Module 4 - Case
LEADERSHIP
Case Assignment
Objective: Secure a Management Position
Finding the perfect balance between bragging and underselling
is crucial when you are interviewing for a new position.
Multimedia presentations are the norm today, as are video
interviews. Over the last three modules, you learned about your
leadership abilities. Put that to work for you.
For this case, you will create a presentation that describes who
you are as a leader and why an organization should hire you for
the position. (NOTE: the position for which you are applying
can be fictitious. To make the most of this exercise, you should
be qualified for the job by the end of your degree program).
Presentation Script
· Create a script to accompany the presentation. It should be
persuasive and targeted at those who are making a hiring
decision. It can be written in a professional conversational
style, but since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite in
the script and add a reference list in APA format.
Video Presentation
· Video yourself presenting the 3- 3 ½ minute interview video.
Set your digital camera to video your face and upper torso. This
will allow the viewer to see your hand gestures and facial
expressions. Do not read your script.
Please submit your assignment.
SCRIPT: A Word document using the attached template
(MGT301 Case4 Script), which MUST contain a YouTube or
Vimeo video link to your presentation (should be 3-3 ½ minutes
maximum). Content beyond 3 ½ minutes will not be considered
for grading. Do not upload the video to the classroom since the
file size may make it too large.
Assignment Expectations
This assignment calls for two separate submissions:
1. A video in YouTube or Zoom format, 2-3 minutes long
2. Completed Charisma Assessment Template based on the form
to be found in Table of Contents/Presentations, following
Module 4 and above the Boundless Textbook.
Module 4 - SLP
LEADERSHIP
Using the template provided, complete the comprehensive SLP
for MGT301. Since you have a series of different references
lists for each assignment, you’ll need to combine them for this
submission. NOTE: there are three sections that require updated
content.

workplaces.
Let us look at trends in organization structure. Using the class
text and, predominately, articles from Trident Library’s full-text
databases (like Academic Search Complete, Business Source

Personality, Leadership, and Career Considerations
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assesses personality type
under the psychodynamic approach. Click on the following link
for a test that uses the Myers-Briggs as its basis.
Use the attached Self-Appraisal form (MGT301 SLP3) to create
your submission.
You are asked to share your “dimensions” scores from the
assessment.
· Using what you have learned about yourself through
leadership self-assessment and skills analysis, assess your skills
based on the scoring for each “dimension.”
· Take an extra step and apply how each “dimension” can guide
your management style.

PLANNING AND CONTROL
Case Assignment
Gotta Have a Goal
Goals are an integral part of the strategic planning. Look at one
aspect of a business: sales. They have hourly, weekly, and
monthly goals, coupled with a plethora of conversion rates for
sales activities which are a guiding force in the industry.
Failure to meet goals results in lost revenue and lost jobs.
Regardless of what position you hold in a company, you are part
of the planning process.
Strategic Planning Research
Using the class text and, predominately, articles from Trident
Library’s full-text databases (like Academic Search Complete,
Business Source Complete and/or ProQuest Central), research
the following:
· How to write, measure, and apply “SMART” objectives for
business.
· How to apply “Balanced Scorecard” in the planning process.
· Incentives: research the type of incentives that work for
helping employees meet objectives.
Since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite and reference
the sources in APA format. The paper should be written in third
person; this means words like “I,” “we,” and “you” are not
appropriate. For more information, see Differences Between
First and Third Person.
Use the attached APA-formatted template (MGT301 Case2) to
create your submission.
Your submission will include:
· Trident University International’s cover page
· A three-page paper with APA citations (2- to 3-sentence
introduction, body, 2- to 3-sentence conclusion)
· The reference list page in APA format
Assignment Expectations

be 3-4 pages in length, in addition to a cover page (course name
and number, module number, session name, student name, and
date prepared) and reference list - double-spaced, 12 pt. type,
Times New Roman font.
· Report content should include a brief introduction to the
assignment, background information about the organization
being studied, and some preliminary discussion of the analytical
tools (situation analysis and SWOT analysis) being applied in
addressing the questions or tasks proposed in the assignment.
· Use subtitles, bullets, and tables to improve presentation
values. In this case, a suggested structure for the assignment
might be:
· Introduction
· Situation Analysis
· SWOT Analysis
· Discussion
· Conclusion
· Attention is to be given to citing sources of information in
text as well as in the reference list at the end of reports.
