This document provides information about the unsigned band This Wicked Tongue and their song "Your Hands" that will be used in a music video. It notes that the song contains male and female vocals and clear separate sections. It also discusses conventions of rock music videos including a focus on live performance, rebellious elements, chaos, and large crowds. The target audience for the video is described as 17-25 year olds who like attending live shows and loud rock music. The proposed idea for the video is to combine live performance shots of the band on stage and in an open field with a narrative storyline focusing on the singers' relationship and amplifying the song's lyrics.
2. The band and song
This Wicked Tongue are an unsigned band from Worcester who are always playing local gigs and are releasing their
debut album later this year.
The song I am using is ‘Your Hands’..

This song has clear separate sections throughout which will add interest to the video, it also contains both male and
female vocals.
3. Genre Conventions
I've looked at other music videos for this same genre of music and noticed the following..
• Almost every rock video is very performance based
• They all have rebellious elements
• Lots of chaos
• Frequent use of large crowds of people
Here is one ofThis Wicked Tongue’s previous videos where you can clearly see their rebellious, angry and chaotic
nature..

Here is the foo fighters video where you can also see these same attributes

4. Audience
The audience is 17-25 year olds.
Falling into C2/D on the jicnar scale.
People who like going out and often attend live gigs.
They love loud rock music and mosh pits...
This sort of audience want to feel the element of live performance and see what that band would be like
to see live all from their music video.
5. Idea
The actual band will feature in my music video, because of this I need to make sure I portray their
individual star persona and the band’s image. I want to combine the element of live performance with a
narrative.
I will use live miming shots mainly from two different locations, one with the band on a stage as if there
were doing a gig with a crowd (possibly the mars bar) and the other of band and all their instruments
in a large open field with the sun setting behind them.
The performance shots will be interspersed between the narrative which will mainly contain the two
singers acting a kind of abstract relationship story using mainly amplification of the lyrics. Using
various different settings: house, car, town…
