Sasha is passionate about figure skating. If she was not passionate about this sport she would not be a figure skater because you have to be passionate or really like this sport to do it. This is
evident because Sasha is willing to get up early in the morning for skating practice and she has to practice a great deal to become skilled at it, like she is. Also in the book Sasha says
”Gymnastics was soon forgotten and Skating became my new Passion.”
Sasha is determined because she tries so hard to land all of her jumps and and if she does not land them then she will try very hard to land then and get extra help from her coaches. In the book
it Sasha says “...even more determined to master my jumps.” From when she was younger it was her dream to go to the Olympics and she has worked hard enough and deserved the silver
medal she won at the 2006 Olympics in Torino.
Sasha is confident because she knows she will go far if she tries hard enough. She works very hard so she can win all of her competitions and go to the Olympics. If she was not confident,
Sasha probably would not be at the Olympics or be where she is now because she would think negatively of herself which would bring down her self-esteem. Sasha would definitely have to be
confident because she has to believe in herself that she can go to the Olympics.
Sasha is Goal-oriented because she has her mind set on winning an Olympic Gold medal. From when she was very young, she had a dream to skate at the Winter Olympics. After seeing
Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski win Gold medals at the Olympics, she became even more goal-oriented.
Sasha is artistic because in order to figure skate, you have to move to the music gracefully and have an artistic way about you. You must learn to ‘feel the music’ when you skate and she takes
on an artistic quality when she skates to her routines.
5. Design a Room
This is a ballet room with weights and a yoga mat to stretch. It is next to the rink where she spends almost all of
her free time. The ballet room is a place to ‘get away’ without really going too far.
6. Hero Medal
Sasha Cohen’s Olympic Silver Medal for
Figure Skating at the 2006 Olympic
Winter Games in Torino, Italy. I chose this 2006
medal because this is the most important
event in Sasha’s life so far. It is probably Winter Olympic Silver Medal
