Grand theft Auto
“Grand Theft Auto (officially abbreviated GTA) is an action-adventure video game
series created by David Jones and Mike Dailly.” GTA Is a video game that allows
for players to explore an open world of corruption. Without rules and as much
mayhem and carnage as the player can create. This officially covers the
underworld of illegal activity and shows the play what it would be like to be a
criminal.
3. What am I adapting it into
Grand Theft ‘Dead men cant die’
I will be adapting the GTA Video game into a movie, this is because of the
developments in technology. As well as the ability to create more believable and
realistic CGI effects. This type of movie is much more creatable due to the
developments in technology and the use of dedicated set and prop designers as
well as skilled CGI artists and software/hardware.
4. Genre and narrative
Genre: Action, Drama, Fiction,
Gangster Film.
As a movie the Grand theft movie
would fall into many other genres,
most of them being surrounded by
what comes with a gangster movie
such as action and drama.
Narrative:
years after the events of San Andreas Grove Street has also developed along with gang
warfare. The movie follows a specific character called Lucifer AKA Lucky, the movie
follows how 'Lucky' grows to own the grove and becomes one of the most respected
gangster within San Andreas. His growth to power is more emotional because of his
motive for becoming the most powerful person in the city. After the death of his brother
due to mistaken identity Lucky finds himself killing the people who killed his brother, and
then falls into a life of a criminal. This is one of defining parts of the narrative and after a
few years of low level crime lucky steps his game up and decides to earn a lot of money.
Calling in old friends such as Lester one of the best heist planners of all time a much
older and crazier Lester plans that robbery that ultimately leads to lucky's betrayal. And
ends with Lucky going for the boss of the all of the illegal activity within San Andreas
Marko Salvator.
5. Constraints and opportunities
One of the constraints on the adaption may copy right however this is easily
overcome if there is backing from the Rock Star Corporation. This would mean
all of the rights that Rock Star own would allow for the movie to be covered and
means that the adaptation will be much more successful. Following this some of
the constrains of the movie may be the adaptation of pointless violence imitated
by children. This is a problem that arises ever time a new GTA game comes out
and could also cause a problem if the movie is created is the effects of the movie
on children. however because more movie theater's are doing age checks this
means that children wont be able to see the movie as easy. it is also the
responsibility of the parent to make sure they are monitoring what there children
are watching and not buying inappropriate age restricted content for children.
6. Constraints and opportunities
Some of the opportunities that the 'Grand Theft' movie could bring is a
sequel. This could increase the revenue and create an even bigger
franchise for the GTA Promotion. this could lead to much more money
to be spent on much bigger games and movies in partnership with
RockStar games. Another opportunity that could arise after the creation
of the movies is more chances to create more adaptations such as R
rated animations and other content that could increase the promotion of
the GTA franchise.
7. Audience
The primary audience for a movie lie this is an male audience, this is because
typically males are more likely to watch and action movie over women.The age
of this audience is aged form 18 to 28. This age range is effective because of
the interests of people at this stage in their life action appeals to young men
because typically violence appeal to the more primitive side of the male mind.
The socio-economical classing of this audience is D-C this is because i think
that more university stunts will tend to watch this movie because of its John
Wick typed action and the block buster movie title from GTA.
The secondary audience for this movie i would say are slightly older men aged
from 30-40. this would tend to be the age of the secondary audience because
these men don't have as much time to watch movies but i think 'Grand Theft'
would allow for this audience to make time to watch it. The socio-economical
class off this audience is C1-B this is because of the age of the audience and
they have had much more time to develop a career and become higher up in
the corporate ladder.
8. Story board CUT
The Final scene
Is one of lucky's biggest battles, this is because it is against Marko Salvator. This
is the ultimate final scene, because it is what Lucky has worked towards thought
the events of the movie. The scene begins with lucky and his team storming the
lobby matrix style. moving there way up from floor to floor killing everyone when
finally they get tot the top and the elevator opens and only lucky is standing there
covered in blood. Eyes filled with rage set on Marko lucky shoots the last two
security guards and while walking forward. Marko all dressed in white walks over
to the bar and gets himself a drink. On the balcony (made of a glass floor) Marko
stands and says it was just good business and lucky shoots the floor watching
Marko fall though the floor to his death.
10. PlansThe plan for my this story is to begin the whole of the
movie and the revenge plot of some sequels that might
come out after this movie is created. The use of the epic
pent house battle shows the audience what Lucky is
capable of at the beginning of the movie and only shows
what after he has lost something the rage that he can
expel on others. The use of no questions asked and guns
first approach is shown in this story board with a vey john
wick killing artistic point of view.
This should appeal to the target audience because it
allows for fans of GTA to get what they are used to
seeing. A person with a motive achieving their end goal no
matter what the costs or how much carnage they
accumulate.
