Preparedness and Mitigation
Storm Camille was the second-most extreme tropical violent
wind to strike the United States on record. The most extreme
tempest of the 1969 Atlantic typhoon season, Camille shaped as
a tropical melancholy on August 14 south of Cuba from a since
a long time ago followed tropical wave. Situated in an ideal
domain for reinforcing, the tempest immediately strengthened
into a Category 2 tropical storm before striking the western
piece of the country on August 15. According to Buurman,
Mens, & Dahm, (2017), emergency and disaster planning
incorporates a sorted out, cooperated strategy of intending to
facilitate the necessities with open resources. The stages are
explored, forming, dispersal, testing, and revitalizing. Along
these lines, an emergency plan should to be an active aspect that
is irregularly adapted to changing circumstances in addition to
that gives a manual for the traditions, techniques, as well as the
division of obligations in emergency response.
Where the Organization Fall On the Preparedness Cycle
Rising into the Gulf of Mexico, Camille experienced another
time of quick escalation and turned into a Category 5 sea
tempest the following day as it moved northward towards the
Louisiana– Mississippi area. In spite of debilitating marginally
on August 17, the tropical storm rapidly re-increased back to a
Category 5 preceding it made landfall in Pass Christian,
Mississippi right off the bat August 18. The repeating idea of
this model is imperative as it features that overseeing crises
happens constantly, not simply amid 'the season' for instance for
bushfires and tornados, It additionally demonstrates the manner
in which the stages mix into one another and cover as opposed
to being discrete classifications. This stage joins making gets
ready for what to do, where to go, or who to call for help before
an event occurs; exercises that will improve your chances of
viably dealing with an emergency. For instance, posting
emergency telephone numbers, and presenting smoke
discoverers are all preparation measures. Diverse points of
reference fuse perceiving where you would have the ability to
shield your animals in a calamity. One should similarly consider
setting up a disaster unit with crucial supplies for your family
and animals.
The Organization's SWOT Analysis Results
With regards to mission, order and working condition, an
examination of the Defense Forces' interior qualities and
shortcomings, and outside circumstances and dangers have been
embraced with the accompanying outcomes:
Strengths
The associations’ qualities in light of the current circumstance
incorporate, the unexpected state of polished skill, devotion,
and administration to the State. The flexibility of individual and
aggregate confidence in the Forces. The high universal notoriety
of the Defense Forces acts as an advantageous aspect of the
organization. The limit with regards to impressive change
showed over ongoing years, which similarly builds up the
degree to which traditional military abilities have been held at
the individual level. In addition, a Permanent Defense Force in
view of experienced proficient officers rather than recruits or
reservists. The broad experience of Defense Forces' faculty in
peace bolster activities, at home office and operational level,
with all the significant universal associations engaged with
peace missions.
Weaknesses
A progression of Defense surveys has chronicled the
shortcomings of the Defense Forces finally. A portion of these
shortcomings stays to be tended to. Which include: The
nonappearance of clear lines of responsibility, expert and duty.
The Chief of Staff at present has 18% of the Defense Vote
reverted to him, while users on the Defense Forces is more than
90% of the vote • Human Resources Recruitment and
maintenance troubles; and the failure to exchange or resign
faculty to meet hierarchical prerequisites. Deployment and
Organization - operational units too generally scattered •
Equipment and Infrastructure - the need to proceed with the
extensive change as of late to empower a trustworthy protection
ability and to meet the guidelines expected of a power working
in a cutting-edge peace bolster condition. Alternate shortcoming
incorporate, preparing - Insufficiently committed group
ordinary military preparing
Opportunities.
The proceeding authoritative change process gives a chance to
the advancement of the association. Different open doors
comprise of, The Naval Service and Air Corps Review
Implementation Plans. The White Paper on Defense
Commitment by the Government to a 'world-class military
association'. The Involvement in worldwide and territorial
associations. And the continuation of the way toward reverting
monetary specialist and basic leadership to the Defense Forces •
Using the SMI procedure as a vehicle to enhance the common
military working connections could likewise be a positive angle
for the association's advancement process (Bankoff, Cannon,
Krüger, & Schipper,. (2015).
Threats
The effect of a monetary stoppage on the usage of Defense
Forces' change. The prerequisite to devising another Defense
Forces' Pension plot and the vulnerability of its impact on
future enlistment and maintenance
What mitigation tools and the potential response plan for the
organization
Mediation to address disasters has formed through time into an
unusual methodology subsystem, and disaster technique is
realized through a course of action of limits known as
emergency organization and response. Present day approaches
to manage the emergency organization and response incorporate
multidimensional undertakings to diminish our shortcoming to
perils; to decrease the impact of disasters; and to get ready for,
respond to, and recover from those that occur. These
commitments present extensive challenges for governments in
light of the amazing solicitations disaster events drive on the
essential authority systems and organization movement
establishment of the systems they impact. To achieve the key
progressive goals the Defense Forces look for after different
between related frameworks. The association between these
procedures. Techniques are arranged as Core and Support
Strategies. The previous includes Resource Management
Strategies and Process Management Strategies. The Core and
Support Strategies are facilitated and sought after in a way that
guarantees the Defense Forces satisfy the jobs allocated by
Government successfully and assets are used proficiently.
