Optional PNR elements
 Next to the mandatory elements, a PNR can include a variety of optional
elements, such as:
– Special Service Request (SR)

to request a special service for a passenger
For example: special meals, wheelchairs ...

– Other Service Information (OS)
•

to advise airlines personnel about special passenger information in order to assist
in passenger handling
For example: info about VIP passenger...

– Remark element (RM)
•

Contains additional information regarding a passenger or reservation
For example: inform passenger about penalties, or terminal changes ...

– Optional element (OP)
•

To remind yourself about some action on a specific date
For example: check visa ...

Communicating with Airlines
 There are two ways of communication:
– Other Service Information (OS)
•

it is advice only element, so it does not require a response from the
airline

– Special Service Requests (SR)
•

It requires a response from the airline involved

Other Service Information (OS)
 When you enter an OSI element to the PNR, the system automatically
generates a message to the airlines concerned, at the end of transaction.
 It is the free format text

Note: When you enter OS element to a PNR, do not forget to enter again RF element, and ET or ER!

Special Service Request (SR)
 You use SSR element to request a special service for a passenger
 You can request:
– Special meals (baby meal, diabetic meal, moslem meal, seafood meal,
vegeterian meal ...)
– Animals in hold or pets in cabin
– Baby basket
– Wheelchairs
– Meet and assist ...

 Notes:
– Meals can only be requested on confirmed flight segments
– Only one special meal may be requested per passenger and per segment

How to request meals?
 To list the meal codes enter: HE MEAL or MS22
 Before entering the request, it is mandatory to read airline
info pages: GG AIR XX MEAL (XX-airline code)
 To request meals:
– SR VGML/P1,2 – to associate request for passengers 1 and 2
– SR BBML/S4 - to associate request for segments

Special Passenger Handling
 Unaccompanied minor
– Unaccompanied minors (5 – 12 years) require special handling when
travelling
– Any other passenger type in the same PNR with an unaccompanied
minor cannot be included
– Beware to check the relevant airline pages: GG AIR XX MINOR

Special Handling Segments
 Open segments (SO)
– When a passenger does not know the exact time or date of travel,
you can enter an open segment in the itinerary
– Open segments maintain segment continuity, and can be used for
pricing and ticketing
– An Amadeus PNR cannot be completely composed of open segments

Special Handling Segments – SI ARNK
 Arrival Unknown (SI)
– Means that the method of transportation from the destination of one
segment to the origin of the next segment is not known (for example:
one segment the passenger will go by car or by rail)
– An arrival unknown segment is an information segment you enter in
the PNR to maintain segment continuity

Seat Reservation
 You can request a seat map (SM) in three ways:
1. Without a PNR (Seat Map for a specific flight)
2. From a PNR display
3. From an Availability or Schedule display

1. Seat map without PNR
 To show a seat map for a flight that is not a PNR segment, enter the
transaction code SM followed by the flight number, and class, the date
and the departure and arrival cities:

SM: transaction code
LH 401: airline code and flight number
/C: slash delimiter followed by class of service
/12 FEB: slash delimiter followed by date
JFK FRA: departure and arrival cities

 With certain airlines, you can display a seat map for all classes of service.
To do this, you leave out the class of service from the entry, for example:

 To request a seat map from the PNR, enter:

 To request a seat map from availability display, enter:

Where:
– SM: transaction code
– /1: Slash followed by line number
– /H: Slash followed by class

 For example:

Advance Seat Request
 Through the Amadeus System you can request and confirm an advance,
specific type of seat, for a passenger
– However, it could be done only with flight segments that have: HK, KK, TK, RR,
LK, SS!

 To request non-smoking seat, enter: ST
 To request the seat near the window for the first passenger: ST/W/P1
 To request the aisle seat: ST/A
