WHAT IS A MOOC?
A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC; is an online programme directed at:
unlimited participation as well as open access via the web.
Furthermore it includes traditional course materials namely:
videos, readings, and problem sets.
“MOOC’s” provide interactive user fora which assists in constructing a community for
learners, professors, as well as teaching assistants (TAs).
“MOOC’s” is a recent development in distance education.[1]
WHY ARE MOOC’S USEFUL?
• Mooc’s are easy accessible to teachers as well as learners.
• It enables teachers and learners to work collaboratively in solving issues co-
operatively.
• The Mooc courses broadens learners horizons.
• Assists learners outside the school therefore in dealing with real life situations.

context and is extremely vital to teachers/learners in solving problems which
allows them to think :

• Creatively
• Innovatively
• Increases their own capability

• Provide creative solutions to the problem.

Furthermore it includes traditional course materials namely: videos, readings, and problem sets. “MOOC’s” provide interactive user fora which assists in constructing a community for learners, professors, as well as teaching assistants (TAs). “MOOC’s” is a recent development in distance education.[1]

WHY ARE MOOC’S USEFUL? • Mooc’s are easy accessible to teachers as well as learners. • It enables teachers and learners to work collaboratively in solving issues co- operatively. • The Mooc courses broadens learners horizons. • Assists learners outside the school therefore in dealing with real life situations.
