4. The spiritual Aspect
….So their Lord
accepted of them (their
supplication and
answered them), "Never
will I allow to be lost the
work of any of you, be
he male or female. You
are (members) one of
another…. QUR’AN 3:195
5. Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while
he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to
him We will give a good life (in this world with respect,
contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them
certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used
to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter). Qur’an 16:97
6. 2.The social Aspect
And when the female
(infant) buried alive (as
the pagan Arabs used to
do) shall be questioned.
For what sin she was killed?
Qur’an 81:8-9
7. And when the news of
(the birth of) a female
(child) is brought to any
of them, his face becomes
dark, and he is filled with
inward grief!
He hides himself from
the people because of the
evil of that whereof he
has been informed. Shall
he keep her with
dishonor or bury her in
the earth ? Certainly, evil
is their decision. Quran
16: 58-59
8. The Prophet’s sayings
: whosoever has a
daughter and he does not
bury her alive, does not
insult her and does not
favor his son over her,
God will enter him into
paradise.
Whosoever supports
two daughters till they
mature, he and I will
come in the day of
judgement like this (he
pointed with his 2 fingers
held together.
9. The right of females to seek
knowledge is not different from
that of males. Prophet
Muhammed (p b u h) said
:``Seeking knowledge is
mandatory for every Muslim .”
Muslim as used here including
both males and females.

10. The prophet (p.b.u.h.) said:
`` The most perfect believers are
the best in conduct and best of you are
those who are best to their wives.”
11. Islam considers
kindness to parents
next to the worship of
God.
The Quran says
`` And we
have enjoined upon
man (to be good) to
his parents: His
mother bears him in
weakness upon
weakness……
Surah 31:
verse15.
12. IS THE HIJAB A HINDRANCE???
The muslim woman wears
hijab (veil) on the basis of
her belief that it is a
command from Allah,
revealed to protect the
Muslim Woman, to make her
character distinct, and to
keep her away from the
slippery slope of immorality
and error. It is not a custom
or tradition inherited from
her mother or grandmother.
13. Conclusion
The status which women reached during the present
era was not achieved due to the kindness of men or
due to natural progress. It was rather achieved
through a long struggle and sacrifice on woman’s
part and only when society needed her contribution
and work, and due to the escalation of technological
change.
In the case of Islam such compassionate and
dignified status was decreed, not because it reflects
the environment of the 7th century, not under the threat
or pressure of women and their organisations , but
rather because of its intrinsic truthfulness.
