COORDINATIVE CONJUCNTION
(and, But, or)
Conjunctions are the words that join
or connect the words, clauses or
sentences.
Coordinative conjunctions are the
conjunctions that join the
words, clauses, or sentences of equal
rank / grammatical.
1. Coordinative conjunction of “And”.
And is used for to add
information to the first sentence.
The Examples are
a). You should eat nutritious food
and take exercise regularly.
b). The students swept the
classroom floor and cleaned the
whiteboard.
2. Coordinative conjunction of “But”.
“But” is used for to contrast
between the first sentence to the
second sentence.
The examples are
a). He is smart but he is lazy.
b). Susi often studies hard but she
always gets bad score..
3. Coordinative conjunction of “Or”.
“Or” is used for to show the choices.
The Examples are
a). You must study hard for the
exam, or you will fail it.
b). What do you want, a glass of
an orange juice or a bottle of
mineral water?
