Technology Tools Chart #2 Instructions
Teachers today must understand that technology is used as a
tool for teaching, learning, research, and communication.
Teachers must be aware of the technology that is available for
the classroom, including hardware, software, and apps.
You will identify 5 different tools, including hardware, apps,
and software, that could be used to support technology
integration in the classroom for teaching, learning, research,
and communication. The tools (hardware, apps, and software)
can come from the textbook, course videos, colleagues/peers,
Google searches or other sources. In order to complete this
assignment, please download the Technology Tools Chart #1
Template and complete the following information:
All information on the chart should be written using bullet
points and not in paragraph format.
· Name of the tool (hardware, app, or software)
· Description (On your chart, answer at least 3 of the questions
below in at least three separate bullet points.)
· What does the technology do?
· How do teachers access the technology?
· How do students access the technology?
· Do you have to have an account to use the technology?
· Any other descriptions necessary for explaining the
technology.
· Pros (List at least 3 pros on your chart in at least three
separate bullet points.)
· What is a positive or advantageous feature of the technology?
· You can list any positive feature from any perspective
(administrator, teacher, student, or parent).
· Cons (List at least 3 cons on your chart in at least three
separate bullet points.)
· What is a con or disadvantage of the technology?
· You can list any con from any perspective (administrator,
teacher, student, or parent).
· How it would be used in the classroom. (List at least three
ways on your chart in at least three separate bullet points.)
· Dream about your classroom!
· How do you envision utilizing this technology in your
classroom?
Reflection
You will write two paragraphs reflecting on both Technology
Tool Charts you completed. Each paragraph must be at least 100
words and answer some of the questions below.
· Paragraph 1: What have you learned about the technology
available to teachers? What concerns do you have about using
technology in the classroom? How do you feel the role of
technology has changed since you were a student? What tools
do feel would be most beneficial for students?
· Paragraph 2: In Week 7, you will complete the Technology
Application Project and pick two of the tools from your chart to
create an activity and assessment for one specific topic. You
must pick tools that allow you to create and not tools that
provide activities and assessments already created for you
(Example: Quizlet and Kahoot would work, but ABC Mouse or
IXL would not.) Elementary and Special Education candidates
must choose one of the four core areas: math, reading, social
science, or science. Secondary candidates may use the subject
they are pursuing. Which tools do you think you might use for
this project? How would using technology benefit your
instruction or assessment? What type of research will you need
to do before creating your tool? Do you know how to create
using this tool? What will you need to do to learn about the tool
you’ve chosen?
This assignment is to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on
Monday of Module/Week 5.

For this section, you will write two paragraphs reflecting on
both Technology Tool Charts you completed. Each paragraph

below.
1. What have you learned about the technology available to
teachers? What concerns do you have about using technology in
the classroom? How do you feel the role of technology has
changed since you were a student? What tools do feel would be

  • 1. EDUC 201 Technology Tools Chart #2 Instructions Teachers today must understand that technology is used as a tool for teaching, learning, research, and communication. Teachers must be aware of the technology that is available for the classroom, including hardware, software, and apps. You will identify 5 different tools, including hardware, apps, and software, that could be used to support technology integration in the classroom for teaching, learning, research, and communication. The tools (hardware, apps, and software) can come from the textbook, course videos, colleagues/peers, Google searches or other sources. Each paragraph must be at least 100 words and answer some of the questions below. · Paragraph 1: What have you learned about the technology available to teachers? What concerns do you have about using technology in the classroom? How do you feel the role of technology has changed since you were a student? What tools do feel would be most beneficial for students? · Paragraph 2: In Week 7, you will complete the Technology Application Project and pick two of the tools from your chart to create an activity and assessment for one specific topic. You must pick tools that allow you to create and not tools that provide activities and assessments already created for you (Example: Quizlet and Kahoot would work, but ABC Mouse or IXL would not.) Elementary and Special Education candidates must choose one of the four core areas: math, reading, social science, or science. Secondary candidates may use the subject they are pursuing. Which tools do you think you might use for this project? How would using technology benefit your instruction or assessment? What type of research will you need to do before creating your tool?
