2. When we first watch the title sequence to this film, it just pitch black, with only
sounds you’d expect to hear when thinking of space, e.g. astronauts speaking, and
the buzzing, this gives a clear indication, without even any images on the screen
that the film is going to be about space. I think this is vital as the name doesn’t
give away that its about space and so due to the sounds, it gives the audience and
idea of what the films going to be about.
3. We then see a flashing blue light which zooms in from a distance, with someone talking over the top,
about space, saying ‘isn’t it amazing’ , with direct address to the audience as what he’s talking about
comes on the screen.
4. When we’re first introduced with a title, we first see production name whilst the talking
about space continues, this starts close up and all we see is just blue flashing and then
zooms out to the production name. We then see the directors name, the sound then
becomes louder and louder, when it pans out of the title which goes from blue to white.
I think the title design is also very good as it includes a rocket giving us the idea that its
obviously going to be about space.
5. When then see the main actors name which pans out, I think they used the main actors name to draw attention and for
advertisement. I liked how there was an ongoing theme of it starting with blue flashing and then panned out going to blue
writing, with a black background and then the writing turning to white. They used a constant colour scheme of black, blue
and white. Due to the title sequence having this ongoing theme I think that’s why they used the astronauts speaking
overlying the title sequence to make it more interesting and less boring, because then it makes people tune out and not
want to watch anymore.
