Charlie Manson Research Paper
Charlie Manson, as a child, lived a broken life. His mother did not want anything to do with him.
She was a prostitute and an alcoholic that tried to escape Charlie by throwing him in schools and
tossing him on the street. He ended up getting put behind bars for a great fraction of his life. He
never really ended up having a childhood. All it consisted of was hate and refusal. This taught him
wrong and put him in a state of psychic trauma which craved love and attention. This attention he
got was from negative doing, such as stealing a car and going to jail. A cult is a group of people with
similar interests, and lead usually by a trusted leader. This leader will have to convince others into
believing or provide a place where they can worship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I can believe you can persuade someone to believe completely in what one wants. I think the person
has to be weak and easily fall from pressure. These are the factors to create a perfect person to bring
into a cul. You have them believe you entirely, and then have them do your dirty work. I do not
think anyone can find this kind of person and change their way of life, but a strong and intelligent
mind that can manipulate well. These people believed him, because they may have gone through
similar things through life. He gave them what they were looking for, rather it be food, comfort, or
sex. These are something the weak and vulnerable people didn't have while growing up like Charles,
but he understood and knew how to control that. There were a lot of kids dropping out of education
and avoiding being drafted in the war that they ended up living in the streets. The majority were
drug users and abusers that have a messed up life. Along comes an ex–con who dabbled with
satanism, the process, early scientology, and worked his ability to mirror what the kids wanted to
hear, Hungry for a charismatic figure they glum onto him in the hopes of a better existence. This
lead Charles Manson to be a leader of a cult of who would do anything and everything for him. He
led people to believe he was the returned Jesus Christ, and told others he was Satan in body form.
This convinced confused Christians and other to believe

Sexualization Of Advertising : The Objectification Of...
Objectification of women is on the rise in society today. The underlying message is that women are
living in a sexually gratified atmosphere. From advertisements to television and magazines etc.
Woman are exploited as sexual objects while men believe depicting images of women in a sexual
manner is funny or sexy but why not offensive or degrading? Therefore, advertisements influence
the core of the sexualization of culture.
The Carl's Jr Tex Mex Bacon Thickburger Commercial shown on television is a clear example of
how women are objectified in advertising. The ad is to promote the idea of the new TexMex
thickburger but how you may ask? It includes two models representing Mexico and the other United
States. Both women are in tight fitted cheeky bikinis competing over whether the fast food is "Tex"
or "Mex" playing volleyball. The idea of the commercial was made to appeal to men in seeking an
attraction from the target audience using women in a sexual aesthetic. As both men are watching
from the bleachers they are sure enjoying the women compete on who is right. "Should we tell them
it's both?" a man watching the game adds before his friend is quick to answer "eventually", this
bodily language emphasizes that both men already know it's both Tex and Mex combined but want
to watch the women as they are jumping around playing dirty in such bikinis. The ad has created a
way to lure men to purchase a specific brand of burger using women's body. Generally, it's a win
win situation because advertisements affect cultural ideas and what people desire, the influence of
individuals is overlooked more than the actual persuading of buying the product. In "Can't Buy My
Love" and Killing Us Softly by Jean Kilbourne she relates society as a passive mirror where
advertisements develop an effective pervasive medium of influence because as people consume ads
they see they will eventually base it off themselves personally. With ad's constantly lingering, our
mind is presented to subconsciously process the ad and the sexual appearances. Therefore, by
showing these attractive women as a highlight, it advertises the objective of women in making you
crave this specific burger.
In other words, advertising is something that is so engraved

No Parole : Should Not Be Granted Parole?
Monika Doughty Ms.Yocum Foundation of English 5 January 2016 No parole Would you kill for
love or to feel loved by a convict? Well Patricia Krenwinkel did. Patricia should not be granted
parole because she knew right from wrong. That night when Manson picked her for the murders she
was excited, She knew she was going to kill. "This is a crime children grow up hearing about," said
parole commissioner Susan Melanson.(Killer Cult) All her decisions to kill for Manson was all on

such harsh things to another human being. On top of that She ate food out of the fridge of her

after her murders she acted as if she did nothing wrong, as if she knew nothing of the murders. She

night (Killer Cult). How can you Take the main part in 7 murders in two nights and not apologizes
to any of the victim 's families or show remorse? Patricia doesn't care about the safety of others, she

The Crystal Frontier By Carlos Fuentes
In The Crystal Frontier, Carlos Fuentes presents two of his main characters in much a similar
fashion; in Spoils, we find Dionisio is a world–renowned chef and cuisine connoisseur, and also a
fervent critic of American cuisine and culture. Dionisio believes that through his country's
chromosomal imperialism, Mexico will be able to solidify its sphere of influence in America;
however, when he travels to the United States, he indulges in the same institutions that he ridicules
when he lives in Mexico. Similarly, in Pain we encounter the young and aspiring doctor, Juan
Zamora. Zamora is an ambitious student who travels to the United States to further his education
and learns that successful networking is the way to get ahead in American society. Zamora and
Dionisio are both functions of their environment. When they are living in America, they are
exhibiting an innate interconnectedness with society, and when they live in Mexico–quite the
opposite; Zamora and Dionisio display traditional attributes which are stereotypical to that of the
Mexican who lives in solitude. This essay will seek to dissect each character and describe how each
utilizes his own respective "Mexican Mask" to acquire what he truly desires, and it will describe
how each character's personality fluctuates simply due to where he is geographically located.
Dionisio believes that through Mexico's "chromosomal imperialism" his country will endure and
even spread its cultural influence in the United States

Informative Essay: The Manson Trial
The Manson trial began in June of 1970. The jury in this case was locked up for the entire trial to
protect the jury from the publicity and the harassment they would face from the public. Five women
and seven men were selected to be on the jury with ages spanning from twenty–five to seventy–
three. One of the jury members was a retired deputy sheriff.
The prosecutor of this case was Vincent Bugliosi. Bugliosi's opening statement described Manson a
man "Who would refer to himself as Jesus Christ", he "was a killer who cleverly masqueraded
behind the common image of a hippie that of being peace loving." Manson's defense made sure that
The Family were well connected. They did this by having Manson communicate with his followers

To this day, Manson receives mail in prison from young people wanting to join the family, and gets
more mail than any other convict in the american prison system. Manson still remains relevant in
our culture, with movies, documentaries, plays, and operas written about him. The popular rock
band Guns 'n' Roses has also performed many of his songs. The reason Manson remains so relevant
is because of the high profile victims he planned, including many celebrities and even President
Ford. In the minds of the average american alive at the time, Manson has become a metaphor for
pure evil, equivocal to the devil himself. Today, almost every extremist and hate mongering group in
america, from the clan to the neo–nazis, have embraced Manson's philosophy and hailed him as a
saint. While in prison, Manson has been charged with almost every conceivable crime, from treason
to marijuana possession. Manson has refused to attend his last two parole hearings after the board
informed him that he would not be allowed to attend without handcuffs. The majority of the Mason
family is still in prison on a list of charges that seemingly goes on forever. There are a few who have
either served their sentences or have earned parole, and continue actively advertising and serving
the family. The tactics have changed but the message is still the same, web pages and blogs have

Spencer GayheartAuthentic Mexican food and Tex–Mex foods are just different types of Mexican
foods. Many of the so–called Mexican foods we love like hard shell tacos, burritos, and nachos are
all Tex–Mex foods. Tex–Mex is the abbreviation for Texas–Mexican foods. Many Mexican heritage
people think Tex–Mex food is fake and not as good as real, traditional Mexican food. Most
Americans are more likely to mention Chipotle and Taco Bell when they think of "Mexican"
dishes.Tex–Mex cuisine became popular for the first time in San Antonio, Texas in the 1880s. "Tex–
Mex" is a combination of Mexican and American recipes, created by individuals called the Tejanos.

