2. Plot summary
This is a radio drama based on The Eagles song “Hotel California”,
where guests that come to stay at the hotel soon find out it isn’t like
any other and they become addicted to the life style and atmosphere
of the house until one travelling book writer comes to the hotel and we
follow his experience there.
3. Character profiles and casting
• Cole Stephens played by Kyle chandler - main character a writer thats travelling
around America and writing a book on his experiences.
Kyle would be successful in this role because of his iconic voice and also tension
building skills. He has also played major roles before in Friday night lights, wolf of wall
street and blood line so will also increase the target audience.
• Charlotte Rodgers played by Connie Britton - Guest at the hotel ran away from
home had no where to stay and was hitch hiking when she found the hotel. Popular
at the hotel and was good friends with Mr. and Mrs. Thompson.
Connie is used to working with Kyle and so they will project the chemistry into the
drama and also this means they will work well together.
• Ralph Montigew played by Evan Peters- The owner of the hotel, share wealth by
letting people stay at his hotel to "live" lonely however only have feelings for his
deceased wife.
Evan Peters would be successful in this roll because he has played an owner of the
hotel in American Horror story hotel where he created a brilliant accent which would
be also perfect for this role.
4. Scheduling
This will be played Thursday evening at 8pm for an hour ever week for
6 episodes then a two week break before the other 6 episodes that will
be played at the same time. This will appeal to the audience because
they can listen to this after work.
5. Target audience
The target audience will be mainly a older audience around 40-50 year
old females because they will (most likely) know the song by the eagles
called hotel California. These genres will also be popular with this
audience because females like horrors and dramas.
The story plot will also mean that people this age will be able to
understand and empathies with the characters where as young
generations either wont be able to relate or not care.
6. Post Broadcast
We have a variety of plans for the radio drama in post production to
raises revenue. These are to release CD audio books and also upload
the drama to I tunes so people can buy it and listen to it at their own
will, also posters and a DVD extra of how the product was made.
