1. Lesotho, also known as the kingdom in the sky, is a landlocked country
famous for its stunning mountainous terrain and unique tourism attractions. It
is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. We have

2. MALETSUNYANE FALLS
Probably one of the most spectacular natural sites in
Lesotho is the imposing Maletsunyane falls, which
with a gigantic and unique 200 meter drop,
thunderously cascade down from the heights of Thaba
Putsoa mountains, near the quaint village of
Semonkong which in the local language means ‘place
of smoke’, because of the watery and ‘smoky’ dust that
is released by the bursting energy of the waterfall,
enveloping the atmosphere for hundreds of meters.
3. MALOTI MOUNTAINS
The Maloti Mountains dominate the
landscape of Lesotho, offering breathtaking
scenery and a paradise for outdoor
enthusiasts. These rugged mountains
provide a stunning backdrop for various
activities such as hiking, mountain biking
and rock climbing. Visitors can explore the
remote valleys, crystal clear rivers and high
altitude plateaus that make the Maloti
Mountains a must visit destination for
nature lovers.
4. TSEHLANYANE NATIONAL PARK
Tsehlanyane National Park is located in the Lesotho
Highlands Area, which is adorned with some of the most
outstanding natural assets our Kingdom of Lesotho has to
offer. These treasures are protected under several statutes
including the National Environment Act, No. 10 of 2008,
which is based on the principles that every person in Lesotho
has a right to a clean and healthy environment and that
sustainable development is founded on the sound
management of the environment.
5. SEHLABATHEBE NATIONAL PARK
Another must visit wildlife park in Lesotho
is Sehlabathebe National Park, a remote and
pristine wilderness located in the southern
part of the country. This park renowned for
its unique alpine flora, which include rare
species like the spiral aloe and the Maloti
minnow. Sehlabathebe is also a haven for
birdwatchers, with over 200 species of birds
recorded within its boundaries, its also a
home variety of wildlife such as mountain
reedbuck, grey rhebuck and the elusive

6. SANI PASS
Sani pass is one of the most iconic mountain
passes in Africa, the Sani Pass connects Lesotho to
South Africa and offers a thrilling adventure for
tourists. This winding mountain road climbs to
over 2800 meters above sea level, providing
panoramic views of the surrounding mountains
and valleys. Visitors can embark on a guided tour
or drive up the pass themselves, experiencing the
dramatic scenery and rich biodiversity along the
way.

7. KHALO LA LITHUNYA (A1) (PASS OF GUNS)
The pass connects Mokhotlong in the east with the
northern villages, as well as the Afriski Resort via the
main route –A1. This is an extremely high altitude pass.
It’s lowest point is higher than the highest pass in South
Africa. Assuming fine weather, the pass should present no
problems other than a lack of power in your vehicle due
to the oxygen starved air and the very real possibility of
experiencing headaches and nose bleeds.
8. MOTENG PASS
The Moteng pass is a steep tarred pass in the Maluti
mountains of Lesotho, reaching a height of 2820
meters. It is one of two passes that links the town of
Butha-Buthe with a diamond mining town
Mokhotlong, the other pass being Mahlasela pass.
Heavy snowfalls frequently closes the pass in winter.
The pass is 7.9 km long, with the last stage being
extremely dangerous in winter due to frequent patches
of ice.

9. HA KOME CAVES
Ha kome caves are situated at Pulane area in
Berea district. The cave served as a hideout for
Basia and one Bataung clans during the
Lifaqane wars and cannibalism. The cave also
faded San paintings in the cave which indicates
that the San also occupied the cave. There is
Kome crafts and information office where local
crafts rea displayed. Picnics, pony trekking, tour
of Kome Cave Village are organized from the
crafts and information centre.