Another difference is Tex–Mex foods such as burritos, nachos, puffy and breakfast tacos, etc. are
not eaten or made by authentic Mexican families. The third difference is authentic Mexican food
tastes different than Tex–Mex cuisine because Mexican food tends to have more home grown
ingredients compared to store bought, which causes Mexican food to be fresher and have more
flavor. There are many geographic regions in which authentic Mexican food can be found. They
include The Bajio, The North, North Pacific Coast, South Pacific Coast, The South, The Gulf, and
Central Mexico. The geographic region in which Tex–Mex cuisine can be found, is in the South
Central region of the United States and Central Canada. Restaurants that serve Tex–Mex food are
Chuy's, Roscoe's Tacos, On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina, and Chili's Grill and Bar. A
commonly asked question from the restaurant Roscoe's Tacos is "Does this place serve enchiladas?"
and the answer is "No!" because it is not on the menu at a Tex–Mex diner. Another commonly asked
question from Chuy's is " Does this restaurant have a drive–through?" and the answer is "No!"
because they are a sit–down restaurant where food is prepared

Infamous cult leader and convicted killer of the 60s Charles Manson died in prison at the age of 83
this Sunday. Manson was known for his involvement in the killings of at least seven people in
California in 1969. This included 8–month–pregnant actress, Sharon Tate. It was found in the trial
that he told his "family" what to do and where, and they carried out his commands. The plan behind
the killings was to start a race war, hoping the killings would be seen a something done by black
people. "If you're going to do something, do it well. And leave something witchy," Manson said in
an interview with Diane Sawyer. There were two killings sites, one with Tate and her friends, the

The 60s were a point when it was normal for teens and young adults to leave home and start their
lives elsewhere, whether or not it was with the hippie movement. It was also when there was a good
amount of civil rights activities were going on and the Black Panthers came on the scene. It was
revealed in a book about Manson that his plan he thought their was going to be a war between
balock and white people. He wanted to start this war with the killings, hoping people would think
black people, or a civil rights group, had committed the murders. In Manson's mind this would have
started the war, which he called Helter Skelter after the Beatles song. Manson's life would most
likely have gone differently if he had a different childhood. He grew up with his aunt and uncle for
most of his young childhood, because his father left and his mother was in jail for a number of
years. When she got out and he went to live with her, she didn't want him and tried to get him put in
foster homes and the like. When he was sent away to a school for boys, he ran away to find her
again. This time he understood that his mother didn't want him when she would not take him

Tex–Mex vs. Mexican Tex Mex and Mexican are both very common foods. In the 1500s Native
Americans lived in the area that is now Texas for thousands of years. More than 300 years before
that Texas was part of the spanish colony known as New Spain. In the years since a number of have
been completely combined to produce what is known as Tex Mex cuisine today. The history of
Mexican food is long and diverse. It is said that authentic mexican food might of been made by the
Mayans. The Mayans were nomadic hunters and gatherers who mostly ate wild game, tropic fruits,
and fish, but corn and tortillas with a bean paste was also a popular food item. This is the history of

West African, and Portuguese. Overall Mexican food and Tex Mex are now enjoyed
nationwide.People often confuse Mexican and Tex–Mex, because it turns out while there are
difference between the two there are many similarities also. For example flour tortillas are
commonly used in both Mexican and Tex–Mex dishes. Another similarities is some of the dishes.
For example chile con queso,or chile with cheese, is a common dish in the Mexican and Tex–Mex

A 43 year old New York woman named Rosemary Billquist was shot dead with a pistol by a hunter
who thought she was a deer. Rosemary was killed when she took her dogs for a walk in her home
town near the Pennsylvania border around 5:30 on Wednesday. As police investigate they say that
Rosemary was walking in a field when a man hunting nearby mistook her for a deer and shot her
once with a pistol. The hunter heard her scream, called 911 and stayed by the girl's side until
emergency crews arrived. She was then taken to a hospital where she was then pronounced dead.
Officials said the shooting occurred about forty minutes after sunset, when it is illegal to hunt.
Police said the hunter had not been charged and the investigation was continuing.

Can Teflon Cause Cancer? : Facts & Myths Essay examples
For some years now there has been quite a bit of controversy as to whether the non–stick Teflon
coating on pots and pans is actually harmful to humans. However, more recent there has even been
rumor that this marvelous invention that every kitchen maid loves, may actually cause cancer. So
how much of this is fact, and how much is just myth?
First of all, it may be prudent to explain exactly what Teflon is. Teflon, is the registered trademark
of a man–made chemical known as polytetrafluorothylene (PTFE), and has been in commercial use
since the mid–1940s.
As far as man–made chemicals go, Teflon is an extremely resilient, almost frictionless, non–stick
surface that is not only used within the cook–wear industry, but also the fabric ... Show more

Well, when for example a Teflon coated pan is heated to 500 degrees of more, a certain amount of
PFOA that remains in the surface coating gets released into the air via the smoke and gasses, and
inhaled. Although, to reach a degree of 500 or more would usually be when the pan gets forgotten
and left on the hot plate to overheat.
If most American have a low level of PFOA in their blood, it cannot be harmful!
This depends, as lab studies on animals have found that exposure to PFOA does actually increase
the risk of tumors of the liver, mammary glands, pancreas, and testicles. Although, there is still no
certainty as to how PFOA actually causes these tumors, and if the chemical would actually react in
the same way in the human body.
However, studies that have taken place on humans, as of this moment only show that where over
exposure to the chemical (usually only in the workplace) has occurred, a higher risk of bladder,
kidney, and testicular cancer have been found.
So where does this leave the household user of Teflon?
It would probably be wise to say, that in normal use, Teflon is quite safe to use, and the risks of
developing cancer through its use would be quite remote. However, this being said and done,
careless use of the product would almost certainly raise a degree of concern as to the possibility of
this remoteness becoming certain danger.
As with most products, when used with a certain degree of diligence, and in accordance with the

In 1967 the Manson Family began in Venice, California. Charles Manson took the role of being a
leader to his cult members by making connections between religion and rock n' roll music in order
to brainwash them with his beliefs. During the summer of 1969, it is documented that there was a
total of twenty–four dead bodies throughout three different murder scenes. Most believe there was a
total of thirty–five killings, but some were not included in the total because there was not enough
evidence. Due to the crimes committed, some wonder if Charles was severely mentally ill and did
not have any control over his wrong doings. Mentally ill or not, that doesn't justify his actions nor
make it acceptable to treat Manson different from any other serial killer. Charles Manson was born

Most violent related crimes are not committed by someone who suffers from Schizophrenia. Not all
people with this illness have the same symptoms and each symptom can alter over an extensive
amount of time. When Manson mixed drugs he used with this illness, it turned into something else.
Substance abuse can substantially increase violence and hallucinations. Bad hallucinations not only
include false seeings, but also false hearing, feeling, tasting, and smelling of things that are not real.

It wasn't until the 1990's that Doctors discovered a new medication to help Schizophrenia. These
drugs are commonly taken in a pill or liquid form once or twice a month. Delusions should go away
in a matter of a few weeks, but it often takes up to six weeks to see a significant improvement.
Maybe if this medication would have came a little sooner, Manson and his family wouldn't have had
the chance to do the horrific things they did.
He definitely succeeded in controlling the minds of his cult members along with other young people

Reflection Paper
I arrived to the United States a few years ago from Mexico. I was a teenager when my parents
decided to move to the United States. We moved here because my parents wanted to give me and
my siblings a better education and improve our standard of living. When my parent gave us the
news, the first thing I felt was fear, I was afraid because I did not where we were going and what to
expect about the new place that we would call our home. I had to leave the place I grew up, my
family, and my friends behind, and I felt that I was not ready for that big change. I remember the
first day I came to the United States with my family and at the beginning it was a struggle to adapt
to a new language, to a new culture. Mexico differs from the United States when it comes to
language. When I got here I entered the 9th grade and the first issue I encounter was the language
barrier. When I was in Mexico I studied English but it was just basic words, and I could barely make
a sentence. The first school year was very difficult for me because I was not confident with my
English and this was an obstacle that prevented me from making friends. The way I was able to
improve my English was to record the lectures and go back and listen to them after school, I used to
copy every word from the board and once I was home I looked up every word until those words
make sense to me, and finally I used to watch shows and movies with subtitles to be able to
understand. In class the first year all I used to

Chris Slayten, 12.17.17Tex–mex and actual Mexican food are two very different kinds of food with
each kind also coming with two very different kinds of backgrounds.Tex–Mex started when
American people discovered Texas and all the Mexican people that lived there at the time, along
with their food.Sooner or later people started moving into Texas and due to its proximity to Mexico,
people wanted Mexican food. Due to them not being able to import the certain ingredients they
used, they started using more American ingredients as of which Tex–Mex was born. Some differences
between Tex–Mex and real Mexican food would include types of cheese, taco shells, and portion
sizes. First off, the cheese you see in Tex–Mex is yellow cheese. It is not very common in Mexico

America you would get a taco and beans and rice(cause everythings bigger in Texas). With

Charles Manson Psychology
Charles Manson is an example of a leader who used his power for pure evil. Charles Manson was
never actually found guilty of the murders committed in 1969. He was found guilty of first degree
murder of directing the murders. He was originally sentenced to death but in 1972 the California
Supreme Court invalidated all outstanding death sentences to life in prison.
To this day, Charles Manson still has a loyal "cult–like" following. His leadership style was to prey
on those who struggled in life, those who did not have a solid life and were looking for direction.
Once he was able to reach them he would use coercion, fear and an array of drugs to keep them
loyal.

