LESSON OBJECTIVES:
After completing this lesson, the student will be able to:
1. Execute finger waving, pin curling, roller setting, and hair
wrapping.
2. OVERVIE
W Fingerwave & Pincurls
Fingerwave is the art of shaping & defining hair into graceful
waves
Created by molding two complete alternating oblong shapes
that are joined by a ridge
Position of fingerwaves can vary according to imagination and
client’s natural growth patterns
3. TOOLS USED IN WET HAIRSTLING
• Cushion Brush: Relax a set, back brush or smooth the surface
• Rollers: Create a more structured finish to a wet design
• Molding Comb: Distribute and mold the hair
• Master Sketcher: Backcomb and smooth the hair
• Fine-Tooth Tail Comb: Distribute, mold, part and scale
• Wide-Tooth Tail Comb: Backcomb and finish the hair
• Liquid Tools: Add shine and a range of support to hair
• Pins: Bobby pins, hair pins
• Clips: Duckbill, sectioning clamps, finger waving, double prong, and single prong
4. DISTRIBUTE
The direction the hair is combed or dispersed over the curve of the head
WET hairstyling –FINGER-WAVING
LOTION
FINGER-WAVING LOTION
Finger-waving lotion, also known as liquid gel, is a type
of hair gel that makes the hair pliable enough to
keep it in place during the finger-waving procedure.
1. Purpose
a. Makes hair pliable and holds in place
• Dilute for use on fine hair
• Can be concentrated for use on regular or coarse hair
• Will not harm the hair and doesn’t flake when dry
• Apply to one section of the head at a time.
b. Karaya gum
• Made from karaya gum
• Found in trees of Africa and India
5. OBJECTIVES
Identifying the six procedure for wet hair setting
1. Distribute; 2. Mold; 3. Scale; 4. Part; 5. Apply; 6. Finish
Demonstrate how to perform; A Fingerwave; Fingerwave with Pincurls & Roller
Construction
Demonstrate wet hair design techniques within 45 minutes with 85% accuracy
At the conclusion of class each student will be able to:
6. PRACTICE SAFETY & SANITATION
• Do not perform the service if you see CADD’s
• Wash your hands with soap before you begin the
service
• Set-up your SMA
7. DISTRIBUTE
The direction the hair is combed or dispersed over the curve of the head
• PARALLEL: Straight Lines
• RADIAL: Curved Lines

8. Steps to forming A FINGERWAVE
Step to forming a fingerwave:
An oblong is an elongated curvature shape
With many parallel curvature shape “C” lines inside
Within the “C” shape there is an ARC-the center of a “C” shape or the widest point
At the begin of the “C” shape is the point of origin
To make a “S” patter
You need two oblong shapes joined by a ridge to
create an alternating oblong or alternating wave

9. WET HAIRSTYLING A FINGERWAVE
SETTING A FINGERWAVE:
There are 6 steps to setting a fingerwave with pincurls
1. Distribute
2. Mold
3. Scale
4. Part
5. Apply

#6….FINISH
Also referred to as comb-out
5 steps
1. Relax:
Blending between partings and softening curl
texture
2. Dry Mold:
Reinforcement of established line within the
design
3. Back brush/Backcomb: (optional)
Also known as French Lacing
Creates height and control form,
4. Define the Form:
Smoothing the surface of the hair
5. Detail:
Adding finishing touches
14. APPLICATION
• Student performs fingerwave with pincurls and roller placement
• Instructor supervise student performance closely
• Instructor corrects students' errors in a positive manner
• Student demonstrates good work habits
I will be Demonstrating how to properly form a FINGERWAVE, with PINCURLS, and with
ROLLERS application.
We will go through all the necessary step that must be perform.
PLEASE take note an ask as much question as possible.
Any question or thought is a GREAT , GREAT 1
