The Girl Scouts intend to put 2.5 million girls into a progressive STEM pipeline by 2025. In order to help STEM volunteers become comfortable, competent and confident in helping girls go on amazing STEM learning journeys, the Ericsson-Girl Scouts Alliance released its digital learning assistant Jumpstart. Join us in this session to learn how we plan to extend and develop this program to leverage immersive technologies and combine digital learning with outdoor experiential learning.

9. Challenges
1. Building tomorrow’s workforce pipeline today.
2. As a Non Profit – volunteers are not ready . The readiness
of the girls actually depends on the readiness of our
“volunteers” in GSNETX we have 5000 troop leaders, many
of them may not consider themselves qualified to lead girls
through STEM activities therefore may never introduce these
activities to their troops of girls in time

The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), supported by Ericsson and other program partners,
set up the STEM Center of Excellence in May 2018 – a first-of-its-kind, 92-acre living laboratory,
located just 20 minutes from the tech hubs of Dallas, to introduce girls to the experiential skills critical
for STEM-based careers.
