4. Relevant Theory
Albert Bandura: From a social element, arguing that people can learn new
information and behaviors by watching other people. Known as
observational learning (or modeling)
Bandura Identified Three Basic Models of Observational Learning:
1A live model, which involves an actual individual demonstrating or acting out
a behavior.
2A verbal instructional model, which involves descriptions and explanations of
a behavior.
3A symbolic model, which involves real or fictional characters displaying
behaviors in books, films, television programs, or online media
Intrinsic reinforcement as a form of internal reward, such as pride,
satisfaction, and a sense of accomplishment. This emphasis on internal
thoughts and cognitions helps connect learning theories to cognitive
developmental theories
(Cherry, 2011)
5. Developmental Appropriate
According to Developmental Profiles:
By age 6…. children are able to:
-Demonstrate a fair control of a pencil or marker,
may begin to color within the lines
-Differentiate lowercase and uppercase letters
-Recognize some words by sight [attempting] to
sound out words
(Allen & Marotz, 2007, p 164-174)

Editor's Notes
The website game description goal states, “Have fun learning your letters with Gisele’s gooey alphabet soup!” (Site: Tvo kids web site)
Content Knowledge--> The E-portfolio is the software we provided in the classroom as added material to enhance the children learning. This E-portfolio is aimed to teach the children to practice and review their alphabets on their own level of learning. The children will be able to problem solve and by learning by trial and error. Eg. Knowing your alphabet and associating the letter to the phonetic sound/image. The children can know the differences when using the phonetic sound, and images associated to the letter.
We feel albert bandura, best fits the concept of this software.
Out of the three models. The third one best fits this software.
If a child is not familiar with using a computer, they will need further guidance and adult-scaffolding to maneuver around the software game. Needs to have this for the game