He lead the group first to San Francisco and then to a deserted ranch in The Fernando Valley. The
group was about a hundred people and would soon start referring to themselves as the "Manson
Family." This was the family many of them never had and so the desire to belong made them loyal
to Manson.
There was a core group within the Manson Family. It was composed of two young men, Charles
"Tex" Watson, Bobby Beausoleil, and four young impressionable women. It would be this group
that Manson was able to brainwash to commit murders. They believed he was Jesus and that they
were in an "apocalyptic war". He was also able to get them to carry out the murders. Manson was at
both homes but he never committed the acts of murder himself, having enough power over his core
members that he could have them carry out his plans.
On July 25, 1969 the Manson Family members murdered an acquaintance, Gary Hinman over
money. August 8th, 1969 the Manson Family would murder again. This time they murdered an eight
and half month pregnant actress, Sharon Tate in her home. They also murdered four others at the

People think of cool cowboys as soon as people mention Texas and Mexico, but today I'm talking

Coming to a restaurant, the shiny signboard attracts people's attention. "Come to Tex–Mex" is the
signboard of the restaurant. When you walk into the restaurant, the amazing decorations will rock
you a lot. The whole restaurant almost is a western town and waiters dress up as a native cowboy.
There are cow heads hang on the wall, makes people feel they are in the town. There is also a statue

Authentic Tasting Tex Mex Food
"You haven't been to Chuy's? You need to go!", the question the Minnesotan now living in the heart
of Texas heard plenty of times during the first week of moving in. Just driving down one road in
Waco, a copious amount of Tex–Mex restaurants can be seen, and I was curious about what made
Chuy's the one I needed to go to. It was obvious there was only one way to find out. Before jumping
in the car, I knew that I needed to have a variety of standards that I was looking for so I could
answer my question. In order to full compare Chuy's to the many other surrounding restaurants, I
established the following criteria: authentic tasting Tex–Mex food; friendly, yet efficient service;
and a creative, original, and fitting atmosphere.
Food is the primary reason that most people go to a restaurant, if the food is not good then there is
not much to be excited about. Many times, people interpret Tex–Mex food of having to taste exactly
like traditional Mexican food, but when I think of Tex–Mex, I believe the name speaks for itself,
and that there is a mix of two cultures on one plate. So, when assessing the taste of the food at
Chuy's, what I was most looking for was that blend of cultures. Before even arriving at Chuy's, I did
not have high hopes for the food I would soon be eating. I was convinced that Chuy's would be like
many other restaurants of its kind, with the food having a lot more Tex, then Mex. After sitting
down, the menu appeared to have a fairly authentic feel.

Tex–Mex Vs. MexicanAll over the U.S companies and restaurants have made a lot of money selling
"Mexican food." In fact, Taco Bell makes about 1.2 to 2.5 million dollars a day! Not just Taco Bell,
but many restaurants and fast food chains try to recreate the authentic tastes and flavors of Mexican
food. Tex–Mex is the American version of the food from Mexico. Although it is all over America, it
is most common in the southern states closest to the border of Mexico. Tex–Mex and authentic
Mexican food are definitely different. Although there are similarities, you can only find truly
authentic Mexican food in Mexico. Tex Mex is the imitation food of Mexican food. Tex–Mex first
spread to Texas in the 1950's when a lot of immigrants moved to the United States. Nachos were
supposedly first served at a concession at the Dallas State Fair in Texas in 1964. In 1972 a book
called "The Cuisines of Mexico," was released and made the distinction between authentic Mexican
food and Tex–Mex. Diana Kennedy (the author of the book) used the term "Tex–Mex" and made it
popular The term wasn't always used to describe the food, it used to be an abbreviation for the Texas

Power Masks In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
Different people put on a different mask depending on what "part" they are playing . Whether that
be with peers, friends, teachers or parents you change because of the surroundings. Masks make you
feel untouchable while you wear them, but when you take the mask off you feel monstrous about the
acts committed while wearing your disguise. The power masks hold cannot be explained, they can
turn the innocent into the barbaric. Masks have been worn throughout history. A good example is the
German Nazi Swastika that symbolizes World War Two. The Nazi's Swastika resembles their mask
of genocide, deception, and tragedy. They wore this on their left arm and felt domination. They did
not feel remorse for the inhumane acts they committed while hiding behind "their masks." Once the
war had completed, many Germans felt disgrace for their actions. The novel Lord of the Flies, by
William Golding was published at about the same time World War Two was occurring. Golding took
ideas from the annihilation of the war and put it into the context of his story. Some of his ideas were
inspired from the cruelty of war. William Golding was a British novelist, playwright, and poet
known for his award winning book Lord of the Flies, published in 1954. In Lord of the Flies, most
of the boys abandoned the civilized society they had always lived, and resorted to being savages.

Imagine a world without Tex–Mex foods. People would not be able to go to Taco Bell anytime of
the day, learn about the mexican culture, and america would not have its prideful cuisine. Tex–mex
is not considered mexican food but it is known as "America's first original regional cuisine"
(Alarcon). Many people believe that tex–Mex is just food that mexicans of Texas eat, but that is
untrue. People of all cultural backgrounds eat the original and delicious Tex –mex cuisine. To
experience true Tex–Mex cuisine one must visit either a restaurant run by someone of that
nationality or a home of someone of those nationalities. Many places try to copy the ways of the
cuisine but it is not as authentic as it could be.
According to Food Timeline, "The gourmet Tex–Mex "fad" began in the 1970s" ("Mexican").Tex–
Mex foods are know as a combination of many cuisines mixed together. They are known as, "a
combination of Indian and Spanish cuisines" (Graham). This combination caused the U.S. to
produce a new cuisine. Also, the influence of moroccan cooking, which consists in the usage of
cumin and garlic, soon became part of the history of Tex–Mex foods.People in the U.S. used the
word "'Tex–Mex' to describe people of Mexican descent living in Texas" (Pruitt). This means that

A Brief Note On Gore And Associates, An American...
W.L. Gore & Associates is an American manufacturing company that specializes in making products
derived from polytetrafluoroethylene, or simply PTFE. The company is best known for its Gore–Tex
fabric coating, which makes fabric waterproof and windproof, but yet breathable. The company
evolved from the late Wilbert L. Gore's experiences personally, organizationally, and technically.
Mr. Gore moved to E. I. du Pont de Nemours in 1945 where he was part of a team that worked on
the development of applications for PTFE. Wilber Gore, or Bill to his coworkers, became
knowledgeable in the development of computers and transistors. He believed that PTFE had the
ideal insulating characteristics that would make PTFE useful in such equipment. A breakthrough
happened in the basement in his house when Mr. Gore and his son Bob successfully created PTFE–
coated ribbon by using PTFE sealant tape made by 3M. Because Du Pont wanted to remain a
supplier of raw materials and not a fabricator, Bill was unsuccessful in convincing Du Pont to make
his PTFE–coated ribbon cable. On January 1, 1958, Bill and his wife Vieve founded W.L. Gore &
Associates in the basement of their house. The company took off when the Gores secured an order
for $100,000. W.L. Gore continued to grow and manufacture products made from PTFE. Bill Gore
died in 1986 while backpacking in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. Before he died, he had
become chairman and his son, Bob, president. Vieve was

My wife is my rock, she has been since the day I met her eight years ago. Our relationship has
definitely changed over the years. But she has always adapted to the change better than I have.
Growing up, I would have never guessed that I would rely on someone as much as I do with her.
What I mean is, I have always thought of myself as strong, independent, and felt as though I didn't
need to rely on anyone else. She openly recognizes me strengths, and seamlessly fills into my
weaknesses. But after eight years, it has become extremely clear that I would be lost without her.
Our marriage is not equal, I definitely take more than I give without question. More importantly, she

One of the greatest gifts my wife has given me, is inspiration. She encourages me to strive for more
daily. She does this using various platforms such as anger, humor, and sarcasm. She tells me all of
the time that I am good at everything I do. Which I know isn't true, but it still makes me feel good. I
was raised to be modest. Modesty mixed with my negativity makes me assume I will fail at
whatever it is that I am trying to do. Because of this, I tend to avoid doing anything. Sometimes I
just want to lay in bed all day. Whenever that happens, my wife is right there telling me to stop. She
tells me, "why do you do that, you know your good at everything." She doesn't just verbally inspire
me, her drive to make herself better is inspiring. She could probably talk all day about her dreams,
her ideas, and the goals she has for our family. Her dreams inspire me daily to try and do my part, to
make myself better and therefore make us better. What I mean is, just being around her makes me
want to be better, so I can keep pace with her. Finally, she inspires me with her actions. Whenever
she says she is going to do something, she does it. When I was in Afghanistan, she told me she

regrettably doubted her. She was hired by the Department of Transportation two years ago. Her

