The Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center : Case Study
Having your priorities in order when it comes to the organization that you're a part of is detrimental
regarding the livelihood of the organization. At the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center
(CCSSLC), the administration normally looks to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to point out what's
important to the organization. Even though knowing what's important to your organization should
not require outside assistance, the CCSSLC seems as if they need guidance when it comes to putting
first things first (Steven Covey's Habit 3). https://www.stephencovey.com/7habits/7habits–

Aiming for the final course grade of an A is attainable if I put in the effort and dedication it takes to

Why Bother Pursuing Higher Education?
Why bother pursuing higher education?
A typical student on average goes to school starting from kindergarten to high school. After, students
decide whether to seek a higher education in college or start working. For most people, the key to
education is to equip young adults with the ability to survive and to make a standard living in the
future. In this essay, I will not only argue why it is unnecessary for young adults to pursue higher
education, such as college and beyond, but also that obtaining a college degree is irrelevant. The
first reason why I strongly believe in this, is that even though students earn a college degree, there
isn't a guaranteed position for a set job. Second, some jobs that students are employed at don't
require a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, Davis emphasized to me that companies these days are looking for unique individuals
who show great passion, standout, and have previous work experience. Some students may think
that after attending college and obtaining a college degree, there will be less pressure and stress.
That is somewhat true, but one important thing that will haunt college graduates for years, is paying
off massive loans. Graduates need to figure out the fastest and most efficient way of paying off
debts, otherwise interest rates will keep increasing. Furthermore, in the Huffington Post, reporter
Bonnie Kavoussi announced that, "The average student loan debt burden for borrowers under age
30, as of the end of March, has risen 56 percent since the beginning of 2005 to a record $20,835."
An escalation in borrowed loans clearly shows that fewer families each year qualify for financial
aid. This burden will cause most students to work in order obtain money to pay off their tuition
loans. However, the average starting salary for recent college graduates has plunged to 10 percent to
$27,000 per year, according to recent Rutgers University study. With fewer people each year getting
federal aid and low starting job salaries, it would take graduates much longer to fully pay off their
deficit. Kavoussi revealed "It would take 11 years for a borrower with that

Choosing A Career Choices For Their Adult Life Essay
As human beings we are raised in a society to start preparing for our future as children. Parent place
us in extracurricular activities such as karate, soccer, football, music, dance, and many more
activities available to children. This is an opportunity given to children to experience what they like
or dislike, in order to make a career choices for their adult life. When it came to growing up as a
child I enjoyed every second of it, as a kid everything that interest me or I enjoyed doing was what I
wanted to be. I remember having a few dogs that I adored so much and because of that I wanted to
be a Veterinarian. Now, as a kid not once did I ever think about the things I had to do to head toward
that career. I didn't know how long I had to go to college, the amount of salary for each profession,
and the requirements of the job and the different job positions. I also would love to dance and
wanted to be a choreographer. As we continue to grow older and understand the different
circumstances, our job choice will constantly change, until you have reached a decision making
point. Even then sometimes it will not stick and we will continue to change our mind. I finally
decided what it was I wanted to do as my career choice about a year ago. I want to be in the field of
Sociology. What is Sociology? It is the study of human behavior. Now, I could have decided to
choose Psychology but the mind of an individual does not interest me but, if I look from a

Benefits Of A Unified Salary Schedule
There are many advantages and disadvantages to a single, unified salary schedule. These types of
salary schedules only recognize years of service and amount of education to determine salary
amounts for all certified staff. Each salary schedule has strengths and areas of improvement, and
analysis of the salary schedule will highlight these areas. Salary schedules, including Hollister RV
School District's, only require teachers to remain employed thorough the school year to earn a raise
in pay for the next year, automatically moving to the next step on the salary schedule. Pay increases
also are earned by moving to the next lane or column based on the hours of graduate credit
completed toward an advanced degree, such as a Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree. Hollister
RV School District's certified staff's salary schedule discloses several areas of exceptionality,
highlighting what is important to the District. However, there are also areas to be improved,
including recruitment and retention (Hollister RV School District, 2016). One exceptional
characteristic of the salary schedule is that the vertical steps carry the same monetary value as the
horizontal columns with the exception of completing a Master's degree or a Specialist degree. This
salary schedule indicates an equal value is placed on service and completed education. Upon
completing a degree, staff salaries increase $960 instead of the $480 earned by simply accumulating
additional hours of education.

Online College Vs. Online Education
If you're in Nigeria, online degree has been all over the media lately. The online courses are not
something that comes easily, especially if you are dealing with foreign online universities. Online
schools or what most Nigerians call distance learning is not fun and working with your online
degree at your home allows you to learn in your own way; and allows you to retain ownership how
fast you wish to earn your degree.
Fully accredited online colleges like national Open University of Nigeria and Walden University
course materials online have earned a widely recognized form of university accreditation from one
of the top six regional accreditation boards in Nigeria.
Even till now, students enrolled in online degree programs in Nigeria are ineligible for federal
student aid unless at least half of their programs was campus based (a law that was established in
1992 and known as the 50–percent rule), even though that is a different situation for most Nigerians
rushing to register online degree programs.
Firstly, you need to make sure your online school choice does have accreditation; this means the
institution has passed a specific level of standards through a recognized organization for upholding
quality education.
In countries like U.S and U.K, It 's the Department of Education and also the Council for College
Accreditation that recognizes the Distance Education and Training Council as the accrediting
organization for distance learning institutions and education programs

