– Jonas has to deal with adversity and stress in his community.
– The Giver hepled him deal with his adversity by giving him
memories such as color and pain.
4. Victor’s adversity
• Victor Is starting 7th grade and he
want Teresa to be his girlfriend.
• He follows her to be in the same
classes as her.
5. Victor’s Perseverance
• Victor pretend to know French to
impress Teresa. He was embarrassed
but Teresa believed he knew French.
• Since Victor pretended he knew
French Teresa wanted him to teach
her.
6. Amigo Brother’s
• The Amigo brothers were distracted
because they were best friends and
they had to fight each other.
• They didn’t want their friend ship to
come between the fight.
7. The Amigo
Brothers
•They trained separately to avoid
attention.
•During the fight they tried not to hurt
each other.
•When the fight was over they walked away
together without hearing the winner.
8. Reflection:
• I think that the characters came over
their adversity by standing up for there
rights, doing what’s right, overcoming
there fears and be a big and better
person.
• My favorite character is the old man in
the Giver because he was a great and
powerful person who helped people in the
community.
