landscaping.
Vegetable gardening offers many rewards,
including, of course, fresh produce and time
spent outside in the sun. However, many may be
hesitant to start a garden due to lack of
knowledge. One of the first steps to beginning a
vegetable garden is finding the perfect spot.
3. There are three basic requirements that a space
should meet in order to be suitable for a garden.
First, the garden should get at least six to eight
hours of sun. This is crucial to the well-being of
most vegetables, though some, including lettuce
and spinach, can thrive with more shade. Next,
the garden needs to be close to a source of
water, which is especially important during dryer
times. Finally, the garden needs good soil.
Vegetables grow best in moist, organically rich
soil, such as compost or peat moss.
