  1. 1. My Immigration Interview<br />I have interviewed my Dad, who has immigrated from the Netherlands to New Zealand.<br />
  2. 2. Why did you immigrate and why to New Zealand?<br />My parents immigrated when I was 10 years old with the whole family. My parents wanted a better lifestyle and opportunities for their children. My father had two brothers and a sister who were living in Christchurch where we immigrated to. <br />
  3. 3. Explain what the cultural differences are between Holland and New Zealand? <br />New Zealanders are more relaxed and laided back than the Dutch. But most of the differences are more subtle. <br />
  4. 4. How did you adapt to the New Zealand lifestyle and culture?<br />As a child you adapt pretty quickly when you go to a New Zealand school and play with kiwi kids. <br />
  5. 5. How did you feel when you moved from Holland to New Zealand? <br />I was happier because I enjoyed my new school and the house that we lived in had a big garden which was great fun to play in.<br />
  6. 6. Explain what the hard differences are between Holland and New Zealand? <br />The hard differences between Holland and New Zealand are the language differences and also not having your friends and family around to spend the weekends with.<br />
  7. 7. Would you rather live in New Zealand or in Holland and why? <br />I would rather live in New Zealand than in Holland because of the better lifestyles and opportunities available here in New Zealand. <br />