Essay on Having a Career in Fashion Design
Having a Career in Fashion Design
The fashion design career, has recently emerged as one of the most popular and competitive among
young people. Those who actually succeed in design have a very individualistic personal style and
don't follow trends set by others. Having fashion design as your profession sometimes allows you to
meet glamorous people. It can also put you in charge of what is in and out when it comes to clothing
through ramp shows and fashion write–ups. Most designers have a great social status, and are
accepted by everyone. However, There are many aspects which may or may not help you choose it
as your career. Many talented individuals are attracted to careers as designers. Those with little or no

The four most heard of are head designers, assistant designers, specialty designers, and theatrical
costume designers. Head designers are responsible for exclusive and creative functions. They
supervise design room staff. Those with less experience may be responsible for small divisions or
specialized garments. Assistant designers are generally all–around assistants and designers. They
make first patterns and samples or may supervise sample makers. " They work together with their
directors on their sketches, and help put together their catalogs."(Baron, pg 73)
Specialty designers work with other designers to coordinate special lines of clothing, such as
sweaters. They often arrange for styles to be made in foreign countries. Theatrical costume
designers create costumes for movies or theatrical productions, usually on a contact basis. As you
may know fashion designers create anything that is part of a garment for men, women, and children.
They understand the needs of their clients and create attractive, functional garments and accessories.
When designing they must keep a close watch on fit, style, color, texture, size, and material.
Designing any outfit starts with sketching and original idea on paper or on computer programs. Then

Many colleges that offer Hospitality Management may also include the option to enroll within a
specific concentration, so that you may gain a "specialty". Therefore it's important to have a sense of
what area of hospitality you are interested in, so that you enroll yourself into an appropriate
program, including programs where graduates have been able to secure employment in your
interested field and location. For example, if you have the desire to work as a ski lodge manager,
you may want to make sure you enroll into a school that provides the focus of the hotel industry and
potential internship opportunities within ski country vs. the beaches in Florida.
In effort to continue a higher learning education within the field of Hospitality, which may increase
my career options as I enter the workforce, I have reviewed three colleges within the New York
State area that provides a Bachelor's degree within Hospitality Management. The purpose of this

The Negative Effects Of Going To College
Receiving a high school diploma is essential to today's society. More and more jobs are requiring a
high diploma for basic jobs. As for now, a college degree is becoming more common. Now more
jobs are requiring a high school diploma and a college degree. This makes it harder for those who
choose not to go to college to find a job to help support their families. School's have strongly
encouraged students to pursue a college degree because of the increase job requirements. Student's
need to attend college to have an average job making $10 to $15 and hour. By students going for a
bachelor's degree there making around $20 to $40 and hour based on what type of career they're
going for. Due to the rising cost of college and the negative effects that student loan debt has on
American families today, the question of going to college or not is not an easy one to answer. On the
other hand, the opportunities that college provides along with the personal enrichment that a student
can receive make it worth the time, effort, and the price one pays in order to pursue a college degree.
Students are able to attend either a community college or a four–year university. A student who
attends a community college can have the same opportunities as a student who attends a four – year
university. Both of these types of schools have clubs, organizations, sorority, and tutoring services

Becoming A Graduate Degree At The Ohio State University
People have a hard time figuring out what they were meant to do in life, leading to numerous jobs
before they settle on one. Sometimes these struggles to find what they are meant to do, lead people
to completely changing career fields. I believed that my purpose in life, as I entered college, was to
help lead the young people of today. While finishing up my bachelors degree in Elementary and
Middle Childhood Studies at The Ohio State University, I knew that I wanted to continue my
education and obtain a masters degree. Throughout my entire undergrad, I spent time as a varsity
football assistant coach. That feeling of wanting to lead along with my coaching experience
influenced me to pursue a graduate degree through a program deeply rooted in leadership.
With the amount of broken homes and divorce rate at an all time high, kids do not look to their

our young people are seeing are leading to negative consequences in their life. They make choices

The American National Election Studies Essay
Data The data obtained for this project has been gathered from the American National Election
Studies, better known for short as "ANES." Before continuing it is best to give some background
information of the American National Election Studies, and why they are a reliable source for
information. From the ANES website, they explain, "The mission of the American National Election
Studies is to inform explanations of election outcomes by providing data that support rich
hypothesis testing, maximize methodological excellence, measure many variables, and promote
comparisons across people, contexts, and time" (ANES). ANES is a reliable source for data because
it is used by many other social scientists. Many experiments conducted by other researchers have
relied solely on the data from the American National Election Studies. The data source that is being
used throughout this paper, are results from the American National Election Studies data file for

The, All Things Work Together, Inc.
People often wonder why I decided to call my company "All Things Work Together, Inc." The
explanation for the name is based on an observation of life and our experiences. The name "All
Things Work Together, Inc." is an examination of how all of our life experiences and day–to–day
actions all seem to work together and influence the world we experience now. Women often live
lives that include an overlap, in a sense, of other lives. We are wives at the same time that we are
mothers, sisters, employees, managers, and ourselves. Our male counterparts have that same
existence. On any given day, at any given time, we are all able to pick and choose a hat to fit the role
we must take on for that particular moment in time. However, in the process of taking on all of these
roles, we often forget who we are. Are we a wife? Are we a mother? Are we a sister? Who are we?
We are all of these. Even if we cannot play all of these roles at once, all of these roles exists within
us. These many roles work together to create an individual being.
I like to think of all of journeys as being pieces of quilt with different textures and patterns. Our first
square is when we are born. It may be soft and smooth like a piece of cotton. Around the center
there are squares that add throughout the journey. There are clouds, sunshine, snow and rain because
there are many seasons in our lives. There are picturesque painted views that show waterfalls and
beaches. There are dark places that are