Analysis Of The Book ' American Writers '
Out of all the amazing American writers no one compares to S.E. Hinton, better known as Susan
Eloise Hinton. Early life of Ms. Hinton was no different from anyone else. Susan Hinton wrote a lot
of amazing and inspiring books; her books were also about teens. Whether you are intrigued by the
early life, works, or about her writings of S.E. Hinton you will learn that she leads a remarkable life.
Hinton was born July 22, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Will Rogers High School this is
where most of her writings were based from. While she was in high school, she started her first
draft, and also one of her books The Outsiders was published in 1967. This book was actually based
on her high school when the blue collar families which were called Greasers yet on the other side of
town were the Socs which were rich from the money in the oil in the area. The Socs wore expensive
clothes, and drove nice cars (Smith). Hinton wrote books with the narrators as males, and she did
not think boys would read her books because she was a woman writer, so she used her initials as her
pen name so readers wouldn 't know she was a woman writer. Hinton met a boy in her biology class
as a freshman, he became the inspiration of her second book ,and helped her with her writer 's block
by making her write until she got to two pages before they would go out on a date and if she didn 't
fish two pages they wouldn 't go out the day.(hinton) She did know later they would get married in

"Honey, I'm done packing the stuff!" My mom called from the car. She left the door swinging wide
open, so it was easy for me to hear her. I threw in my clothes and just about everything I owned into
my three suitcases. "What am I forgetting? I know there's something I'm missing." I muttered to
myself. Crap. All my toiletries. All of them. I raced to the bathroom and grabbed the bag barely
noticing it. "Coming!" I shouted, practically jumping down three, four steps at a time. "Oh, sweetie.
You look gorgeous." My mom cooed. I looked down at my yellow, short, summer dress with pink,
red, and, orange flowers on it. I gave her a smile. We plopped into the car seats and got all situated.
Mom started the engine, but didn't step on the pedal. Meh, probably getting ready. I looked over at
her, and saw silent streams of tears. Not this, no, no, no, no. Not this. Not now. I thought. "Mom...."
I trailed off, not wanting to hurt her. She looked at me. "What would your father think of this? If he
saw us now?" She fell to another round of torturing, painful, tears. I couldn't bear it. Yet, all I did
was plug in my earbuds and stare out the window. I thought about my father. The night we got the
news. It hit us harder than a punch in the face. The day that he died. A plane crash. Exactly one year

Snowboarding Jackets Essay
Snowboarding jackets are an essential piece of gear that should keep the rider warm, comfortable
and protected from the harsh cold when riding on the slopes. The jackets are designed with many
features and take into account different atmosphere conditions, along with the requirements of the
sport itself. When purchasing a jacket the rider needs to look at the two types of jackets, the Three–
Layer System, the features of the jacket, and a few different technological fabrics. All of these
aspects are important when searching for the perfect snowboarding jacket. The first step in
purchasing a snowboarding jacket is determining what kind. There are two types, cold–weather
jackets and warm–weather jackets. Whether a rider is shredding ... Show more content on

There are three functions for this layer, which include waterproof, windproof, and breathability. To
be considered waterproof, a piece of clothing has to "bear a water column of 4 to 5 ft" (1).
Snowboarding jackets must also have taped seams, prevent water penetration, and covered zippers.
The next function in the system is windproof. The windproof of a jacket is very important. Not only
can the lack of this make the rider uncomfortable, but it can also affect the breathability quality of
the outer layer. The breathability quality allows riders to ventilate their body through the fabric on
the jacket and pushes perspiration away. While the Three–Layer System is important and needed in
every jacket, so are the features that a snowboarding jacket can acquire. Features in snowboarding
jackets can be a very handy necessity with some snowboarders, but may not be to others depending
on skill level. Some of these features include; powder skirts, wrist gaiters, venting zips, hoods,
shells, pockets, and taped seams. Of all features, the powder skirt is the most useful. This feature
prevents snow from coming up into the jacket if a wipeout occurs. Similar to the powder skirt are
wrist gaiters, which prevent snow from going up the sleeves or into the rider's gloves. Venting zips
located under the armpit are definitely a necessity in a snowboarding jacket for those warmer days
on the slopes. The vents are constructed

Analysis Of Disney Cartoons From Disney
I watched all of THE BOOZE HANGS HIGH, RED HOT RIDING HOOD, MONKEY DOODLE,
FAST AND FURRY–OUS, and AN OPTICAL POEM. These animations were very different from
the likes of Disney. I noticed that almost all of these animations were meant for adults definitely not
children. I also realized that the animation styles were different from Disney. Pigs drinking booze,
Red Riding Hood as a burlesque singer, lustful monkeys looking at naked female monkeys with
proper human anatomy, Road Runner being blown to smithereens by Coyote. Just think about all the
scenes I just described. Would you want your children being exposed to these things? I believe most
commendable parents even nowadays would say HELL NO!! I was baffled and surprised at how
cartoons of this time were not meant for kids. This seemed so backward to me, growing up watching
LOONEY TOONS as a kids show. I think that cartoons started this way due to the people who were
going out to the movies and watching these cartoons were adults. Adults don't want to watch
cartoons that appeal to children when they are on a date or trying to get time away from their kids.
In contrast, from Disney, the competition saw an untouched market. Disney quickly began to focus
their cartoons toward children. The competition, on the other hand, marketed to a more mature
audience. Making studios like Warner Brothers have a lucrative stake in the animation business. The
hilarity of it is that these days THE LOONEY TOONS cartoons are kid friendly they won't even
show the episode where Elmer Fud kills Bugs Bunny. The fact that the competitor's studios decided
to aim for a more mature audience shows me two things. The first is the studios did not believe they
could compete head to head with Disney. Lastly, it shows that the studios were not scared to create
cartoons that were lewd. In essence, the competing studios handled their published animations in a
business–minded way. They decided not to compete head–on with Disney but to offset themselves
from Disney's audience and reach the audience that made and held the money. In PLANE CRAZY
no background is the same. In MONKEY DOODLE and FAST AND FURRY–OUS, we observe the
same background scene used more than once in a scene that

Comparing The United States And Switzerland
Trying to compare the United States to Switzerland is quite difficult, especially when there are many
differences between the states of America. So the easiest is to compare the general aspects across the
board, and for the smaller differences I can only compare it with Texas, since I have lived there my
whole life. The first major difference is the food, of course the food is different all across Europe
compared to the United States, just because we have different types of food. In America we like to
imitate other countries food, trying to bring different cuisines to everyone 's diet. For example;
Italian, Greek, Chinese, Asian, and many other different cuisines. Swiss food you rarely see in
America, like the fondue, that is something America has put a twist on, trying to imitate that certain
dish. Roclette has just now been introduced to America, and it's one of the bigger hits now, but it is
nice to know we have had it in Switzerland from where it is originally from. Another difference in
food, is that nothing in Switzerland is processed, no preservatives, no high fructose corn syrup, and
no dyes. Another thing that is different with the foods, is having freshly produced chocolate that is
out of this world. It is a disappointment to go back to America and crave chocolate to only have the
options of either getting Hershey 's, which will not taste as good or as smooth, or find European
chocolate for more than $5. But not all of American food is bad, we are known for

This was a non– religious cult but had some beliefs within scientology and satanism. Charles
Manson believed that there was to be a race war in America in the near future and that the African
Americans would win, but then look to the Whites for guidance. This then lead Manson and his one
hundred plus followers, mostly young women, to attempt to instigate this war so that they could be
prepared and hide away until the African Americans won, and then the "family" would be the ones
the African Americans would turn to for leadership (The 10 Most Famous Cults, 2017).

