4. Change an image
1st step
Select the picture that you want to change without losing the added
effects and/or animations. This brings up the Picture Tools Format
tab on the Ribbon (highlighted in red)
make sure that this contextual tab is activated. Within the Picture
Tools Format tab, click the Change Picture button (highlighted in blue)
Alternatively, right-click the picture to bring up the contextual menu.
Within the contextual menu, select the Change Picture option.
2nd step
This brings up the Insert Picture dialog box, navigate to the folder
which contains your replacement picture. Select the picture, and click
the Insert button
You can change an image in PowerPoint whilst keeping all the applied animations and effects on the image. This means that you can use
pre-produced slides as a template and change the images whilst not having to edit animations!

6. Merging Presentations
Awkward transitions between Microsoft PowerPoint presentations can be a deal breaker. After your own presentation finishes and you
sit down, your client can lose interest in what your company has to offer while your colleague’s presentation loads. By combining two
presentations into one seamless whole, the transition is smooth and you both look professional.
Reuse slides
Step 1 Open PowerPoint and one of the presentations. In the Slides
pane, scroll through your slides and then click where to add the slides
from the second presentation.
Step 2 Click the “Home” tab, click the “New Slide” down arrow and
then click “Reuse Slides” to open the Reuse Slides pane.
Step 3 Click “Open a PowerPoint File” in the Reuse Slides pane.
Step 4 Browse and select the presentation you want to add to
the first presentation and then click “Open.” The slides from the
presentation open in the Reuse Slides pane.
Step 5 Select the “Keep Source Formatting” check box at the bottom
of the Reuse Slides pane. Right-click on any of the slides in the Reuse
Slides pane. Click “Insert All Slides” to combine slides from the second
presentation with the first and maintain the formatting from each
presentation. You can also add individual slides by clicking on the
slide to add it to the presentation.

8. Crop an image
Select the picture and click the Crop button
Located near the right side of the Format tab on the Ribbon, in the
group labeled Size.
Drag the crop marks around to cut off part of the picture.
When you crop a picture, the picture still retains a basic rectangular
shape.
When you’re satisfied, press the Esc key.
If you decide later that you don’t like the cropping, you can right-click
the picture and choose Format Picture from the menu that appears.
Then click the Reset button.
Never squeeze an image or adjust its aspect ratio as this is the sign of the amateur! Cropping a picture ensures it fits and that the subject
matter is the key focus of your image.

9. Animation Basics
Animation can help make a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation more dynamic, and help make information more memorable.
The most common types of animation effects include entrances and exits. You can also add sound to increase the intensity of your animation
effects. Many presentation experts recommend using animations and sound effects sparingly. Animation can be useful in making a presentation
more dynamic, and help to emphasize points, but too much animation can be distracting. Do not let animation and sound take the focus away
from what you are saying.
Apply entrance and exit animation effects
To add animation to text or an object, do the following:
Step 1 Select the text or object that you want to animate
Step 2 On the Animations tab, in the Animation group, click an animation effect
from the gallery. Click the More arrow to see more options.
NOTE: In the gallery, entrance effects icons are colored green, emphasis effects
icons are colored yellow, and exit effects icons are colored red.
To alter how your selected text animates, click Effect Options and then click what
you want the animation to do.

10. Apply a motion path to text or an object
Step 1: Click the object or text to which you want to add a motion path. The path that you apply is followed by the center of the object or text bullet.
Step 2: On the Animations tab, in the Animations group, under Motion Paths, do one of the following:
Step 3: ClickLines, Arcs, Turns, ShapesorLoops. The path chosen appears as a dotted line on the selected object or text object.
The green arrow indicates the path’s beginning and the red arrow indicates
its end.
Step 4: Click Custom Path. When you click where you want the motion path to
start, the pointer becomes a pen.
To draw a path of connected straight lines.
Click where you want the motion path to start. Move the pointer and click
where you want the line to end. Draw the next connected line by clicking where
you want it to end. Double-click at the motion’s final end point.
To draw an irregular path.
Click where you want the motion to start. Hold down the left mouse button and
move the pointer on the path that you want the motion path to follow. Double-
click at the motion’s final end point.
Step 5: To see the complete animation and sound for the slide, on the
Animations tab, in the Preview group, click Preview.
NOTE: To move the entire motion path, click it to turn the pointer to a four-way arrow Excel Move Pointer , then drag the motion path where
you want it.