1. For some students attending college, high school grades may be an issue for admittance into some
four year institutions. a. Many accredited four year institutions require a certain standard in which
their prospective students must meet. For some, these standards include a particular GPA, or Grade
Point Average, in which they may not comply with by the end of their high school career. The
guarantee transfer program gives the prospective student the ability to enter a program they may

The Day For Air Conditioned Spaces
You are stationed onboard a ship deployed to the Persian Gulf, the temperature outside exceeds
100°. You 're standing in the lunch line, in front of you is a sailor drenched in sweat looking
impossibly overheated. He is an EN and has been spending his morning in the machinery spaces

Behind you a sailor in a foul weather jacket who is nearly shivering. He is an ET and has just come

devices must remain cold, or they will overheat and malfunction, the spaces are so cold you must
wear a jacket. The EN asks the ET "How did you get so lucky to be working in air–conditioned
spaces while I'm sweating my buttocks off down in the engine room?" The ET replies "Choose your

to be annoying. The Navy 's enlisted ranks are subdivided into occupational skills groups that we
call ratings. Examples of these enlisted ratings include EN or Engineman and ET or Electronic
Technician. When enlisting in the Navy you choose an occupational field you think you would like

course, I was curious about the bachelor's degree, would I just have to go to Main Campus to
complete that degree program? I was surprised to hear Dr. McSkimming inform me that he actually
had a meeting at Main Campus later that week regarding bringing the bachelor's degree program to
Clearfield Campus. Dr. McSkimming stated that the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
that is offered at Clearfield Campus has the same General Education Requirements that would be
needed for a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Dr. McSkimming sounded hopeful that such
advancement could be made to the Clearfield Campus; he added that when he started only
approximately eleven students were declared Criminal Justice majors at Clearfield, currently there
are approximately forty declared students (McSkimming, 2013). With such little information, the
growth of the Criminal Justice field is imminent; knowing this it made me remember a statement Dr.
McSkimming made at the beginning of the semester in my Sociology course regarding the majority

Sports Management : Sport Management
Sport management Did you know that there is more to sports teams than just scoring goals,
touchdowns and runs? Sport management is a field concerning the business and education part of
sports and recreation. It includes the front office system in professional sports, college sports, and
recreation. Some examples of sport managers are: recreational sport managers, sport marketing,
event management, facility management, sport economics, sport finance and sport information.
Sport management can be seen as an easy job, but in reality it is complex and challenging. Sport
management isn't so easy. A sport manager has to have great communication skills in order to talk to
players, coaches, students and other business professionals. They also have to have marketing skills
to sell tickets to sporting events. Sport managers have to learn how to manage their budgets within
their facility or team. Sport managers also need to have a passion for sports before they go into this
job. They may have to start out at the bottom selling tickets and marketing the team, then build their
way up. Eventually they can take jobs that are more demanding, and hopefully move to jobs that
will result in a nice future. If you choose to pursue a career in sport management, you will need to
be communication savvy with kids and community members to help gain their trust. This would
include using social media such as twitter, facebook, instagram and snapchat. Sport managers have a

Is Education Not Enough
"When Education Is Not Enough"
The importance of Education could not be stated enough. It is crucial to the overall development of
an individual and our society. Education is the most self–rewarding entity pertaining to
accomplishments and self–enlightenments. Getting a degree expands your mind, broadens your
maturity, and prepares you for the world. Many people desire an education, but what happens when
there is something prohibiting you from using your education?
My thinking about disabilities have brought me to the topic when questioning why an education is
not enough. While the thought of being able to generate an income after college sounds appealing to
most students the disabled person is limited or struggling to earn the same degree as a functioning
student. The conditions under which disabled people live throughout their daily lives are piled on
top of the tasks and demands of college.
A disabled person deserves the opportunity to experience the educational process for all its joys
rather than fighting for it. Although, the disabled person has every right to earn a degree just as
much as the ordinary person there are limitations when trying to achieve employment for a desired
job. There are also limitations when considering how much a disabled person can handle. This is
something that may also be considered by their perspective employer. After watching the movie
"Temple Grandin" and observing her strengths, challenges, and coping mechanisms I learned that

Essay Bachelor Degree Required
Bachelor Degree Required
Seeking advancement in my company seems to have the term "Bachelor Degree Required" assigned
to it. Without a degree it's not impossible to be promoted, but it's more of an exception than the
norm. At times, should the applicant have sufficient years of equivalent experience and be known by
the group hiring, the requirement can be waived. With the constant change in company policies, the
equivalency option may be removed. Then what am I going to do? With so many younger people
entering the work place with degrees in hand, it is more and more prevalent that I complete my
education.
A college degree combined with several years of experience should help ensure my personal
marketability. "There are more jobseekers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I need to understand the aspects of critical thinking, and how to apply it. Being able to question
who, what, where, when, why and how is just the beginning. Taking the answers to these questions
and learning how to applying them towards the improvement of business or product is the harder
part. For some change is a hard thing to accept. The problem of implementing a change is often
more human than technical. How to install changes and have the changes accepted is a skill I need
to improve upon.
In management you must have the ability to correctly identify the personality traits of others.
Identifying these traits helps identify the type of management that will be required. Understanding
the tendencies of your staff will help in the management of them. Having a good blend of
personality traits working one project will be more beneficial than having to many of the same type.