Charles Manson is a well–known American criminal and musician. Although he was best known as
a cult leader who inspired the killings of eight people between July and August of 1969, he had a
long criminal record dating back to 1948 (Internet Accuracy Project, 2012). Charles Milles Manson
was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Kathleen Maddox, a 16–year–old girl who
was allegedly both an alcoholic and prostitute. According to Manson and Emmons (1986), his
biological father was a transient worker who called himself Colonel Scott, whom he met only once
or twice and does not remember. It wasn't until his mother's marriage to his step–father William

Manson started in a world where the chances that his basic physiological needs where most likely

he spent the majority of his youth being shuffled from home to home and then in detention. He
attempted to meet belongingness and love through a family made up strangers. The upper levels
would be difficult to achieve without first fulfilling the lower levels. Rogerian theory focuses on
coming to terms with our own reality and not trying to be someone whom we are not and in some
ways, it seems like Manson has come to terms with who he is, and yet, he is also living up to the
expectation of being nothing set for him by others. The disadvantage of this theory is that he has
such notoriety, it would be difficult for him to find a therapist who could refrain from being bias one
way or the other; further, he would have to trust and be honest and give an honest view, which,
given his mental health, might be skewed even if he is being honest in his mind. The assessment
tool best suited for Manson would be interview. Although the patient is capable of lying, the validity
of the interview can be proven through the success or failure of the treatment (Friedman &
Schustack, 2012). The reason I would choose this method is that just as with this method, Manson

There is something in some parts of the world (mainly the U.S.) that is very popular. The thing that I
am referring to is Taco Bell, well at least from what I have seen it is pretty popular in the U.S.
Although one thing I have to say about it is If you think you are going into Taco Bell expecting
Genuine, Authentic Mexican food, well in that case you will be severely disappointed. The thing
that makes Taco Bell food different from legitimate Mexican food is the fact that for the most part it
isn't even actually Mexican Food (to an extent). The reason why is because Taco Bell is actually a
sort of "Hybrid Food" because it is actually Tex–Mex (A hybrid of Texan and Mexican food).
Although they don't sound very different they really are, and there are many reasons why. There is
even various histories behind both types of food.Even if they sound similar they are not the same by
a long shot. There are many differences between the two but at the same time there are many
similarities, but for now I am going to talk about the differences. One difference I can think of for
Tex–mex and Mexican food is that Mexican food is actually authentic and Tex–Mex is not as
genuine as actual Mexican food. Another reason in Tex–Mex food they don't use the same food and
that they use different types such as the fact that they use "Texas Exclusive" and what I mean by that
is that they use stuff like beef and wheat flour which they don't have in Mexico. Although there

Theme Of Friendship In The Outsiders
A Story About Friendship, Courage, and Empathy "The functions of intellect are insufficient and
useless if you are without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy," says a quote by
Dean Koontz. Throughout S.E. Hinton's book The Outsiders, there are many themes that she
conveys in the book as she narrates the experiences of a greaser named Ponyboy who is a member
of the Social group (Socs). Ponyboy meets many people and witnesses many difficult situations
throughout the book. This inspirational book teaches the reader crucial lessons that are very
important for everyone, even if their lives are not anything like Ponyboy's. Three important themes
in the book include friendship, courage and empathy. Friendship is mandatory to be able to trust and
rely on one another. Hinton writes about troubles that Ponyboy goes through and how his friends
have a great impact on these experiences. For example, Johnny killed Bob who was a member of the
Socs, because he saw that Bob along with other Socs were trying to drown Ponyboy. He knew that
he'd be in trouble, and he could have just left then and there. Instead, he killed Bob because they
were hurting Ponyboy. Another situation where the author shows the theme of friendship is when
Ponyboy got jumped and his whole gang came to help him. They were always ready to help a
member of their group. Also, the situation when the church was on fire and Dally went to try and
save Johnny, shows friendship as well. In chapter 6, Jerry, who Ponyboy thinks is one of the school's
teachers, says, "We think the towheaded kid is going to be all right. He burned one arm pretty badly,
though, trying to drag the other kid out of the window," (pg. 95). This tells us that Dally, who at first
wouldn't help the children in the church, helped Johnny get out because he was his friend and he
cared about him. This shows how Dally demonstrates his friendship. Courage is crucial to be able to
overcome obstacles and help others. Courage is a big theme in The Outsiders. For example,
Ponyboy showed a lot of courage when he decided to fight in the rumble. He wasn't in good shape
as he had lost weight and was very tense. However, he fought in the rumble regardless to show his
gang that he

In order to hold their place as the dominant seller in their favored industries, W. L. Gore &

Persuasive Speech About Cheerleading
Cheerleading is a very competitive sport and takes a lot of effort. There are several types of
cheerleading that a person can participate in. Unlike most sports, cheerleading is not just limited to
male or females. Both can participate separately or together. In addition, cheerleading can be a
recreational sport for some, provide an education, or even be done as a full–time job. Cheerleading
is also offered at all age levels. Children as young as 2 can participate in competitive cheer. This
paper will not only persuade you that cheerleading is the best sport, but also persuade you that the
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are the best cheerleading team in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboy
Cheerleaders (also known as the DCC) is the best cheerleading team in the NFL because more than
500 women come to tryout each year, their ages range from 18–40 years and you have to try out
each year to maintain your spot on the team. One of the reasons that the DCC are so good is that
more than 500 girls tryout. On the first day of tryouts in May, more than 500 women from all over
the world, such as: New York, Miami, Australia, and Japan show up to audition. They arrive at the
AT&T Stadium all hoping to become the next member of the DCC. Jerry Jones' daughter, Charlotte
Anderson, has been in charge of the tryouts since 1989 when her family bought the team and is very
active in the selection of the team. Most cheerleaders have full–time jobs in addition to their
cheerleading responsibilities. They definitely do not do this for the amount of money that they
make. They are responsible for rehearsals, calendar shoots, guest appearances, or whatever the
organization may require. Out of the more than 500 women who tryout, only 36–39 will be put on
the final roster for the season. Another reason why the DCC are so good is upon arrival at the AT&T
Stadium the women are introduced to the team Kelli McGonagill Finglass and the choreographer
Judy Trammel, who were both cheerleaders for the DCC in the 1980's. The women auditioning are
put under great scrutiny in order to qualify to make the team. They conduct background checks,

Tex–Mex food is fusion on American and Mexican food. This type of food is very popular,
especially in the United States. Authentic Mexican food started in Mexico. The word Tex–Mex was
used to describe Mexican descendants living in Texas, also known as Tejanos. As more and more
people settled in Texas, the popularity of Mexican food grew and grew. People started attempting to
make it themselves in their own kitchens, using Texan ingredients like beef and wheat flour. Beef
and wheat flour are two things not common in Mexico. Mexican restaurants in Texas started to use
more gringo elements into their dishes, like ground beef in enchiladas. This resulted in a new
invention, a delicious invention, of Tex–Mex food. Traditional Mexican food use plenty ... Show

Another authentic Mexican food restaurant is Lindo Mexico. Lindo Mexico is a casual restaurant
featuring colorful Mexican themed murals, traditional Mexican food and a full bar. There are many
restaurants here that serve Tex–Mex food. Taco Bell is one of them. It is a fast food chain serving
Mexican inspired fare such as tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. Another Tex–Mex restaurant is Chili's
Grill and Bar. Chili's is family–friendly chain serving classic Tex–Mex and American fare in a
southwestern style setting. Tex–Mex and authentic Mexican food may be very different but they are
still the same type of foods. Food brings people together. Here food definitely did bring people
together. Without the Mexicans and the Texans, we might not have the food that we love so much
today. This style of food and this fusion between two different cuisines have become something that
we consume almost daily. Queso dip, chimichangas, the enchilada have been Americanized. But we
cannot say that it's not

