Freshman Year Seminar

1. The Survivor Activity
The activity was out of a group of 13 people only 4 can survive to keep the supplies and space
of a bunkers after the Avian Flu whips out the population. Who would you keep? My group
chose:
The single Pregnant woman
The five year old girl
Doctor- (Pediatrician)
And the University Professor (Education)
-We chose the mom because she was pregnant with a child, they both count as one at the
moment and by the time the child is birthed and ready to eat actual food it will be time to get
out of the bunker.
-We chose the five year old girl because it was the moms and she would be awfully mad if we
killed her baby girl. So mad she might kill the rest of them.
-We chose the doctor (Who we chose to be a pediatrician) so she can take care of the pregnant
mother and the little girl
-We chose the University professor (Who we chose to be an education professor) so he could
educate the children and keep the history and knowledge in the new society
We killed the rest of them because we thought they would be a liability to the rest of
the group and may harm the group, or be lazy and not helpful to the new society. The exercise
was difficult to figure out who to kill, because everyone has different beliefs. But the lesson I

2. learned from the exercise was to show that there are many people in society, and whether or
not we think they are important, every type of person is important.