Attitudes of Undergraduate Music Therapy Students Regarding Master's Level Entry
Bryan L. Hawk
MMT Candidate
Drury University
Review of Literature
To date there is a significant lack of research regarding the opinions of Undergraduate Music
Therapy students concerning the requirements of a Master's Degree for entry–level positions. When
the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) was established in the 1980's, this provided
employers with assurance that we are qualified professionals. Every profession arrives at a crossroad
in a certain point of its development (AMTA, 2011a). The crossroad that undergraduate music
therapists have come to concerns the level of education required for entry–level positions in the
field. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Controversy about entry–level qualifications continues to create concern over whether music
therapists are adequately prepared to enter into professional work upon completion of approved
university programs and internships. In addressing the identity issues of the music therapist, there is
an ongoing controversy over whether the education of the music therapist at the undergraduate level
should serve to prepare a musician who uses therapy, or a therapist who uses music (Bruscia, 1987).
In order to remedy deficits in undergraduate training, some music therapists chose to explore
graduate programs (Bruscia, 1989). Bruscia (1987) proposed that the bachelor's degree in music
therapy should function as preparation for the master's degree, and thus provide a broad–based
education for the development of musical and therapeutic skills. Justification for entry level at the
master's degree level also suggests the possibility of state licensure, which would allow the music
therapist to practice independently and open new opportunities for reimbursement.
The problem over entry–level competencies has been debated since its onset in 1950 when E.
Thayer Gaston sought out to set up a Music Therapy program modeled after music education
(2011a). Given this information, a survey is to be compiled to gather the opinions of undergraduate

100 Careers in Film and Television by Kim Petrosky
With the majority of entertainment careers, starting low, aiming high, networking, talent, and luck
are the key elements of succeeding. While no specific training is necessary to become a casting
director or a talent agent, succession most likely will come with education, practice and the right
skill set.
To fully comprehend the industry, studying at a two or four year college that offers courses in film
and theater arts, like acting and directing, as well as business management is necessary. Casting
directors need to know how to negotiate and understand the complications of working with union
employees. It's also wise to take acting classes. Casting director Kim Petrosky states in her book
"100 Careers in Film and Television" that acting classes will help in understanding actors and the
acting process, identify talent, and ease actors for better auditions.
Talent agencies attract many applicants, but a degree will raise your chances of getting a job.
According to the U.S. New University Directory, the favored degree varies with different agencies.
Some employers desire graduates with business degrees, a bachelor's or a master's degree, and a
marketing specialty, if possible. Suggested courses include marketing, finance, and accounting.
Other agencies would rather hire graduates with a bachelor's degree in communications, advertising,
or journalism, with courses in marketing, sales, and consumer behavior. Another possible degree is a
bachelor's in public relations, with

Becoming A Licensed Christian Counselor
Every person over the age of 19 can honestly say they have been a teenager, and as we all know the
teen years can be pretty tough years. Being able to talk with an adult about these challenges is key to
their future successes; unfortunately, many parents fall short on the explanation of God's physical,
emotional and spiritual design for them. This is where the Christian counselor comes in. It is my
dream and goal to ultimately become a Christian counselor specializing in at–risk teens and
families. To become a licensed Christian counselor, one must start the journey by setting solid
academic goals and pursuing the education required for such licensure. For me, these educational
goals include Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and a Master's degree in Christian
counseling.
You may be asking yourself, why pursue an associate's degree before going for the bachelor's
degree, well let me explain. As a high school student, I couldn't wait to get out of school and join the
working world making money. It wasn't until my late twenties that I became interested in
psychology. Because of life's wonderful journey, I had not been able to pursue a college career to
attain any degree until now. At fifty years old and being unable to work full time because of health
issues, I am finally pursuing my dream. Because of my age and health conditions I am starting with
an associate's degree simply to obtain a degree in case something happens before I can attain a
bachelor's degree.

Benefits Of Going To College And Getting A Bachelor Degree
All high schoolers face the same daunting problem. What they are going to do with their lives. A
choice made as an 18 year old, determines future paths for the rest of their lives. Recently the
subject of going to college and getting a four year degree has become very controversial. HIgh
school students are choosing other alternatives, such as trade school, community college, or even
not getting any further education at all. However even with many other options, going to college and
getting a bachelor's degree is valuable for everyone. Going to college and getting a four year degree
earns individuals more money. Those people make 98% more an hour than those without degrees.
(Leonhardt 1) Over the course of a lifetime, a person with a bachelor's degree will make 1.1 million
dollars opposed to average of 393,000 over a lifetime of someone without a bachelor's degree.

