CITING WEB SOURCES
All writing must be YOUR WORDS ONLY. Cutting and pasting from online
sources is plagiarism and will result in a grade of 0 out of 100. I will randomly
check papers by googling suspicious passages.
You must cite all your sources, INCLUDING and ESPECIALLY WEB
SOURCES.
Please list the author if one is given (not the case for many wiki-sites), website,
article, and sub-heading. Provide a direct link to the URL.
3. Example:
[1] A world History of Art, Art of the Greeks: Archaic Period
http://all-art.org/history52.html
You cannot “quote” anonymous sources, and I’m not interested in reading a lot of
poorly re-worded passages from the internet. You need to say everything in
your own words. Providing citations is essential, remember that plagiarism
results in a 0 grade for this project.
Verbs of Communication
These verbs describe how a subject communicates. In art criticism they are useful during the
interpretation and evaluation of an artwork, but please do not use a word just for the sake of it or
if you are unsure of its meaning.
