This year we have been so fortunate to have IDA as partner.
We are both partners dedicated to helping companies realise their full innovation potential and are working to make innovation tangible for corporate leaders, so they can lead the required change within their organizations. But also to make sure that companies set the bar extremely high when it comes to the SDG goals.

Thomas: There is a disconnect between top management and the rest of the organisation.
Middle managers suffers the most and seems to be left with the ungrateful task of balancing portfolios, managing culture and transforming businesses at the same time.
Practitioners are in desperate need of guiding, but do not have right kind of support or knowledge for innovation to manifest in their everyday work.
Thomas
Thomas: Even though the landscape looks bleak, there are rays of light to be found.
There is a significant correlation between companies who invest +6% of their budget in innovation and their innovation capacities.
The companies who understand that innovation needs support, both economically and managerially, rate significantly higher in both Strategy, Management and Practice.

Thomas: Of all the questions we asked, one of the lowest-scoring was about failure. Failure is rarely seen as a learning opportunity and is still regarded as a taboo best avoided. It is eye-opening how extensive differences there are between how Senior Executives and Practitioners perceive failure.
You and your company are going to fail. But that is okay and part of the innovation
journey.

Maria: The companies with the highest chance of succeeding have a significant amount of leaders that everyday practice what we call “active change leadership”. It is not an easy job being a leader in a fast-changing world.
But our message is still clear; you have to take active part of the innovation and make smart investments to facilitate the transition. The same principles can be said about how a company in a structure way succeed with integrating the SDG goals and making smart business.
