Importance of Training Need Analysis

  1. Importance of Training Needs AnalysisWelcome to the Presentation titled ”Importance of Training Needs Analysis ”.
  2. Let’s begin by understanding the challenges faced by organizations today.
  3. Competency has become a buzzword in today’s organizations. Every organization is in need of a competent workforce so that it can better attain its goals. But the crux of the matter lies in the fact that, with the passage of time, this workforce competency deteriorates and their skills become obsolete with the advent of technology.
  4. So, what’s the solution to this problem in organizations?.
  5. The answer lies in training because it can help hone new skills required for the job and this subsequently improves performance and sustains competency.
  6. However, training cannot be provided on an ad hoc basis. What is a main prerequisite for training?
  7. Training needs analysis is an essential prerequisite for training. Let’s understand a little more about training needs analysis.
  8. Training need analysis also known as “gap analysis”identifies the performance gaps and determines what training will successfully address any skills deficits.
  9. It is very important to conduct a training needs analysis before rolling out a training program. Let’s see the specific benefits of training needs analysis.
  10. Training needs analysis is one of those strategic initiatives taken to delve deeper into the ways of enriching the competency, capability and the potential of the organization.
  11. With the successful deployment of Training Need Analysis, the organization is in a position to evaluate better outcomes with an optimum utilization of its resources. Thus, it streamlines the organizational objectives and goals. It also helps in building credibility among its stakeholders
  12. It also takes note of the efficiency guidelines – labor cost, waste minimization, distribution time and production rates. It’s through the in-depth analysis that all the parameters are recorded – the data so obtained reveals the areas of requirement of training.
  13. This analysis will give answers to questions like how relevant is training for employees. If trained, will they show any difference by improving their job performance? It thus examines the benefits of training in terms of improving job performance. .
  14. It also helps to analyze how the improved performance will enable the achievement of organizational goals.
  15. Training needs analysis also gauges the standards that need to be followed by employees so as to maintain their competency level.
  16. It also documents in detail the areas in which employees lag behind. Is it in terms of Knowledge, Skills or Attitude? With this understanding, training can be developed to address the specific needs of the employees.
  17. Training needs analysis identifies the list of the skills or knowledge your employees need in order to achieve organizational goals. Organizations need to perform a training needs analysis before rolling out any training program in order to ensure their efforts are used in the right direction.
  18. Lack of information and employee awareness is a major threat to Information Security. Well-thought out training program is the key to ensure that your organization’s data is protected and secured at all times.
