3. Purpose of Jeep Rally:
District Haripur is blessed with extra ordinary rich historical heritage, high
adventure and outstanding natural beauty with easy accessibility. It is a land with
diverse culture and traditions and unique landscapes, be it water reservoirs, wildlife
game reserves, heritage sites or stunning lands. The area that can be of an interest for
tourists from not only within the country but outside the country as well.
The District Administration strived to provide recreational activities to the
inhabitants of district Haripur, Islamabad and its adjoining areas and to add colors to the
Independence Day and Eid celebrations organized the jeep rally including food festival
and cultural night at Khanpur Dam in collaboration with the TCKP, Islamabad Jeep Club,
Wah Street Racing Club and other participants which was held on 25th
to 26th
of August
2018.

5. Chief Guest of the Ceremony:
Honourable Commissioner Hazara Division, Abbottabad Amjad Ali Khan.

6. Formal Inauguration of the Exhibition:
Honourable Deputy Commissioner Haripur Zahid Pervaiz Warraich inaugurated
the Jeep Rally with cutting a ribbon. Chief guest Amjad Ali Khan along with Deputy
Commissioner Haripur Zahid Pervaiz Warraich and District Police Officer Haripur Captain (R)
Mansoor Aman visited each stall installed at Khanpur Lake and appreciated the wide range of
products displayed and the arrangements made by District Administration Haripur.

7. Arrangements:
For arrangements and organizing the said rally, the following organizing committee was
constituted so that the event be managed properly:
a. Dr. Adil Ayub. Addl: Assistant Commissioner-II, Haripur.
b. SHO, Khanpur.
c. TMO, Khanpur.
d. Representative of Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
e. Wah Street Racing Club.
f. XEN Khanpur Dam Project

8. 1st Day 25th of August 2018
(Opening of Cultural Night at 08:00PM)
On 25th
of August 2018 the participants were welcomed at Orange Lake
View Hotel and a cultural night was organized followed by dinner. The following
participants performed in the said night:
a. Gul Muhammad Band.
b. Sid lil Mundeer Brothers.
c. Farwa Shah.
d. Damnation Band.
e. SK Rapper Underground.
f. Fahad & Hammad.
g. Traditional Dhol & Dancers.
A state of the art stage was installed with colourful glaring SMD lights,
Sound (Line arrays), Bonitors, Basers, Mics (wiseless + stands), Wooden polished stage
with Ramp, Sharpies, Moving heads, , Flicker, Smoke Machine, Fire machine, SMD
screen, Trussing (U shape with ring), Backup Generator, SP4 speaker system and Media
Wall depicting the logos of District Administration Haripur, TCKP and other partners.

9. Local Visitors:
Visit of the general public was very encouraging. Hundreds of visitors daily
visited the event on both days on 25th & 26th of August 2018.

10. 2nd Day 26th of August 2018
(Re-Opening of Jeep Rally at 10:00AM)
On 26th
of August 2018 the Jeep rally was inaugurated by the Deputy
Commissioner Haripur himself at around 10:00AM in which 27 well loaded off road
jeeps participated on a difficult 06 Kilometers off road track having water section, mud
section, trench section etc. the minimum time laps was 03 minutes and two seconds
and the maximum time lap was 5 minutes and 18 seconds. The race ended at around
04:30PM followed by concluding ceremony in which the Commissioner, Hazara Division
was the chief guest and the representative of TCKP was guest of honour.
All the participants were given the certificates of appreciation and the top
three were given the shields having the logo of District Administration and TCKP.
Food festival was organized at Khanpur Dam in which different food stalls
were installed having the local cuisine and fast food on both the days i.e. 25th
to 26th
of
August 2018. The local traditional dance group performed at the same venue which
added colours to the event.

15. Media Coverage
The office of the Deputy Commissioner Haripur and TCKP advertised the
event using the social media so the maximum people could participate in the said event.
The local press media and electronic media covered the said event on both the days and
national private media covered the concluding ceremony held at Khanpur Dam.

16. Feedback from the participants:
The participants felt the need to develop the area as a tourist destination
and it has national beauty, easy accessibility, hospitality and forthcoming culture etc. It
was also appreciated that the Local Administration in collaboration with TCKP and other
partners strived to promote motor sports and traditional culture. At the end the
participants requested these opportunity & time and again.
SO THE PURPOSE OF THE EVENT WAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED.
