Mr. Jack W. Allen
Energy and Business Development Engineer
Mr. Allen has thirty years’ experience in energy conservation, alternative power generation,
facility/process design, optimization and modeling. Mr. Allen also specializes in facility/plant operations,
business development, marketing and finance. Mr. Allen’s expertise covers a broad range of industries
and technologies including; commercial HVAC systems, food processing, refining, biofuels, biomass,
alternative energies, energy conservation, geothermal, distributed power generation and others.
Mr. Allen has been provided consulting and business development services for a variety of clients and
industries. Mr. Allen’s accomplishments include involvement in more than 30 alternative energy facilities
worldwide. A representative sample of Mr. Allen’s industry experience includes:
Bio-fuels: Involved at various levels with the development, design and construction of 30+ bio-fuel
facilities. Core involvement included process piping, process design, instrumentation, industrial
automation, checkout/start-up, power distribution and finance.
Waste to Energy: Under various letters of intent currently developing multiple waste-to-energy
facilities on a Build-Own-Operate business model. Responsible for project feasibility evaluation,
subsidies, permitting, preliminary engineering, corporate structure, in-take/out-take contracts, project
finance, construction management, initial plant operations.
Energy Conservation and Process Optimization Studies: Provide energy use analysis for both
commercial and industrial facilities. Review manufacturing operations/processes for energy use,
process improvements and optimization of process throughput.
Currently developing a well head gas processing system to reduce/eliminate flaring operations at oil
production pad sites. The system will process the flare gas into NGL’s and a methane/ethane fuel
stream which will be use to power engine generator sets to supply electricity to the production site.
Responsible for all aspects of the projects development including: Feasibility studies, preliminary
engineering, corporate structure, in-take/out-take contracts, finance and project management.
Industrial Heat Transfer Systems: Conceived, developed and commercialized the Titan Heat
Transfer™ system an industrialized heat recovery chiller system based on legacy heat pump
technology. Product was brought to market in 2009 and is actively being marketed to the bio-fuels
and food processing industries. The technology is protected by 10 US/worldwide patents.
Geothermal: Provided energy analysis, design and startup services for multiple low temperature
geothermal system applications, including the first conversion of a conventional ice arena to a
geothermal based system in the United States.
Modeling Software: Completed field testing, research and development of a proprietary modeling
software for geothermal systems. Developed a high efficiency motor and variable frequency drive
(VFD) modeling software for Northern States Power.
