Amadeus Environments
 There are two different environments in Amadeus:
– Amadeus Production Environment
• to make real bookings for passengers
– Amadeus Training Environment
• to learn and practice
• a separate system dedicated to deliver training

Connection to Amadeus Selling Platform
 If in production environment then launch the Amadeus
Selling Platform
– Start Internet Explorer
– Enter the URL: http://amadeusvista.com
– Click on Launch Amadeus Selling Platform

 Office ID:
– Each office (Travel Agency, Airline, Hotel Provider, etc.) is
known by a unique Office ID in Amadeus
– A nine-character code consists of:
BEG 1A0 901
City Code
Corporate Code
and Qualifier
Office Code

 Each terminal connected to Amadeus at each office is known by a unique
eight-character code called Terminal Address such as:

Duty codes in Amadeus
 Each sign has one duty code or several duty codes attached
which defines rights and duties of the sign
– AS: Agent sell (Travel agents only)
– CE: Customer engineer
– GS: General sales agent
– PD: Pre/Post departure agent
– PR: Programmer
– RC: Space Control
– SU: Supervisor
– TR: TTY reject agent

Work Areas
 For each terminal, there are six work areas
– When agents share a terminal, each agent can work independently in
a different area
– When only one agent uses a terminal, that Agent can use all six-work
areas
 The areas are identified as A, B, C, D, E, and F
– Multiple work areas enable you to perform different transactions in
different areas
 Work area by default is A!

– To check if you are in Training environment

– The date should be 5 weeks before current date (today’s date)

 The AIS is a central source of reference information organised in
categories, subjects, and pages
 There are two types of information in AIS:
– Information provided and maintained by Amadeus
– Information provided and maintained by outside providers (e.g. Lufthansa)

Airport (APT) Information
 Airport information is obtained from different airport authorities and/or
airlines
 For each airport, five subjects are available:
– General information
– Parking information
– Check-in information (terminal name or number, and names of airlines
departing and arriving from that terminal)
– Airport facilities information (banks, lounges, post office, and other)
– Ground surface transportation information (transportation services between
airport and major cities)
 To access the airport pages, enter: GG APT XXX (Where XXX stands for the
airport code)