Inside these parameters the Core and Support Strategies center
on accomplishing various authoritative needs

Alabama
In Alabama, Hurricanes could cause destruction of property,
deaths of people, flooding, displacement of people, spread of
diseases and enormous catastrophes such as cause of sinkholes.
Normal daily activities are interrupted by the high speed winds
that blow towards the land
Establishment of response and alert services in case of any
emergency due to hurricanes or any other hazard caused by the
same. The concerned organizations should involve all the
stakeholders who hold the role of ensuring that response
measures are made effective in times of natural calamities.
Alabama
Cause of homelessness due to flooding and destruction of
housing. During any hurricane, most people are left homeless
because of the destruction that usually takes place in affected
areas.
Disaster management policies should be enforced in all areas
that are prone to hurricanes. Effective measures need to be
established in the bid to establish more safety areas for people
to seek refuge.
Mississippi
Mass deaths of people and interruption of normal activities
Training and effective familiarization with the important steps
that people should take in times of any activities. These
trainings should be meant to alert people and give knowledge on
proper response mechanisms in case of natural disasters like
hurricane.
Mississippi
Collapse and damage of houses and destruction of property.
Establishing new methodologies in transport system such as
raising and moving homes from flooding areas. The
organizations in the disaster preparedness and response should
have plans to involve different agencies that work in disaster
preparation and response.
Construction codes that give permission for proper modern
housing such as movable structures that can be transport to
safer areas during hurricanes or such kind of disasters.
Spread of diseases and outbreaks of killer conditions.
Medical disaster preparedness measures installed for any
emergence cases. The government through all the stakeholder
organizations and departments should allocate funds to help in
installing surplus medical supplies that are used during response
time in disaster cases.
Louisiana
Lack of safe food for human consumption, destruction of food
supplies and storage facilities
Establishment and construction of food policies that involve
food security measures. Disaster preparedness in food security
would involve having to organize emergence food stores,
emergency plans and running awareness campaigns on disaster
readiness and preparedness.
Triggering of fires and other artificial hazards that are affected
by natural disasters.
Installment of alert systems and control features in any artificial
hazard prone elements such as electrification transportation
systems, cable and network systems, oil and gas industries as
well as other important companies in the country.
Destruction of big companies and industries that are economic
pillars in the country. The most common trends involve
destruction of common infrastructure that are essential in the
running of the industries involved.
Measures to build strong and durable industries beyond the
strength of destruction by any hurricane. These structures must
put in mind the previous hurricanes and their destructive speeds
and force. The management of these industries should involve
strong strategies and planning that provides durability and
longevity.
Virginia state
Loss of personal investments such as property, real estate and
land.
Establishing insurance policies to mitigate large extends of
losses in case of any natural disasters. These insurance policies
could be all rounded in regard to the ability to deliver and give
right compensation and cover for those affected by hurricanes
and related natural disasters.
Lack of organizations for direct intervention in case of any
disaster
Creation of disaster response organization and training of
responders to any disaster that might occur. Such organization
is funded so that it is entitled to support and intervene in dire
situation of need during any hurricane or disaster.
Lack of disaster preparedness and resourcefulness in mitigating
any resultant situation and any damages or changes that are
made by these destructive happenings.
Enforcement of training to the already existing disaster officers
as well as training and making them to become skilled and
readily prepared for any disaster.
New York
Damage of public infrastructure and High rise buildings.
Research and planning to develop future models that would lead
to creating indestructible structures in high rise many storey
buildings. This could help in developing important structures
with disaster countering capabilities.
Destruction of emergence response infrastructure
Many organizations establish remote areas for effective
intervention plans. When the response bases are near the
hurricane prone areas could endanger the same resources that
need to be used in evacuation efforts during any case of
destruction.ReferencesChangnon, S. A. (2009). Characteristics
of severe Atlantic hurricanes in the United States: 1949–

Organization Impacted by the Hazard
State Office of Civil Defense, a public organization
Resulting Changes or Development in the Field of Emergency
Management
State Office of Civil Defense, was changed to the Virginia
Department of Emergency Management,
The first natural recovery plan was developed by the
Commonwealth,
creation of the Disaster Relief Act of 1974
All year round training of Local state and federal responders
Hazard’s Influence on Changes or Development in the Field of
Emergency Management
State Office of Civil Defense only protected the civilians from
bomb attacks hence did not have plans for natural disasters.
The disaster made the country to reform its emergency
responses by creating an organization that would be funded to
act whenever disasters of any kind occur.
This also required the formation of a disaster recovery plan to
guide them on how they can handle disasters.
The training brings new skills to them based on other disasters
around the world.
