SUBJECT:
“HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE EDUCATION AND
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF PEDAGOGY”
2. Historical development of education.
Education is so widespread that it is not
lacking in any society or at any time in
history. In any society, however primitive,
we find that man is educated.
The primitive peoples lacked teachers,
schools and teaching doctrines, yet they
educated man, involving him and
pressuring him with the totality of the
actions and reactions of his rudimentary
social life.
3. Education through the years
The influence of the catholic church (16th Century).
Development of science in the (17th century).
The monitorial method of teaching was introduced, whereby hundreds of people
could learn with a teacher and the help of student monitors or assistants (18th century)
The emergence of national schooling systems (19th century)
Child-centred education (20th century)
4. Pedagogy as a historical movement was born in the
second half of the 19th century. It recognizes serious
antecedents up to the eighteenth century, but is
affirmed and strengthened in the twentieth century,
particularly after the First World War.
social.
Historical development of pedagogy
5. The traditional pedagogical trend does not deepen the
knowledge of the mechanisms through which the learning
process is developed, She models the knowledge and skills
to be attained in the student, so that his theoretical thinking
never reaches a complete development.