Charlie Manson Research Paper

  • 1. Charlie Manson Research Paper Charlie Manson, as a child, lived a broken life. His mother did not want anything to do with him. She was a prostitute and an alcoholic that tried to escape Charlie by throwing him in schools and tossing him on the street. He ended up getting put behind bars for a great fraction of his life. He never really ended up having a childhood. All it consisted of was hate and refusal. This taught him wrong and put him in a state of psychic trauma which craved love and attention. This attention he got was from negative doing, such as stealing a car and going to jail. A cult is a group of people with similar interests, and lead usually by a trusted leader. This leader will have to convince others into believing or provide a place where they can worship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I can believe you can persuade someone to believe completely in what one wants. I think the person has to be weak and easily fall from pressure. These are the factors to create a perfect person to bring into a cul. You have them believe you entirely, and then have them do your dirty work. I do not think anyone can find this kind of person and change their way of life, but a strong and intelligent mind that can manipulate well. These people believed him, because they may have gone through similar things through life. He gave them what they were looking for, rather it be food, comfort, or sex. These are something the weak and vulnerable people didn't have while growing up like Charles, but he understood and knew how to control that. There were a lot of kids dropping out of education and avoiding being drafted in the war that they ended up living in the streets. The majority were drug users and abusers that have a messed up life. Along comes an ex–con who dabbled with satanism, the process, early scientology, and worked his ability to mirror what the kids wanted to hear, Hungry for a charismatic figure they glum onto him in the hopes of a better existence. This lead Charles Manson to be a leader of a cult of who would do anything and everything for him. He led people to believe he was the returned Jesus Christ, and told others he was Satan in body form. This convinced confused Christians and other to believe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Sexualization Of Advertising : The Objectification Of... Objectification of women is on the rise in society today. The underlying message is that women are living in a sexually gratified atmosphere. From advertisements to television and magazines etc. Woman are exploited as sexual objects while men believe depicting images of women in a sexual manner is funny or sexy but why not offensive or degrading? Therefore, advertisements influence the core of the sexualization of culture. The Carl's Jr Tex Mex Bacon Thickburger Commercial shown on television is a clear example of how women are objectified in advertising. The ad is to promote the idea of the new TexMex thickburger but how you may ask? It includes two models representing Mexico and the other United States. Both women are in tight fitted cheeky bikinis competing over whether the fast food is "Tex" or "Mex" playing volleyball. The idea of the commercial was made to appeal to men in seeking an attraction from the target audience using women in a sexual aesthetic. As both men are watching from the bleachers they are sure enjoying the women compete on who is right. "Should we tell them it's both?" a man watching the game adds before his friend is quick to answer "eventually", this bodily language emphasizes that both men already know it's both Tex and Mex combined but want to watch the women as they are jumping around playing dirty in such bikinis. The ad has created a way to lure men to purchase a specific brand of burger using women's body. Generally, it's a win win situation because advertisements affect cultural ideas and what people desire, the influence of individuals is overlooked more than the actual persuading of buying the product. In "Can't Buy My Love" and Killing Us Softly by Jean Kilbourne she relates society as a passive mirror where advertisements develop an effective pervasive medium of influence because as people consume ads they see they will eventually base it off themselves personally. With ad's constantly lingering, our mind is presented to subconsciously process the ad and the sexual appearances. Therefore, by showing these attractive women as a highlight, it advertises the objective of women in making you crave this specific burger. In other words, advertising is something that is so engraved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. No Parole : Should Not Be Granted Parole? Monika Doughty Ms.Yocum Foundation of English 5 January 2016 No parole Would you kill for love or to feel loved by a convict? Well Patricia Krenwinkel did. Patricia should not be granted parole because she knew right from wrong. That night when Manson picked her for the murders she was excited, She knew she was going to kill. "This is a crime children grow up hearing about," said parole commissioner Susan Melanson.(Killer Cult) All her decisions to kill for Manson was all on her. No one in this world could make me or probably anyone in this world with common sense to do such harsh things to another human being. On top of that She ate food out of the fridge of her victims home. She wanted to start a race war along with "The Family". When patricia went to court after her murders she acted as if she did nothing wrong, as if she knew nothing of the murders. She killed one night and seen it on the news and had no remorse, and then she went and killed the next night (Killer Cult). How can you Take the main part in 7 murders in two nights and not apologizes to any of the victim 's families or show remorse? Patricia doesn't care about the safety of others, she sees us humans as objects and that 's a problem because that makes us a easy target when she angry or upset. To patricia were a tissue she whips her nose with and then throw's away. (Press, The Associated) Patricia is a threat to society. • 4. The Crystal Frontier By Carlos Fuentes In The Crystal Frontier, Carlos Fuentes presents two of his main characters in much a similar fashion; in Spoils, we find Dionisio is a world–renowned chef and cuisine connoisseur, and also a fervent critic of American cuisine and culture. Dionisio believes that through his country's chromosomal imperialism, Mexico will be able to solidify its sphere of influence in America; however, when he travels to the United States, he indulges in the same institutions that he ridicules when he lives in Mexico. Similarly, in Pain we encounter the young and aspiring doctor, Juan Zamora. Zamora is an ambitious student who travels to the United States to further his education and learns that successful networking is the way to get ahead in American society. Zamora and Dionisio are both functions of their environment. When they are living in America, they are exhibiting an innate interconnectedness with society, and when they live in Mexico–quite the opposite; Zamora and Dionisio display traditional attributes which are stereotypical to that of the Mexican who lives in solitude. This essay will seek to dissect each character and describe how each utilizes his own respective "Mexican Mask" to acquire what he truly desires, and it will describe how each character's personality fluctuates simply due to where he is geographically located. Dionisio believes that through Mexico's "chromosomal imperialism" his country will endure and even spread its cultural influence in the United States ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Informative Essay: The Manson Trial The Manson trial began in June of 1970. The jury in this case was locked up for the entire trial to protect the jury from the publicity and the harassment they would face from the public. Five women and seven men were selected to be on the jury with ages spanning from twenty–five to seventy– three. One of the jury members was a retired deputy sheriff. The prosecutor of this case was Vincent Bugliosi. Bugliosi's opening statement described Manson a man "Who would refer to himself as Jesus Christ", he "was a killer who cleverly masqueraded behind the common image of a hippie that of being peace loving." Manson's defense made sure that The Family were well connected. They did this by having Manson communicate with his followers outside to talk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To this day, Manson receives mail in prison from young people wanting to join the family, and gets more mail than any other convict in the american prison system. Manson still remains relevant in our culture, with movies, documentaries, plays, and operas written about him. The popular rock band Guns 'n' Roses has also performed many of his songs. The reason Manson remains so relevant is because of the high profile victims he planned, including many celebrities and even President Ford. In the minds of the average american alive at the time, Manson has become a metaphor for pure evil, equivocal to the devil himself. Today, almost every extremist and hate mongering group in america, from the clan to the neo–nazis, have embraced Manson's philosophy and hailed him as a saint. While in prison, Manson has been charged with almost every conceivable crime, from treason to marijuana possession. Manson has refused to attend his last two parole hearings after the board informed him that he would not be allowed to attend without handcuffs. The majority of the Mason family is still in prison on a list of charges that seemingly goes on forever. There are a few who have either served their sentences or have earned parole, and continue actively advertising and serving the family. The tactics have changed but the message is still the same, web pages and blogs have been put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Tex Mex Food Research Paper Page 1 of 2 ZOOM Spencer GayheartAuthentic Mexican food and Tex–Mex foods are just different types of Mexican foods. Many of the so–called Mexican foods we love like hard shell tacos, burritos, and nachos are all Tex–Mex foods. Tex–Mex is the abbreviation for Texas–Mexican foods. Many Mexican heritage people think Tex–Mex food is fake and not as good as real, traditional Mexican food. Most Americans are more likely to mention Chipotle and Taco Bell when they think of "Mexican" dishes.Tex–Mex cuisine became popular for the first time in San Antonio, Texas in the 1880s. "Tex– Mex" is a combination of Mexican and American recipes, created by individuals called the Tejanos. Tejanos are people who live in Texas, but had decedents that originally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another difference is Tex–Mex foods such as burritos, nachos, puffy and breakfast tacos, etc. are not eaten or made by authentic Mexican families. The third difference is authentic Mexican food tastes different than Tex–Mex cuisine because Mexican food tends to have more home grown ingredients compared to store bought, which causes Mexican food to be fresher and have more flavor. There are many geographic regions in which authentic Mexican food can be found. They include The Bajio, The North, North Pacific Coast, South Pacific Coast, The South, The Gulf, and Central Mexico. The geographic region in which Tex–Mex cuisine can be found, is in the South Central region of the United States and Central Canada. Restaurants that serve Tex–Mex food are Chuy's, Roscoe's Tacos, On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina, and Chili's Grill and Bar. A commonly asked question from the restaurant Roscoe's Tacos is "Does this place serve enchiladas?" and the answer is "No!" because it is not on the menu at a Tex–Mex diner. Another commonly asked question from Chuy's is " Does this restaurant have a drive–through?" and the answer is "No!" because they are a sit–down restaurant where food is prepared ... • 7. Charles Manson Research Paper Infamous cult leader and convicted killer of the 60s Charles Manson died in prison at the age of 83 this Sunday. Manson was known for his involvement in the killings of at least seven people in California in 1969. This included 8–month–pregnant actress, Sharon Tate. It was found in the trial that he told his "family" what to do and where, and they carried out his commands. The plan behind the killings was to start a race war, hoping the killings would be seen a something done by black people. "If you're going to do something, do it well. And leave something witchy," Manson said in an interview with Diane Sawyer. There were two killings sites, one with Tate and her friends, the other a married couple, both had things written on the walls in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 60s were a point when it was normal for teens and young adults to leave home and start their lives elsewhere, whether or not it was with the hippie movement. It was also when there was a good amount of civil rights activities were going on and the Black Panthers came on the scene. It was revealed in a book about Manson that his plan he thought their was going to be a war between balock and white people. He wanted to start this war with the killings, hoping people would think black people, or a civil rights group, had committed the murders. In Manson's mind this would have started the war, which he called Helter Skelter after the Beatles song. Manson's life would most likely have gone differently if he had a different childhood. He grew up with his aunt and uncle for most of his young childhood, because his father left and his mother was in jail for a number of years. When she got out and he went to live with her, she didn't want him and tried to get him put in foster homes and the like. When he was sent away to a school for boys, he ran away to find her again. • 10. Can Teflon Cause Cancer? : Facts & Myths Essay examples For some years now there has been quite a bit of controversy as to whether the non–stick Teflon coating on pots and pans is actually harmful to humans. However, more recent there has even been rumor that this marvelous invention that every kitchen maid loves, may actually cause cancer. So how much of this is fact, and how much is just myth? First of all, it may be prudent to explain exactly what Teflon is. Teflon, is the registered trademark of a man–made chemical known as polytetrafluorothylene (PTFE), and has been in commercial use since the mid–1940s. As far as man–made chemicals go, Teflon is an extremely resilient, almost frictionless, non–stick surface that is not only used within the cook–wear industry, but also the fabric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well, when for example a Teflon coated pan is heated to 500 degrees of more, a certain amount of PFOA that remains in the surface coating gets released into the air via the smoke and gasses, and inhaled. Although, to reach a degree of 500 or more would usually be when the pan gets forgotten and left on the hot plate to overheat. If most American have a low level of PFOA in their blood, it cannot be harmful! This depends, as lab studies on animals have found that exposure to PFOA does actually increase the risk of tumors of the liver, mammary glands, pancreas, and testicles. Although, there is still no certainty as to how PFOA actually causes these tumors, and if the chemical would actually react in the same way in the human body. However, studies that have taken place on humans, as of this moment only show that where over exposure to the chemical (usually only in the workplace) has occurred, a higher risk of bladder, kidney, and testicular cancer have been found. So where does this leave the household user of Teflon? It would probably be wise to say, that in normal use, Teflon is quite safe to use, and the risks of developing cancer through its use would be quite remote. However, this being said and done, careless use of the product would almost certainly raise a degree of concern as to the possibility of this remoteness becoming certain danger.

