History
The name of Nigeria was given by Flora Shaw because it
was the name that she gave to her wife’s colony
It was conquered by the Britians in 1987 but much later
they got independence en 1946 later they changed
the form of goverment to monarchy and on October
1, 1963, the country changed its form of
government, from Monarchy to Republic but finally
the form of government is democracy
Physical features
• Nigeria is a country in West Africa. Nigeria shares land borders with the
Republic of Benin in the west, Chad and Cameroon in the east,
and Niger in the north. Its coast lies on the Gulf of Guinea in the south and
it borders Lake Chad to the northeast. Noted geographical features in
Nigeria include the Adamawa highlands, Mambilla Plateau, Jos
Plateau, Obudu Plateau, the Niger River, River Benue and Niger Delta.
Population

Political sistem
• The Federal Government of Nigeria is
the federal government of Nigeria,
a republic in Africa, composed of 36
states, Abuja, FCT (the nation's capital),
and several territories. The federal
government is composed of three distinct
branches: legislative, executive,
and judicial;like in Spain
Economic activities
• Nigeria is a middle income, mixed
economy and emerging market, with
expanding manufacturing, financial, service,
communications, technology and
entertainment sectors. It is ranked as the 21st
largest economy in the world
Culture and traditions
Nigeria is a mixed of many countries that conquisted it along the
time 50 lenguages are speaken in it and around 250
dialects,most of the population are muslim around the 50%
the principal lenguage is english
Sharo:It is a public ceremony that demonstrates to the society
that a young man has come of age, and may take a wife. The
young participant is continuously whipped by someone else,
called a challenger, but he must show no signs of pain
Most importants buildings
One of the most importants buildings is the CBN
(central bank of nigeria) it was done in 1958
Sport activities
• Nigeria has very few sport champions,the best
athlethes play football like Musa that play in
Leicester city (england),moses in chelsea and
Obafemu Martins in the Chinese league and
also there are athletes like Francis Obikwelu
that beat a record in Athens 2004
