3. The organization recently held its largest annual
fundraiser, Walk for Animals, on May 2, 2015, in Golden
Valley, Minnesota.
One of the most successful in the event’s 41-year history,
the 2015 Walk for Animals brought together over 9,000
people and 3,000 pets for a fun morning of activities that
included pet contests, music, games, and food. The event
already surpassed its goal of raising $1 million, and the
total is still rising as the AHS continues to tally incoming
donations.
Every dollar raised through this year’s Walk for Animals
will directly support the animal services programs at the
Society’s five shelter locations, which care for nearly
24,000 animals each year. For more information, or to aid
the AHS in its efforts, visit www.animalhumanesociety.org.
