Request to Use Anonymised Classroom Photos in Pre-Service Teacher E-Portfolio
1. “I am writing to request your permission to use anonymised photographs of your child’s classroom,
including anonymised samples of student work, in a pre-service teacher e-portfolio.
I am a pre-service teacher in the final year of my M. Teach program in the Graduate School of
Education at The University of Western Australia. I am currently taking the unit EDUC 5618;
“Teaching and Learning with Information and Communication Technologies”. During this unit, I am
required to put together an e-portfolio demonstrating that I have reached the required Graduate
Level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. This requires me to include evidence of,
and artefacts from, my teaching experience in schools.
I would like to make use of photos taken in your child’s classroom, including samples of children’s
work. All photos will be anonymised, with faces and any other identifying details (such as names on
books or school logos) blurred out. At no time will any child or school be identifiable in these
materials. They will be uploaded into a password-protected e-portfolio space, which will only be
accessed by UWA staff, my fellow pre-service teachers, and principals or deputies at schools where I
may apply for employment.
I would appreciate you granting permission for me to use these photos, which will support my pre -
service teacher training and help me become a fully qualified teacher in West Australian schools.”
