Believe it or not, smoking has a lot of
adverse effects. Even more, than you
can think. The young age of the 20s
and 30s is when people get more
addicted to smoking and that can
lead to adverse effects on the eyes.
Problems like macular degeneration,
cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic
retinopathy that are caused at older
age get higher chances to affect
you early if you are a smoker.
4. Glasses have become too old
fashioned for the millennials and
contact lenses are something too
trending with them. People also
tend to wear the lenses without
power just for style. But not being
cautious with the lenses can be a
serious problem for your eyes.
Not cleaning them, wearing them
enough, not taking care of them
can lead to a lot of eye infections.
Keratitis, an infection of the
cornea, can be caused due to not
taking care of the lenses.

5. Eye strain due to excessive use of phones
The digital eye strain is
something we all ignore thinking it's a
common problem. Well, yes it is a
common problem but it is not a
lighter one. Constantly watching
phones or laptop screens for
prolonged hours gives
computer vision syndrome.

problems like excessive
pain in the eye, itching in
the eye, water flowing from
the eyes, etc are problems
of computer vision syndrome
that must be taken care of.
6. Blurry vision because of all-day work on computers
Just like watching the phone screen or the laptop screens
give you eye strain and a string of issues related to it, working
all day on the computers can give you blurry vision.
In the long term, it can lead to the blurred vision of distance
where you start getting trouble to watch things at a distance.
Again CVS or computer vision syndrome is responsible for this.
This happens because the eyes muscles get
overworked and they aren't able to relax.
7. Lack of sleep because of the reduction of water in the eyes
Most of the millennials have a problem of lack of sound sleep.
Most of the time it is not related to anything else but
your excessive use of the phones or spending
enough hours in front of the computers. The lights
emitted through the screens dry up your eyes
which again is directly related to your sound sleep.