We moved here because my parents wanted to give me and my siblings a better education and improve our standard of living. When my parent gave us the news, the first thing I felt was fear, I was afraid because I did not where we were going and what to expect about the new place that we would call our home. I had to leave the place I grew up, my family, and my friends behind, and I felt that I was not ready for that big change. I remember the first day I came to the United States with my family and at the beginning it was a struggle to adapt to a new language, to a new culture. Mexico differs from the United States when it comes to language. When I got here I entered the 9th grade and the first issue I encounter was the language barrier. When I was in Mexico I studied English but it was just basic words, and I could barely make a sentence. The first school year was very difficult for me because I was not confident with my English and this was an obstacle that prevented me from making friends. The way I was able to improve my English was to record the lectures and go back and listen to them after school, I used to copy every word from the board and once I was home I looked up every word until those words make sense to me, and finally I used to watch shows and movies with subtitles to be able to understand. It was obvious there was only one way to find out. Before jumping in the car, I knew that I needed to have a variety of standards that I was looking for so I could answer my question. In order to full compare Chuy's to the many other surrounding restaurants, I established the following criteria: authentic tasting Tex–Mex food; friendly, yet efficient service; and a creative, original, and fitting atmosphere. Food is the primary reason that most people go to a restaurant, if the food is not good then there is not much to be excited about. Many times, people interpret Tex–Mex food of having to taste exactly like traditional Mexican food, but when I think of Tex–Mex, I believe the name speaks for itself, and that there is a mix of two cultures on one plate. So, when assessing the taste of the food at Chuy's, what I was most looking for was that blend of cultures. Before even arriving at Chuy's, I did not have high hopes for the food I would soon be eating. I was convinced that Chuy's would be like many other restaurants of its kind, with the food having a lot more Tex, then Mex. After sitting down, the menu appeared to have a fairly authentic feel. ... Whether that be with peers, friends, teachers or parents you change because of the surroundings. Masks make you feel untouchable while you wear them, but when you take the mask off you feel monstrous about the acts committed while wearing your disguise. The power masks hold cannot be explained, they can turn the innocent into the barbaric. Masks have been worn throughout history. A good example is the German Nazi Swastika that symbolizes World War Two. The Nazi's Swastika resembles their mask of genocide, deception, and tragedy. They wore this on their left arm and felt domination. They did not feel remorse for the inhumane acts they committed while hiding behind "their masks." Once the war had completed, many Germans felt disgrace for their actions. The novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding was published at about the same time World War Two was occurring. Golding took ideas from the annihilation of the war and put it into the context of his story. Some of his ideas were inspired from the cruelty of war. Not only can the lack of this make the rider uncomfortable, but it can also affect the breathability quality of the outer layer. The breathability quality allows riders to ventilate their body through the fabric on the jacket and pushes perspiration away. While the Three–Layer System is important and needed in every jacket, so are the features that a snowboarding jacket can acquire. These animations were very different from the likes of Disney. I noticed that almost all of these animations were meant for adults definitely not children. I also realized that the animation styles were different from Disney. Pigs drinking booze, Red Riding Hood as a burlesque singer, lustful monkeys looking at naked female monkeys with proper human anatomy, Road Runner being blown to smithereens by Coyote. Just think about all the scenes I just described. Would you want your children being exposed to these things? I believe most commendable parents even nowadays would say HELL NO!! I was baffled and surprised at how cartoons of this time were not meant for kids. This seemed so backward to me, growing up watching LOONEY TOONS as a kids show. I think that cartoons started this way due to the people who were going out to the movies and watching these cartoons were adults. Adults don't want to watch cartoons that appeal to children when they are on a date or trying to get time away from their kids. In contrast, from Disney, the competition saw an untouched market. Disney quickly began to focus their cartoons toward children. The competition, on the other hand, marketed to a more mature audience. Making studios like Warner Brothers have a lucrative stake in the animation business. The hilarity of it is that these days THE LOONEY TOONS cartoons are kid friendly they won't even show the episode where Elmer Fud kills Bugs Bunny. The fact that the competitor's studios decided to aim for a more mature audience shows me two things. The first is the studios did not believe they could compete head to head with Disney. Lastly, it shows that the studios were not scared to create cartoons that were lewd. In essence, the competing studios handled their published animations in a business–minded way. They decided not to compete head–on with Disney but to offset themselves from Disney's audience and reach the audience that made and held the money. In PLANE CRAZY no background is the same. So the easiest is to compare the general aspects across the board, and for the smaller differences I can only compare it with Texas, since I have lived there my whole life. The first major difference is the food, of course the food is different all across Europe compared to the United States, just because we have different types of food. In America we like to imitate other countries food, trying to bring different cuisines to everyone 's diet. For example; Italian, Greek, Chinese, Asian, and many other different cuisines. Swiss food you rarely see in America, like the fondue, that is something America has put a twist on, trying to imitate that certain dish. Roclette has just now been introduced to America, and it's one of the bigger hits now, but it is nice to know we have had it in Switzerland from where it is originally from. Another difference in food, is that nothing in Switzerland is processed, no preservatives, no high fructose corn syrup, and no dyes. Another thing that is different with the foods, is having freshly produced chocolate that is out of this world. It is a disappointment to go back to America and crave chocolate to only have the options of either getting Hershey 's, which will not taste as good or as smooth, or find European chocolate for more than $5. But not all of American food is bad, we are known for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research Paper On Charles Manson Family Cult Charles Manson, who died on November 19, 2017 aged 83, was the leader of the Manson Family cult, located in Los Angeles, California in the late 1960's. This was a non– religious cult but had some beliefs within scientology and satanism. Charles Manson believed that there was to be a race war in America in the near future and that the African Americans would win, but then look to the Whites for guidance. This then lead Manson and his one hundred plus followers, mostly young women, to attempt to instigate this war so that they could be prepared and hide away until the African Americans won, and then the "family" would be the ones the African Americans would turn to for leadership (The 10 Most Famous Cults, 2017). ... Gabie doesn't own a gun or ever fired a gun before, but thought it was very loud and differently didn't sound like fireworks. • 32. Charles Manson Research Paper Charles Manson is a well–known American criminal and musician. Although he was best known as a cult leader who inspired the killings of eight people between July and August of 1969, he had a long criminal record dating back to 1948 (Internet Accuracy Project, 2012). Charles Milles Manson was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Kathleen Maddox, a 16–year–old girl who was allegedly both an alcoholic and prostitute. According to Manson and Emmons (1986), his biological father was a transient worker who called himself Colonel Scott, whom he met only once or twice and does not remember. It wasn't until his mother's marriage to his step–father William Manson, that he became Charles Milles Manson (Manson & Emmons, 1986). His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Manson started in a world where the chances that his basic physiological needs where most likely not being consistently met in the area of food and shelter. The area of safety is also questionable as he spent the majority of his youth being shuffled from home to home and then in detention. He attempted to meet belongingness and love through a family made up strangers. The upper levels would be difficult to achieve without first fulfilling the lower levels. Rogerian theory focuses on coming to terms with our own reality and not trying to be someone whom we are not and in some ways, it seems like Manson has come to terms with who he is, and yet, he is also living up to the expectation of being nothing set for him by others. The disadvantage of this theory is that he has such notoriety, it would be difficult for him to find a therapist who could refrain from being bias one way or the other; further, he