The markets closed red today. Sensex close down 242.74 falls 0.94% & the Nifty close
down 74.50 falls 0.96%, snapping two days of gains, as lenders such as State Bank of
India and ICICI Bank slumped on worries that a sell-off in government bonds would hit
the value of their debt holdings. Infosys, M&M, Reliance, BHEL and HUL are top gainers
while ITC, ICICI Bank, Sesa Sterlite, Axis Bank and Bharti were among major losers in
the Sensex. ICICI Bank provisionally fell 2.67% while SBIN closed down 2.02% today.
