Pop/Adult Contemporary is a popular style of Christian/Gospel music

recorded in 2008. In 2008 Christian/Gospel digital sales were up over
38% and digital tracks up 37%.

genre?
Gospel music sells have increased over the years. Black gospel music has
grown to being heard on mainstream radio formats nationally. Although
sales in the genre are up, attendance at gospel concerts have not followed
suit. This could be due to having a tight economy so concerts are no
longer an affordable luxury. Some commentators say it’s due to market
saturation but it could be both.

appropriate target market?
The opportunities that exist for a new artist in this genre to expose
themselves to the appropriate target market are many due to technology.
Technology has a direct impact on artist. People can now download music
2. videos, moves and television episodes directly to their desktop computers,
cell phones or ipads.

The forms of radio that have a likelihood of playing Pop/Christian music
are Christian music radio mirror commercial radio in many ways, and
music in a variety of different genres is available. Many stations play
primarily gospel music, while others play all formats of contemporary
Christian music. There are reportedly 1,600 different Christian
broadcasting organizations in the U.S.
5. What international opportunities are there for this genre? If going international
where would you go first and why?
The international opportunities for Pop/Christian are vast and due to
Christian radio it is now available in other places such as UK, Albania,
Australia, Canada and more. If I were sending my group international I
would send them to Brazil. Brazil has large Christian population that adds
up to a whopping 1174,500,900.
Brazil has a higher adherence level compared to other Latin American
countries, and is more diverse.

target market.
The demographics of the average member of my target market are a loyal
group of 25 to 45 years-olds, of all ethnicities, but more women. The
female’slisteners are 23% more likely to have two or more children. They

facts illustrate gospel music demographics.

market.
The lifestyle of the average of the target market consist the highest
percentage of shoppers. The second-highest percentage is college graduates
and the third highest percentage is employed listeners. The house holds
income earnings are $30,000. With gospel there is no lifestyle, color, or age.
8. What other entertainment media is your target market likely to spend money
on? EX. Video games, film, cable TV etc.
The other entertainment media my target market likely to spend money on
is cable TV. Television is a marvelous thing. This electronic medium is
being used effectively by all kinds of Christian groups. Video can build
relationship with a church.
9. How does your target market prefer to consume their music? EX. Video games,
film, cable TV etc.
My target market prefers to consume their music in units and digital
albums. Digital albums sales were up more than 66%. But digital tracks
were only up 36% percent. According to Nielsen Christian Soundscan
Pop/Adult Contemporary gospel music was the leading style in 2007. The
average listener can afford digital or CDs.
10. Based on your above research, how you get artist in front of the appropriate
target market?
4. Based on my above research, I will get my artist in front of the appropriate
target market through digital downloads. This is the most calculate
expense for my artist to be to cover a lot of ground even while she sleeps.
I have embraced technology so that most social sites will become an
avenue to prosper.