College Essay : Is College Is Worth It?
As high school slowly dwindles away, most of us are in relief that there will not be any more days of
waking up and getting overloaded with knowledge and materials. Now we are left with the question,
is college worth it? For some there is no need for college, and college will only drag them into debt,
but statistics show people with a college degree are making more money in the long run. Casey
Bond wrote an article called "Why College Isn't Worth The Money.¨ In this article she talks about
her personal experiences about going to college. She notes on the fact that for some it is not
beneficial to attend college depending on one's profession. Another article titled ¨"Still Questioning
Whether College Is Worth It," by Danielle Douglas–Gabriel puts the question on the line if college
is worth it. Douglas–Gabriel has a different viewpoint on college. She believes that college is the
most important investment one can make. Think about why most people would stray away from
college. If asked why they didn't go to college, most people would not say that they didn't go
because they didn't want to get a degree. Most of the time it's because of how spendy college is.
Most kids will go into college, and by the time they come out, they will have thousands of dollars
worth of debt. To most this is really scary. Just starting off in the real world already having to pay
off this much debt. "Researchers at the center found that out of 11.6 million jobs created in the post–

Graduation Speech : College Taking Online Classes
Introduction I am currently enrolled in college taking online classes. I've been taking online classes
for more years than I care to remember. In the past I'd take a class or two here, and a semester break
or two there. One of those breaks spanned nearly five years! It wasn't until I was laid off from my
job and forced to seek employment for the first time in nearly thirty–six years, that it became clear
to me that most employers won't seriously consider your application if you don't have a college
degree. While I had considerable experience in all of the fields I applied for, I lacked the educational
requirements listed in the employment announcement. Now four classes away from achieving my
goal I look back to considered all the hard work and sacrifice that has gone into my getting this far
and I ask, "Could anything deter me from completing my mission and reaching my goal?" This
paper will consider a similar situation and ask the question, "When faced with a problem, what do
you do to solve it? To answer this question I will attempt to apply a six–step problem solving
process to this specific problem. I will write a paper that presents a combination of my ideas about
solving this problem using this systematic approach. Scenario #1: You have worked at your
company for eleven (11) years. You have returned to college to earn a Bachelor's degree in order to

The Pros And Cons Of Journalism
Journalism is the type of writing that investigates and includes lots of research of good and bad
stories and some events. Journalists tend to write news stories that people should know about and
haven't already heard. Journalism comes in different categories; some are reporters, writers, editors,
and photographers. People who tend to like journalism are those who love language and enjoy
writing and reading, are called journalist; they work as reporters at newspapers, magazines,
websites, TV stations, and radio stations. Good journalists love to read and want to find out what is
going on around them and the world. They write short and long stories as they must write true
stories. Journalists write stories that are from real people and they make the stories real too. People
are not interested in reading newspapers now as much as they used to long time ago. These days'
people carry news on their iPods, cell phones, laptops, and more. They can even watch them on TV.
A long time ago people knew the news through newspapers or the rich would have a radio which
was the only way to know what is going in the world, but now news is everywhere.
There are lots requirements needed to get into the program called journalism, how long it takes to be
a journalist, and beneficial to public and themselves. Unfortunately, high school course needed to

Is College Worth It?
Is College Worth It?
In recent discussions of Is College Worth It? By John Green, a controversial issue has been whether,
people should attend college or get a job after they finish high school. On the one hand, some argue
that people can get a monthly income better than if they have a degree. From this perspective, some
people they do not want to attend college. On the other hand, however, others insist that people
should attend college after they finish high school. In the words of John Green, one of this view's
proponents, "after graduating from college, I actually made $1 per hour less when I started working
as an assistant at Booklist Magazine, but the job was better in every way" (video). According to this
view, he was working at Stake and Shake and he was getting better salary than what he got after
graduate by 1$ less but money is not everything in life. Then he proved to the audiences through his
experience that he was more comfortable with working as assistant at Booklist Magazine even he is
making less money. Because he got a better job, got the knowledge, and work on something that he
like. In sum, then, the issue is whether to attend college or work without a degree. My own view is
that attending college is worth it even if it will cost some sacrifices of things that we can get it in the
future. After, all, I have chosen to identify as a college student at Winona State University. Though I

Higher Education : Is It Worth It?
Higher Education – Is It Worth It?
Everyone always says that college is what you're supposed to do after graduating; College has
become an "expected" part of life. Everyone always says that you're degree or "academic
qualifications" is what will lead you on the road of success and help you achieve your goals.
However, is it actually putting you on the road to success? Are your academic qualifications indeed
important to your chances of a successful career? I think so. I find that a higher education will bring
you closer to the successful path you want to be on in life. A degree will not only bring in extra pay
for you, but will also raise your chances of employment as well as make you more marketable to an
employer as well.
According to an article written by Beckie Supiano, "Over their careers, full–time, full–year workers
whose highest degree is a bachelor 's make 74 percent more, on average, than those whose highest
attainment is a high–school diploma, the authors found. When those with more than a bachelor 's
degree are included, the premium for higher education rises to 84 percent." (Supiano 2014)
Agreeing with this statement is a similar claim in an article written by Michelle Arrouas, stating that
"Among the key findings are that people aged 25–32 with a bachelor 's degree or more have a
median annual income of $45,000 and lower unemployment (3.8%), while high school graduates
only make $28,000 and 12.2% of them are unemployed. The study also showed that just

category within the level 5–education requirement, I had one job that stood out over the others;
category one conventional had Math Professor. This job is something that would be interesting, but I

