2. Universal Design
Universal Design for Learning is about designing
learning experiences that work for all students no
matter who they are, and is used to ensure that
all students are successful learners in meeting
their learning goals.
3. Why?
UDL is an important concept to be utilized in all
classrooms because there is no such thing as
an average student.
Within each class there is a wide variety of
students who all have different:
Past
Learning Styles
Cultures
Goals
4. How?
Implementing UDL is all about
using a variety of different
materials and teaching styles
within the same unit and/or
lesson.
The more variety you use the
more students you can reach
successfully.
5. What to use?
The materials used should
vary greatly. And should try
to cover as many learning
styles as possible.
Including:
Visual- using
posters, pictures, and
videos.
Audio- Music, rhymes, and
lecture.
Bodily-Kinesthetic- Using
activities , and tools that the
students can touch, feel, and
work on.
Just make sure everything
you use is age appropriate.
