a texting option
Text the message to parent’s phone and they can forward the link to friends and family -
TODD
– why we encourage sending the emails first and letting your friends and family shop for their seats at home in their PJ’s first – GSEM has sent an online sales goal of $150 and then the girl will earn her MyPatchCreation – patch
Customizable
TODD
TA-DAH!
TODD
How are the girls going to get their patches – of course all the girls who sell on line will reach the $150 because they are all going to do videos, watch their online sales numbers, make follow-up calls and send follow-up emails because they all want this first MY PATCH CREATION UNIQUE PATCH –
An email will be sent to the parent – the email address is pulled from the online registration – the email will ask for the address the patch should be sent to –
The patch will come about 4 weeks after the address is confirmed
Todd
Draw a giraffe on your head – ice breaker
Paper plate in one hand
Marker or pen in another
60 seconds to draw giraffe on your head
Great job everyone
The girls get to do a similar things – but they are not drawing a giraffe on their head – they get to create their own giraffe patch and earn it by selling $150 on product on line
TODD
The next thing a girl can go and the troop can encourage her to do it use the order card and the business cards in the girl packet
TODD
**If the Girl uses a different name on her business cards other than the one she was registered with, (ie: Abigail / Abby), she may not receive credit her for sales toward her girl rewards. The best way to ENSURE that girls receive credit for her sales is to put her unique GIRL Online ID# on the card.
When the girl registered online she will get a unique number to her on her website – use that number on her business card – so when the customer goes to the website on the card they will pull up the right girls webpage
