This document analyzes several magazine advertisements, summarizing the key aspects of each: 1. A shoe ad featuring professional skateboarder Jamie Thomas, appealing to power and control through skating ability. 2. A donut ad targeting athletes, with extreme labeling and a skateboarder doing tricks to imply the consumer can emulate this lifestyle. 3. A music downloader ad showing a smiling man enjoying the product, implying the consumer can share in this fun and joy through the same product.

2. Analyzing magazine adsIn this PowerPoint presentation, I will be discussing ads that companies produce to lure customers to them. For each ad I will show:1:the basic human need that it is appealing to,2:the marketing technique it is using, 3: how the ad is framed to catch the viewer’s attention

Has the name of Jamie Thomas, the professional skateboarder on the shoes showing that the consumer could be like himThis ad shows the value of power, because the ad is basically saying that you are in control as long as you wear this shoe and you will be better at skating. “Fallen represents the determination and perseverance it takes to rise above your limits.”The words are imitating the logo making the logo appear 3 times in the ad. On the shoe, on the words and on the logo below.The shoes are worn and old showing that their quality is good and shows that it is tough and extreme as there are mud stains on the bottom of the shoeValue associating with the customers: Atleticism, Excellence, and Power

Values Associated with consumers: Athleticism, Action, and Power This ad shows that their donuts are “extreme and are for athletes” and the word extreme labeled above the person is within parenthesis making it look like skateboard and it is saying that skating is extreme. The ad is also showing that you can be like the guy in the picture as he is doing a trick and he also likes the donuts because the donut’s logo is on the board. Also if you noticed in the background there is a transparent donut.Power and Freedom: This ad shows that if you eat their donuts you can become like this person. The freedom value comes in to this ad by not adding the floor making the skater have no limit of space, so there fore he is “free”.

5. Values associated with the consumers: Freedom, fun and joy. He is staring at the phone and at the camera indirectly, while smiling showing that he is having fun with the product and is enjoying himself.“Just like you” shows that you can be like him by using the music downloader. In the text the colors are switched around to represent the colors of the logo
