Gay marriage and the rights of LGBTQ individuals have been a long struggle. 5. WHAT IS GENERAL IDEA ON GAY MARRIAGE ?
• In our country homosexuality is thought as psychological desease, emotional
problem and genetic disorders in general.
• Homosexuals are subjected to discrimination and prejudice in many cultures.
• Less acceptance in Asia and Africa
• More acceptance in Europe, America and Australia
• In some country gay marriage is excepted and new laws is implemented for them.

Mental Health
Bad Behavior to Gays: According to a research in U.S, young people hear some words
like ‘homo’ and ‘sissy’ in every fourteen minutes.
Violence to Homosexuals: Because of offensive and condeming society and rejection
by family, gay and lesbian youngs can kill themselves, have some problems in school
and become alone.
8. Physical Health
• Gay and lesbian people can be subject of physical abuse because of being
homosexual.
• For example, Matthew Shepard was attached to a fence and was beaten
to death so he died in 1998. Sexual orientation was included in hate
crime with this event.
• On the other hand, lesbian women can be raped to return to
heterosexuality .
9. CAN THEY ADOPT CHILDREN ?
• Some people say that children need a mother and a father to raise us;
to provide both viewpoints of gender: masculinity, femininity and all
the issues those entail. However, there are many who believe that
gender does not matter when parenting.
10. • As reported on the 2000 Census, about 65,000 children lived with
same sex parents. In 2012, 110,000 live with gay parents. Of the total
amount of children in U.S. households, less than 1% live with same-
sex parents. Therefore, children with same-sex parents are still far
and away a minority.
11. CHILDREN OF GAY COUPLES ARE SUCCESSFUL
A research in Germany shows that children of gay couples’ personality is quite positive. Federal
Justice Minister Brigitte Zypries said that ‘’ The research indicates that gay couples are as good
as heterosexual couples. Children are exposed to swearing but they are not affected. When they
come home, they explain their problems with their parents. On the other hand, children are
quite pleased being gay couples’ children.

• On May 17, 2004, the first legal gay marriage in the United States was performed in Cambridge, MA between
Tanya McCloskey, a massage therapist, and Marcia Kadish, an employment manager at an engineering firm.
• The world's first legal gay marriage ceremony took place in the Netherlands on Apr. 1, 2001, just after midnight.
The four couples, one female and three male, were married in a televised ceremony officiated by the mayor of
Amsterdam.
• The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Dec. 17, 2009 that extending employment benefits to same-sex
domestic partners of federal employees would cost the federal government $596 million in mandatory spending
and $302 million in discretionary spending between 2010 and 2019.
14. • An Oct. 2, 2009 analysis by the New York Times estimated that same-sex couples denied marriage
benefits will incur an additional $41,196 to $467,562 in expenses over their lifetimes compared
with married heterosexual couples.
• The Catholic Church, United Methodist Church, Southern Baptist Convention, Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, National Association of Evangelicals, and American Baptist Churches
USA all oppose same-sex marriage.
