The development of electric vehicles (EV) is shifting the way people
and goods move around, with far-reaching implications for
UK energy infrastructure.
Emerging technological innovations, rising customer expectations
alongside Government ambitions, set out in Road to Zero to see at
least half of all new cars and vans to be ultra-low emission by 2030,
are having major implications for the electrical power supply industry.
The rate of EV adoption is highly dependent on the rollout of
charging infrastructure and will require an increasingly large and
powerful network to provide reliable and convenient charging.
Technology is evolving rapidly. In order to achieve the expansion
goals for recharging/green infrastructure, highly skilled programme
managers, project engineers, design & development engineers and
software & controls professionals are required.
We support leading developers in energy storage and demand safe
response (DRS), charging infrastructure and connected solutions
providers to source specialist skill-sets.

5. R E
The Renewable Energy View 2018 (REview 2018) showed that
renewable energy generation reached an all-time high in 2018,
accounting for nearly 30% of UK electricity. Clean technology
is critical to the ongoing campaign for decarbonisation and
sustainability.
Around 80% of UK consumers actively support renewable energy
sources and are eager to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels.
We work with innovators, manufacturers and consultancies to
deliver the right skills to drive sector growth.
Wind power, biomass generation, solar, energy from waste and tidal
power systems and infrastructure are still evolving and new clean
technologies are needed if the UK is to reach its climate targets and
to continue to lead the world in green solutions. Energy storage and
battery technology is pushing the envelope in innovation driven by
the increased focus on electric vehicle development and adoption.
We resource highly skilled and experienced professionals across
the full product lifecycle, from development & construction,
commissioning & operations, design & engineering through to
asset management & project management.

Water is a sector in transition, with industry leaders focused on
moving from passive to active networks, with improved data
quality, agile working and flexible workforces high on the agenda.
Issues including climate change, sustainability and planned
Government changes in workforce and convergence of services
are driving investment in new technologies, including data
analytics, smart grid technology, water metering, water re-use,
blockchain, robotics and low carbon heat.
We work across the water industry, with manufacturers, utilities
and technology companies offering clean water treatment,
wastewater treatment and management, distribution and supply,
civil engineering and infrastructure.
With a skills shortage affecting the rate of evolution, we work
with our clients to find the right candidates in mechanical &
electrical design, maintenance, instrumentation & controls,
connectivity, smart metering, automation & robotics to drive
innovation as well as providing asset management and project
management professionals.

The power industry is undergoing a massive transformation in a
paradigm shift from traditional, non-renewable energy sources
to smart, efficient, clean energy.
The transition to a low-carbon economy is creating its own
complexities; balancing Government’s energy policy objectives
of affordability, security of supply, decarbonisation and
industrial strategy; maintaining output and global competitive
advantage; whilst realising the opportunities of growth,
modernisation and innovation.
Against this dynamic backdrop, we support coal-fueled and CCGT
power plants in their vital role to bridge energy production during
this transition, attracting and sourcing traditional technical power
generation professionals within – operations and maintenance,
managerial, projects & design and health & safety.
We also support innovative, emergent energy from waste, energy
recovery facilities and CHP industries to identify individuals with
transferrable traditional technical skill-sets, while advising and
sourcing the talent needed to meet future requirement for new,
connected technologies.

8. A renaissance is taking place in the nuclear industry.
Nuclear power plays an integral part in the UK’s diverse energy
generation mix, providing a reliable source of low carbon
power that can be produced safely, on a large-scale to meet
decarbonisation targets under the Climate Change Act 2008.
Against a backdrop of increased legislation, an upsurge in
demand, diversified competition and the decommission of ageing
nuclear reactors - ambitious proposals, outlined in the Nuclear
Sector Deal, will ensure nuclear energy continues to power the
UK for years to come.
Planned investment in new-builds will improve the UK’s
competitiveness, domestic capability, energy storage capacity
and export growth, while there is major opportunity to develop
and deploy advanced nuclear technologies, for example
small modular reactors (SMR).
We work with OEMs, EPCs, power plant operators and supply chain
to source security cleared, highly-skilled professionals required
at every stage of the product lifecycle; from the development,
construction and operation of new generation of nuclear power
stations to the decommission of legacy assets.