Introduction
Parents and family provides a significantly direct impact on their children through learning and
development of the child's social competence. In the case where parents find themselves actively
involved in their child's growth and development, the same child has the ability of achieving the best
results, exhibiting positive attitudes, and demonstrate values and behaviors that propel success. For
early childhood providers, the need to reach out to parents and families with the aim of building the
kind of relationships that are paramount in engaging them as active partners in early education is
significant. The assertions made by the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network support this
idea. Therefore, the focus of this narrative puts emphasis on my family's contribution towards the

However, I ended up fitting in well at National because most students were like me. They had jobs

The Benefits Of A Four Year College
The Benefit to a Four year College
When students graduate from high school. They feel that they don 't need to pursue a four year
college degree. High school graduates may feel happy with just a diploma. When students graduate
also feel that it may be wasteful, and not expand their career choices and their financial outlook.
High school graduates feel they have enough social skills to interact into today 's society. They may

Getting a four year college degree is worth it because they can better themselves economically,

High school graduates may feel that it may not be worth it, because with a four year college is just a

The Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center : Case Study Having your priorities in order when it comes to the organization that you're a part of is detrimental regarding the livelihood of the organization. At the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center (CCSSLC), the administration normally looks to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to point out what's important to the organization. Even though knowing what's important to your organization should not require outside assistance, the CCSSLC seems as if they need guidance when it comes to putting first things first (Steven Covey's Habit 3). https://www.stephencovey.com/7habits/7habits– habit3.php Back in 2007, there was the infamous "fight club" at the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center (ABC News). ... • 9. Why Bother Pursuing Higher Education? Why bother pursuing higher education? A typical student on average goes to school starting from kindergarten to high school. After, students decide whether to seek a higher education in college or start working. For most people, the key to education is to equip young adults with the ability to survive and to make a standard living in the future. In this essay, I will not only argue why it is unnecessary for young adults to pursue higher education, such as college and beyond, but also that obtaining a college degree is irrelevant. The first reason why I strongly believe in this, is that even though students earn a college degree, there isn't a guaranteed position for a set job. Second, some jobs that students are employed at don't require a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, Davis emphasized to me that companies these days are looking for unique individuals who show great passion, standout, and have previous work experience. Some students may think that after attending college and obtaining a college degree, there will be less pressure and stress. That is somewhat true, but one important thing that will haunt college graduates for years, is paying off massive loans. Graduates need to figure out the fastest and most efficient way of paying off debts, otherwise interest rates will keep increasing. Furthermore, in the Huffington Post, reporter Bonnie Kavoussi announced that, "The average student loan debt burden for borrowers under age 30, as of the end of March, has risen 56 percent since the beginning of 2005 to a record $20,835." An escalation in borrowed loans clearly shows that fewer families each year qualify for financial aid. This burden will cause most students to work in order obtain money to pay off their tuition loans. However, the average starting salary for recent college graduates has plunged to 10 percent to $27,000 per year, according to recent Rutgers University study. With fewer people each year getting federal aid and low starting job salaries, it would take graduates much longer to fully pay off their deficit. This is an opportunity given to children to experience what they like or dislike, in order to make a career choices for their adult life. When it came to growing up as a child I enjoyed every second of it, as a kid everything that interest me or I enjoyed doing was what I wanted to be. I remember having a few dogs that I adored so much and because of that I wanted to be a Veterinarian. Now, as a kid not once did I ever think about the things I had to do to head toward that career. I didn't know how long I had to go to college, the amount of salary for each profession, and the requirements of the job and the different job positions. I also would love to dance and wanted to be a choreographer. As we continue to grow older and understand the different circumstances, our job choice will constantly change, until you have reached a decision making point. Even then sometimes it will not stick and we will continue to change our mind. I finally decided what it was I wanted to do as my career choice about a year ago. • 21. Benefits Of A Unified Salary Schedule There are many advantages and disadvantages to a single, unified salary schedule. These types of salary schedules only recognize years of service and amount of education to determine salary amounts for all certified staff. Each salary schedule has strengths and areas of improvement, and analysis of the salary schedule will highlight these areas. Salary schedules, including Hollister RV School District's, only require teachers to remain employed thorough the school year to earn a raise in pay for the next year, automatically moving to the next step on the salary schedule. Pay increases also are earned by moving to the next lane or column based on the hours of graduate credit completed toward an advanced degree, such as a Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral degree. Hollister RV School District's certified staff's salary schedule discloses several areas of exceptionality, highlighting what is important to the District. However, there are also areas to be improved, including recruitment and retention (Hollister RV School District, 2016). One exceptional characteristic of the salary schedule is that the vertical steps carry the same monetary value as the horizontal columns with the exception of completing a Master's degree or a Specialist degree. • 25. Online College Vs. Online Education If you're in Nigeria, online degree has been all over the media lately. The online courses are not something that comes easily, especially if you are dealing with foreign online universities. Online schools or what most Nigerians call distance learning is not fun and working with your online degree at your home allows you to learn in your own way; and allows you to retain ownership how fast you wish to earn your degree. Fully accredited online colleges like national Open University of Nigeria and Walden University course materials online have earned a widely recognized form of university accreditation from one of the top six regional accreditation boards in Nigeria. Even till now, students enrolled in online degree programs in Nigeria are ineligible for federal student aid unless at least half of their programs was campus based (a law that was established in 1992 and known as the 50–percent rule), even though that is a different situation for most Nigerians rushing to register online degree programs. Firstly, you need to make sure your online school choice does have accreditation; this means the institution has passed a specific level of standards through a recognized organization for upholding quality education. In countries like U.S and U.K, It 's the Department of Education and also the Council for College Accreditation that recognizes the Distance Education and Training Council as the accrediting organization for distance learning institutions and education programs ... Assistant designers are generally all–around assistants and designers. They make first patterns and samples or may supervise sample makers. " They work together with their directors on their sketches, and help put together their catalogs."