is the fact the audience find
everything out at the same time as
the character, we have no ‘inside
knowledge’ so therefore are in the
same position as the character,
completely unaware of what to
expect.
Paranormal Activity The use and effect of time lapsing.
What are these periods of time
building up to? What are these
periods of time hiding?
This could also be inspirational as
we can keep what has happened
or what is going to happen quite
ambiguous.
American Horror Story The use of POV shots (throughout
all series) Who is watching the
characters? What do they want
with the characters?
This could be inspirational as we
plan on using a ‘Mysterious
Creature’ in our OTS who watches
Amber.

they follow the common conventions of a
supernatural horror.

about the opening sequence which they
would hope to find out later in the rest of the
film.
