4. Combined Heat and
Power Generation
Across the world, there is a new emphasis on projects that combine
climate protection and economical primary power generation.
Our combined power generations represent an optimal solution
for a year-round efficient source of process heat and cooling.
Cogeneration
(combined heat and power, CHP)
Cogeneration is the use of a power station
to simultaneously generate both electricity and useful heat. CHP captures the
byproduct heat for domestic or industrial
heating purposes, thus ensuring state of
the art energy efficiencies. CHP plants
usually consist of a fuel burning unit, a heat
recovery steam/hot water generator and
an electrical power generator. Fuel options
are primary natural gas, biomass or liquid
bio-fuels.
Trigeneration (combined cooling,
heating and power, CCHP)
Trigeneration is the simultaneous production of electricity, heat and cooling.
Combining a cogeneration plant with an
absorption refrigeration system allows utilization of seasonal excess heat for cooling
the hot water from the absorption chiller.
The hot exhaust gas from the gas engine
can also then be utilized as an energy
source for a highly efficient, double-effect
steam chiller. In this way, the year-round
capacity utilization and the overall efficiency
of the cogeneration plant can be increased
significantly to levels exceeding 75%. This
means a significant contribution to CO2 emmission reduction.
5. First Class Energy Solutions
M+W Group covers the complete project value chain from consulting
via engineering and construction to turn key handover and operation
services. With almost 100 years of existence and solid financial background M+W Group stands for reliability, commitment and continuity.
EPC-Contracting Services
Using state of the art technologies
M+W Group provides complete solutions
for combined heat & power, such as:
• High-efficient Energy Supply Centers
(ESC) with uninterruptible power supply for highly sensible manufacturing
processes like semiconductor plants
and data centers which require specific
criteria e.g.:
– Voltage tolerance of less than +/-8%
– Voltage drops of max. 10 ms
– Frequency tolerances of less
than +/-1%
• Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power
Plants (CCGT) with wide range of capacity from 15-200 MWel including gas
turbine, heat recovery steam generator
and steam turbine
• Biomass Cogeneration Power Plants up
to 30 MWel using various feed such as
herbal biomass, matured timber, treated
and untreated wood
Extended services increasing
customer’s added value
Already at an early stage of a project
M+W Group provides support to its clients
with high standard consulting services in
various fileds:
• Project development support services
such as
– preparation of financial models and
endorsement in financial negotiation
– developing a proper project structure
– assistance in negotiating of thermal
and electrical power purchase agreements as well as gas and water supply
contracts
• Technical evaluation of different feasible
solutions and improvement of existing
facilities
