presents a security risk to Lenovo PCs as this could prove to be the gateway for the hackers to Spy
on the system and install malware and can steal user personal belonging from the computer.
The company has issued a statement that it had addressed this security vulnerability through the
update, and that this patch would be installed on all newly Lenovo computers while this would serve
as the solution for the unknown software. They released a Superfish removal tool that promises to
remove all traces of the software from the Lenovo computers.
Superfish, which is an advertising company that develops software and are described as malware or
adware by many sources. The Lenovo Company began to bundle the software with some of its

2. computers in late 2014. It make computers more vulnerable to cyber-attacks, including interception
of passwords and personal data being transmitted through web-browsers. Lenovo scrambled to
issue the patch and an apology to the Lenovo system users that “We messed up badly”. Peter
Horstensiuswho is the Lenovo’s chief technology officer, says that the company was fully unaware
that the Superfish was making browser traffic information public.

company had shipped about sixteen million units worldwide and it had the biggest PC market share