(Baron, pg 73) Specialty designers work with other designers to coordinate special lines of clothing, such as sweaters. They often arrange for styles to be made in foreign countries. Theatrical costume designers create costumes for movies or theatrical productions, usually on a contact basis. As you may know fashion designers create anything that is part of a garment for men, women, and children. Sometimes these struggles to find what they are meant to do, lead people to completely changing career fields. I believed that my purpose in life, as I entered college, was to help lead the young people of today. While finishing up my bachelors degree in Elementary and Middle Childhood Studies at The Ohio State University, I knew that I wanted to continue my education and obtain a masters degree. That feeling of wanting to lead along with my coaching experience influenced me to pursue a graduate degree through a program deeply rooted in leadership. With the amount of broken homes and divorce rate at an all time high, kids do not look to their parents for guidance anymore, instead they look at celebrities. Younger generations have always been easily influenced by what they see in society. If they see someone popular on tv doing something or wearing something, they have to do their best to mimic it. Nowadays the things that our young people are seeing are leading to negative consequences in their life. The explanation for the name is based on an observation of life and our experiences. The name "All Things Work Together, Inc." is an examination of how all of our life experiences and day–to–day actions all seem to work together and influence the world we experience now. Women often live lives that include an overlap, in a sense, of other lives. We are wives at the same time that we are mothers, sisters, employees, managers, and ourselves. Our male counterparts have that same existence. On any given day, at any given time, we are all able to pick and choose a hat to fit the role we must take on for that particular moment in time. However, in the process of taking on all of these roles, we often forget who we are. Are we a wife? Are we a mother? Are we a sister? Who are we? We are all of these. Even if we cannot play all of these roles at once, all of these roles exists within us. These many roles work together to create an individual being. I like to think of all of journeys as being pieces of quilt with different textures and patterns. Our first square is when we are born. It may be soft and smooth like a piece of cotton. Controversy about entry–level qualifications continues to create concern over whether music therapists are adequately prepared to enter into professional work upon completion of approved university programs and internships. In addressing the identity issues of the music therapist, there is an ongoing controversy over whether the education of the music therapist at the undergraduate level should serve to prepare a musician who uses therapy, or a therapist who uses music (Bruscia, 1987). In order to remedy deficits in undergraduate training, some music therapists chose to explore graduate programs (Bruscia, 1989). Bruscia (1987) proposed that the bachelor's degree in music therapy should function as preparation for the master's degree, and thus provide a broad–based education for the development of musical and therapeutic skills. Justification for entry level at the master's degree level also suggests the possibility of state licensure, which would allow the music therapist to practice independently and open new opportunities for reimbursement. While no specific training is necessary to become a casting director or a talent agent, succession most likely will come with education, practice and the right skill set. To fully comprehend the industry, studying at a two or four year college that offers courses in film and theater arts, like acting and directing, as well as business management is necessary. Casting directors need to know how to negotiate and understand the complications of working with union employees. It's also wise to take acting classes. Casting director Kim Petrosky states in her book "100 Careers in Film and Television" that acting classes will help in understanding actors and the acting process, identify talent, and ease actors for better auditions. Talent agencies attract many applicants, but a degree will raise your chances of getting a job. According to the U.S. New University Directory, the favored degree varies with different agencies. Some employers desire graduates with business degrees, a bachelor's or a master's degree, and a marketing specialty, if possible. Suggested courses include marketing, finance, and accounting. Other agencies would rather hire graduates with a bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, or journalism, with courses in marketing, sales, and consumer behavior. As high school slowly dwindles away, most of us are in relief that there will not be any more days of waking up and getting overloaded with knowledge and materials. Now we are left with the question, is college worth it? For some there is no need for college, and college will only drag them into debt, but statistics show people with a college degree are making more money in the long run. Casey Bond wrote an article called "Why College Isn't Worth The Money.¨ In this article she talks about her personal experiences about going to college. She notes on the fact that for some it is not beneficial to attend college depending on one's profession. Another article titled ¨"Still Questioning Whether College Is Worth It," by Danielle Douglas–Gabriel puts the question on the line if college is worth it. Douglas–Gabriel has a different viewpoint on college. She believes that college is the most important investment one can make. Think about why most people would stray away from college. If asked why they didn't go to college, most people would not say that they didn't go because they didn't want to get a degree. Most of the time it's because of how spendy college is. Most kids will go into college, and by the time they come out, they will have thousands of dollars worth of debt. To most this is really scary. Just starting off in the real world already having to pay off this much debt. "Researchers at the center found that out of 11.6 million jobs created in the post– recession ... • 117. Graduation Speech : College Taking Online Classes Introduction I am currently enrolled in college taking online classes. I've been taking online classes for more years than I care to remember. In the past I'd take a class or two here, and a semester break or two there. One of those breaks spanned nearly five years! It wasn't until I was laid off from my job and forced to seek employment for the first