some of us are able to interact with their

3. Born and Made ..
Managers are born and made meaning that most skills can be learned; however talent matters ..
First things come first, management is all about emotions. Being able to control and understand your
emotions will make you not only a better listener but, also, better at decision-making.
Effective decision-making needs rationality .. No matter what’s the business you are in!
Although, rationality doesn’t mean that you get rid of feelings. That’s why management grows
through maturity and self-knowledge.

4. Emotional Intelligence
THIS IS LEARNING-BY-
DOING KNOWLEDGE – IT’S
NOT JUST SCHOOLING ..
THE MOST IMPORTANT
ASSET, IN THEORY AND
PRACTICE, IS YOURSELF..
ECONOMIC ACTIVITY AND
SOCIAL LIFE ARE DRIVEN
BY EMOTIONS.. IT TAKES
TALENT TO MAKE THE
RIGHT CHOICES AND THAT
TALENT IS EMOTIONAL..
RESILIENCE IS BUILT DAY
BY DAY –IT’S THE SAME
PROCESS AS BUILDING A
MUSCLE – YOU DON’T SEE
IT GROWING BUT IT DOES!
EMPATHY IS MAYBE THE
MOST IMPORTANT WORD

5. When management works
• All organizations with the right management are
growing economically, socially, commercially by all
measures, by all standards.
• However, a business with a bad reputation could work
against a good management.. It’s hard to build
reputation and, usually, it takes years. But it may get
destroyed in just one day..
• Therefore, management is a marathon not a sprint
because teams depend on maturity ..
• Bureaucracy is the second best way to destroy a
company. The first is arrogance..

6. Success is a lousy teacher
PEOPLE ARE PRONE TO
ARROGANCE BUT
SOME OF US LEARN BY
OUR MISTAKES.
DON’T CONFUSE
CONFIDENCE WITH
ARROGANCE ARE TWO
TOTALLY DIFFERENT
STATES ..
WE BUILD CONFIDENCE
ON EXPERIENCE,
UNDERSTANDING,
INTELLIGENCE WHILE
ARROGANCE COMES
FROM SELF-REJECTION
AND STRONG DESIRE
FOR RECOGNITION.
STRONG
PERSONALITIES BUILD
CONFIDENCE AND
CHARACTER – WEAK
PERSONALITIES
INFLATE IN
ARROGANCE AND
NARCISSISM ..
THE MOST
INFLUENTIAL LEADERS
ARE LEADING BY
EXAMPLE.

7. Incentives matter ..
• It’s not everything money. People are inspired by creativity,
recognition, ideas and participation ..
• We are social creatures and our economy is built on our
transactions and interactions ..
• Incentives set the framework on how teams work and grow ..
Productivity depends on incentives because being productive
means that we are much more than homo economicus - no
matter what the economic theory claims.

TRUST DEPENDS ON PERSONALITY,
EXPERTISE, EXPERIENCE,
STRUCTURE, CULTURE, TRADITION
AND QUITE OFTEN AN INDIVIDUAL
MATTERS MORE THAN A SYSTEM ..
WORLD IS SMALLER THAN YOU

WILL TRANSFORM YOUR APPROACH
IN BUSINESS AND LIFE.

9. Management
4.0
Fundamentals of business are constant in
time. Human behavior is at the backend.
However, business activity changes as the
nature of economy does.
It would be different to manage Ford in the
early 1900’s and manage Tesla nowadays.
People remain the same – honesty, integrity,
work ethics, cooperation, decisiveness,
empathy, creativity are timeless values.
But, technology transforms operations,
communication, markets, transactions and
products.
10. Customer
No business has ever existed
without customers.
Therefore, a business should
be totally customer centric.
Product development, sales,
human resources and
operations have to be
customer-oriented.
Customers will keep the lights
on, at your office and your
apartment. Meetings, banks,
fancy degrees and bureaucracy
won’t.
Take care of employees and
they will take care of
customers.
Managers are not
entrepreneurs. Their work
focuses on day-to-day business
operations.