would have to trust and be honest and give an honest view, which, given his mental health, might be skewed even if he is being honest in his mind. The assessment tool best suited for Manson would be interview. Although the patient is capable of lying, the validity of the interview can be proven through the success or failure of the treatment (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). The reason I would choose this method is that just as with this method, Manson ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Family consisted mainly of Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkel, Charles "Tex" Watson, Bobby Beausoleil, Mary Brunner, and Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme. Manson's motive to begin killing all started when he had told the family "Helter Skelter" was coming, Helter Skelter was the uprising of a racial war between the blacks and the whites. Manson would facilitate this war by killing the whites and implicating the African–American community with various acts. (crimemuseum.org) Charles Manson's first killing involved Gary Hinman, he was a very close friend of Charles Manson and allowed Manson and members of the family to stay at his house instead of staying at the Spahn Ranch. During this time Manson was having trouble with money with a guy named Crowe. Manson shot Crowe under the impression that he was part of the Blank Panthers, however Crowe did not die from the shot and Manson feared revenge and left. (law2.umkc.edu) Manson was in desperate need of money and soon later heard from a family member that Gary Hinman had gotten money from an inheritance. • 34. Differences Between Tex Mex And Mexican Food Page 1 of 3 ZOOM There is something in some parts of the world (mainly the U.S.) that is very popular. The thing that I am referring to is Taco Bell, well at least from what I have seen it is pretty popular in the U.S. Although one thing I have to say about it is If you think you are going into Taco Bell expecting Genuine, Authentic Mexican food, well in that case you will be severely disappointed. The thing that makes Taco Bell food different from legitimate Mexican food is the fact that for the most part it isn't even actually Mexican Food (to an extent). The reason why is because Taco Bell is actually a sort of "Hybrid Food" because it is actually Tex–Mex (A hybrid of Texan and Mexican food). Although they don't sound very different they really are, and there are many reasons why. There is even various histories behind both types of food.Even if they sound similar they are not the same by a long shot. There are many differences between the two but at the same time there are many similarities, but for now I am going to talk about the differences. One difference I can think of for Tex–mex and Mexican food is that Mexican food is actually authentic and Tex–Mex is not as genuine as actual Mexican food. Another reason in Tex–Mex food they don't use the same food and that they use different types such as the fact that they use "Texas Exclusive" and what I mean by that is that they use stuff like beef and wheat flour which they don't have in Mexico. • 35. Theme Of Friendship In The Outsiders A Story About Friendship, Courage, and Empathy "The functions of intellect are insufficient and useless if you are without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy," says a quote by Dean Koontz. Throughout S.E. Hinton's book The Outsiders, there are many themes that she conveys in the book as she narrates the experiences of a greaser named Ponyboy who is a member of the Social group (Socs). Ponyboy meets many people and witnesses many difficult situations throughout the book. This inspirational book teaches the reader crucial lessons that are very important for everyone, even if their lives are not anything like Ponyboy's. Three important themes in the book include friendship, courage and empathy. Friendship is mandatory to be able to trust and rely on one another. Hinton writes about troubles that Ponyboy goes through and how his friends have a great impact on these experiences. For example, Johnny killed Bob who was a member of the Socs, because he saw that Bob along with other Socs were trying to drown Ponyboy. He knew that he'd be in trouble, and he could have just left then and there. Instead, he killed Bob because they were hurting Ponyboy. Another situation where the author shows the theme of friendship is when Ponyboy got jumped and his whole gang came to help him. They were always ready to help a member of their group. Also, the situation when the church was on fire and Dally went to try and save Johnny, shows friendship as well. In chapter 6, Jerry, who Ponyboy thinks is one of the school's teachers, says, "We think the towheaded kid is going to be all right. He burned one arm pretty badly, though, trying to drag the other kid out of the window," (pg. 95). This tells us that Dally, who at first wouldn't help the children in the church, helped Johnny get out because he was his friend and he cared about him. This shows how Dally demonstrates his friendship. Courage is crucial to be able to overcome obstacles and help others. Courage is a big theme in The Outsiders. For example, Ponyboy showed a lot of courage when he decided to fight in the rumble. He wasn't in good shape as he had lost weight and was very tense. However, he fought in the rumble regardless to show his gang that he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If they were to pursue the first route, it may be to their advantage to expand their research and development departments, as well as reorganize the way they market their products. On the other hand, if W. L. Gore & Associates felt that the more prudent course of action would be to become the most competitively priced provider, the company would need to seek out and reduce superfluous costs more efficiently. Throughout the history of the company, W. L. Gore & Associates has always worked as a single living and constantly adapting unit. It seemed to most that this era, filled with the ideals of hippies and psychedelic media, would never end. However, the era seemed to come to an abrupt halt on the night of August 9th, when five innocent people were horribly slain, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate. These murders would be followed by another set, the following night. This time it would be Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, wealthy grocery chain owners. Though the murders were at first unsolved, Charles Manson and four women, who were a part of his cult–like "family," were accused, in December of that year, and put on trial for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This movie follows the entire Tate–LaBianca case from the discovery of the first murder, to the day that Manson and his followers were declared guilty. The movie follows the case with an omniscient point of view, mainly focusing on the point of view of the leading prosecutor, Vincent Bugliosi. Occasionally, the viewer receives information Bugliosi does not have, by switching to the viewpoint of a Family member. The film accurately displays most historical facts, including an in depth explanation of what Charlie led the Family to believe; killing was a form of love, because they were simply setting a soul free, and that Charlie was Jesus in the flesh. The amount of violence in the movie is not depicted as it was in real life. This is because showing true–to–life, graphic images of the murders was not appropriate for television at that time. • 39. Persuasive Speech About Cheerleading Cheerleading is a very competitive sport and takes a lot of effort. There are several types of cheerleading that a person can participate in. Unlike most sports, cheerleading is not just limited to male or females. Both can participate separately or together. In addition, cheerleading can be a recreational sport for some, provide an education, or even be done as a full–time job. Cheerleading is also offered at all age levels. Children as young as 2 can participate in competitive cheer. This paper will not only persuade you that cheerleading is the best sport, but also persuade you that the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are the best cheerleading team in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders (also known as the DCC) is the best cheerleading team in the NFL because more than 500 women come to tryout each year, their ages range from 18–40 years and you have to try out each year to maintain your spot on the team. One of the reasons that the DCC are so good is that more than 500 girls tryout. On the first day of tryouts in May, more than 500 women from all over the world, such as: New York, Miami, Australia, and Japan show up to audition. They arrive at the AT&T Stadium all hoping to become the next member of the DCC. Jerry Jones' daughter, Charlotte Anderson, has been in charge of the tryouts since 1989 when her family bought the team and is very active in the selection of the team. Most cheerleaders have full–time jobs in addition to their cheerleading responsibilities. They definitely do not do this for the amount of money that they make. They are responsible for rehearsals, calendar shoots, guest appearances, or whatever the organization may require. Out of the more than 500 women who tryout, only 36–39 will be put on the final roster for the season. Another reason why the DCC are so good is upon arrival at the AT&T Stadium the women are introduced to the team Kelli McGonagill Finglass and the choreographer Judy Trammel, who were both cheerleaders for the DCC in the 1980's. The women auditioning are put under great scrutiny in order to qualify to make the team. They conduct background checks, investigate social media backgrounds, teach interviewing skills and give etiquette training. They will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