time in nearly thirty–six years, that it became clear to me that most employers won't seriously consider your application if you don't have a college degree. While I had considerable experience in all of the fields I applied for, I lacked the educational requirements listed in the employment announcement. Now four classes away from achieving my goal I look back to considered all the hard work and sacrifice that has gone into my getting this far and I ask, "Could anything deter me from completing my mission and reaching my goal?" This paper will consider a similar situation and ask the question, "When faced with a problem, what do you do to solve it? To answer this question I will attempt to apply a six–step problem solving process to this specific problem. I will write a paper that presents a combination of my ideas about solving this problem using this systematic approach. Scenario #1: You have worked at your company for eleven (11) years. You have returned to college to earn a Bachelor's degree in order to increase your chances for a promotion. You are nearly finished with your degree, when a supervisor's position ... Good journalists love to read and want to find out what is going on around them and the world. They write short and long stories as they must write true stories. Journalists write stories that are from real people and they make the stories real too. People are not interested in reading newspapers now as much as they used to long time ago. These days' people carry news on their iPods, cell phones, laptops, and more. They can even watch them on TV. A long time ago people knew the news through newspapers or the rich would have a radio which was the only way to know what is going in the world, but now news is everywhere. There are lots requirements needed to get into the program called journalism, how long it takes to be a journalist, and beneficial to public and themselves. • 125. Is College Worth It? Is College Worth It? In recent discussions of Is College Worth It? By John Green, a controversial issue has been whether, people should attend college or get a job after they finish high school. On the one hand, some argue that people can get a monthly income better than if they have a degree. From this perspective, some people they do not want to attend college. On the other hand, however, others insist that people should attend college after they finish high school. In the words of John Green, one of this view's proponents, "after graduating from college, I actually made $1 per hour less when I started working as an assistant at Booklist Magazine, but the job was better in every way" (video). According to this view, he was working at Stake and Shake and he was getting better salary than what he got after graduate by 1$ less but money is not everything in life. Then he proved to the audiences through his experience that he was more comfortable with working as assistant at Booklist Magazine even he is making less money. Because he got a better job, got the knowledge, and work on something that he like. In sum, then, the issue is whether to attend college or work without a degree. My own view is that attending college is worth it even if it will cost some sacrifices of things that we can get it in the future. After, all, I have chosen to identify as a college student at Winona State University. Though I concede that choosing the university and working to enroll and pay the ... • 129. Higher Education : Is It Worth It? Higher Education – Is It Worth It? Everyone always says that college is what you're supposed to do after graduating; College has become an "expected" part of life. Everyone always says that you're degree or "academic qualifications" is what will lead you on the road of success and help you achieve your goals. However, is it actually putting you on the road to success? Are your academic qualifications indeed important to your chances of a successful career? I think so. I find that a higher education will bring you closer to the successful path you want to be on in life. A degree will not only bring in extra pay for you, but will also raise your chances of employment as well as make you more marketable to an employer as well. According to an article written by Beckie Supiano, "Over their careers, full–time, full–year workers whose highest degree is a bachelor 's make 74 percent more, on average, than those whose highest attainment is a high–school diploma, the authors found. When those with more than a bachelor 's degree are included, the premium for higher education rises to 84 percent." (Supiano 2014) Agreeing with this statement is a similar claim in an article written by Michelle Arrouas, stating that "Among the key findings are that people aged 25–32 with a bachelor 's degree or more have a median annual income of $45,000 and lower unemployment (3.8%), while high school graduates only make $28,000 and 12.2% of them are unemployed. Career and Interest Self–assessment Results This self–assessment test was something that narrowed down possible interest and helped the participants open their mind to new careers. In–fact when I finished my test I was able to view the different careers that feel in my interest category. Taking a survey and calculating the different likes each field had accumulated determined my test outcome. After gathering the likes that had accumulated I was able to determine which inventory category was strongest. My top inventory was conventional which states, I am one who likes to follow set rules and procedures, and prefers detail and clear lines of authority (Self–Assessment, n.d.). My second strongest inventory category was Social, which states, I like work activities that promote learning and development (Self–Assessment, n.d.). Not only did I learn what my strongest inventory was I also had the ability to learn which jobs fell under those categories. Out of each category within the level 5–education requirement, I had one job that stood out over the others; category one conventional had Math Professor. This job is something that would be interesting, but I am not sure if I would want this job as a career. The social category had one job that also caught my eye, health educator. After all the research and looking at each one of the categories and the possible job opportunities I have come to the realization that the test are estimates. Introduction Parents and family provides a significantly direct impact on their children through learning and development of the child's social competence. In the case where parents find themselves actively involved in their child's growth and development, the same child has the ability of achieving the best results, exhibiting positive attitudes, and demonstrate values and behaviors that propel success. For early childhood providers, the need to reach out to parents and families with the aim of building the kind of relationships that are paramount in engaging them as active partners in early education is significant. The assertions made by the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network support this idea. Therefore, the focus of this narrative puts emphasis on my family's contribution towards the economy of my native country. However, before delving much into the topic of my family and its economic contribution to the country, it is significant to identify the importance of the family in shaping my journey to this doctorate education.my family, just like any other, has been playing a crucial role in shaping and promoting the positive skills that I presently hold dearly. Likewise, in 2001, close to 3 million people 35 years or older were enrolled in college, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.
